Nice, clean, brightly lit and pleasingly decorated. Menu is right there on the table which doubles as a placemat, its categorized hence you can look for what you wanted fast. Dim sum menu have to be asked from the waitresses as dim sum are not all always available. Highly recommended are 马蹄糕, 虾饺 and 凤城水饺面. Waitresses there are usually above 30s and speak Cantonese though you can speak Chinese with them, they can't understand English very well. This is not a stereotype but just speaking out of experience. They do have good service attitude though ;D. Do make reservations if you are going on weekends or in big groups.
Cons:
Not much that I dislike except that there are very few variety of drinks available and those they had does not taste nice.
Situated in one corner of Holland V. Nicely decorated with tall glass panes though its over looking the HDB. Went there a couple of times before and services were quite good. Ordered Blackforest and its highly recommended though I forgot to ask them to remove the whipped cream. Rose bud tea is also one the nicest drink there. Finger food like wedges and its chicken wings also taste great.
Cons:
Rather cramped as the tables and chairs are placed near to each other.
Nice ambience very suitable for a date night out. Service crew friendly and accommodating. Had fries, Roast chicken penne, fish and chips, wild berry infusion, honey and lemon soother, chocolate brownie and another cake I forgot the name (look at the pic).
Fries was extremely delicious with 2 dips, one of which was BBQ and the other had the taste of lemon grass. Penne was a bit undercooked though the roast chicken pieces were nice. Overall taste was above average with nicely done cherry tomato and drizzled with olive oil and vinegar. Fish and chips was nice.
Cake portion was too big for 1 person and should be shared. Chocolate brownie was too rich with marshmellows in it. Suitable for people who love very rich and deep taste.
Cons:
Situated at a really secluded area which is not easy to find and leave. Need to make reservations as the place is usually fully booked even on weekdays. we were lucky to get a place without booking.
Food was excellent, we ordered the mushroom pot steamboat buffet. The small dishes that came with it were simply delicious. Worth mentioning were the monkey-head mushroom in special sauce and Golden Mantou in the picture. Crunchy monkey-head mushroom tasted a bit like You Tiao and the Mantou taste heavenly when you eat it together with the condense milk provided. We had the "Yuan-yang" pot where there were 2 types of soup based. I did not try the "Ma-La" soup as I don't take spicy but the other mushroom soup base was great. Meat fresh and sliced thinly though my friend said the prawns were not very fresh. Cons:
Only tea is free flow. Had a difficult time trying to explain what is the meaning of "free flow" to the waitresses. Price is still affordable and worth it but that day the waitress did not explain clearly to us that it's CNY rate and we ended up paying more than normal. Emphasis was on mushroom and meat and less on other vegetables.
Food portion was large, menu described the dishes, and other instructions (e.g rare, medium rare) well. Ordered Chef's salad, Mixed grill and garlic steak. Chef's salad was the best dish that day with extremely fresh vegetables and sliced chicken. Garlic steak was also not bad though the fried garlic was too overwhelming and covered the taste of beef. Service was fast and swift without any encounter of rude service crew. Overall a nice place for a date or dinner night out.
Con:
Peach cooler wasn't exactly a nice drink. We were sort of forced into ordering it by the (auntie) manager. Its quite expensive at about $4 per glass.
