THE Big Splash is back but without its famous towering slides, or even water for that matter. Singapore's once-favourite waterpark attraction, which closed in November 2006 for a much-needed renovation, is reopening, but as a seaside food destination instead.
Operated by the owners of One Rochester in Buona Vista, this restaurant-and-gastrobar offers indoor and outdoor dining. Its 600-strong drinks list includes martinis, cocktails and premium beers.

If you’re looking for a cool sea-fronting chill-out place on the east side of the island, 1 TwentySix is a nice place to go. The dining area, with its sleek floor-to-ceiling windows and wave-shaped shaped bar, offers a chic, by-the-sea dining experience.
1TwentySix offers a new Executive Set Lunch weekly from 11.30am to 2.30pm on Monday to Friday. At $38 you'll get to choose an appetiser, a main, and a serving of the dessert for the day. Their set lunch menu changes weekly so you'll have a new choice every week! One will never get tired dining at such a relaxing place.
Lunch that day was good. The chicken was cooked to the right texture and very juicy and succulent. Greens on the side was fresh and crunchy. The sauce complemented the chicken well.
Highlight was the prawns in the Capellini Arrabiatta. It was big, juicy and succulent too. This dish may look simple but its packed with flavors and will sure make one wants more after every mouthful. However its not recommended for those who can't take spicy food.
1TwentySix is a great place for a nice and relaxing lunch with friends and business associates.

The founders of One Rochester started this One TwentySix... and you bet they can never go wrong with their concept.
Set along the East Coast beach located at the old Big Splash (after the revamp), it lies at one corner, isolated from the rest of the restaurants.. There are 2 choices of seats, brightly lit indoors with see through glass walls or outdoors crouch with live band and outdoor bar (yet to open, official opening on 20 feb)..
It was V-day and they provided set dinners, it was a 8 course dinner that includes...
Bread and butter Fresh Oysters (it was very bad) Scallop with egg and truffle oil (must try) Maguro Pasta (unique) Soursop Sorbet Tenderloin Beef (side dishes are special) Dessert (interesting) Coffee or Tea
and it costs only $120 per pax with a bottle or red or white wine!
Yah, it may sound quite expensive but the food was extremely good, every dish was unique and special.. and we went back quite full after the food!
The service was ok, it wasn't bad neither it was extremely good but that place is a definite must-try for couples to go there and enjoy the ambience and to stroll along the beach after a hefty dinner. It's also great for chill-out with a large group of friends.... if you guys have run out of ideas where to bring your partners, this would be the place!
