This is a pretty huge food court at the basement of lucky plaza and on sundays... especially is packed all day long... Fat hope if you are trying to find a seat at this very big food court on sundays... but on other days at non-peak hours, you might just have a chance to seat down and enjoy some yummilicious stuffs from the stalls.
Like all food courts, they do have a good mix of varieties from soupy stuffs like fish soup, roasted meat, duck and chicken rice, western food and many other local singaporean food court food, however what is special is the filipino influence here. There is one particular corner stall that never seems to be queueless. The lutong pinoy filipino food. I must say, perhaps they serve the most close to heart filipino cuisines, though I 've made a mental note to try their food, I never could get past the everlasting queue.
I remembered the most about this food court is the VIKINGS HOT DOG Counter and of course VIKINGS hot dog which has long been non existent. In replacement is this cool looking stall that sells western food and they serve up a good portion with very reasonable pricing. They are a all in one, they have coffee, tea soft drinks, kaya toast and western food. Western food is yummy and looking at the size of that freshly fried cutlet makes my mouth waters. Cutlet with rice is going for a mere ($5.80) and the size of that cutlet is about 2 palm size. The beef stew rice ($6.80) is also really yummy with a whole round soup container worth of beef stew on your rice. I was a little disappointed when i saw them reheating the stew in a microwave oven, like every restaurant and cafe, i thought theirs would come from a piping and smoking pot, but that didn't happen. Yet the taste is fabulous. The sauce is Savoyard and delicious, beef soft and tender and the vegetables soft yet not soggy. I also tried their hotdog set because i really miss vikings hot dogs yet it appears to be different from the image. The dog is long and the better hotdogs are used, bread warm and crispy but the condiments are missing. The cripsy fried onion, pickles and whatsoever shown on the picture on top of the dogs is missing. I'm disappointed. should have ordered carbonara pasta or something.
Taste of Food: 3.5/5 Price: 4/5 Quality of food: 3.5/5 Presentation; 4/5 - for food court standard, their presentation is appealing... or maybe its the sheer size. Service: 4/5 - Service is fast, food packed nicely and with cutleries included, though lack of some smile but service is quick and efficient.
Will I come back: I've been thinking of trying their other stuffs once i completed my meal --- SURELY YES
Will I bring my friends: Yes... and I will intro them the 2palm sized cutlets :)
