Looking for an educational and Hip place for youngsters to hangout? Oschool is the exact place for youths itching for a good, young and energetic workout. Dance away the blues and gain a healthy, strong and flexible body.
I love *Scape, its a place bustling with activities especially during the weekends and while i browse till the 4th level, I came across some kids hanging and dancing away at the open space and next to it.. I see a glass room (Class room) with more people doing synchronised dancing with the hippest pop song. The class looked fun and I think its a great pass time for youths. While i enquired, the friendly staff gave me a good introductory on the kind of course available and the cost... which i find it kinda affordable... and so.. I will pass on these good news to all the Yebber readers as well as my nieces and nephews.
Fees: For 1st Timers: $25 ($5 registration & $20 credited into your 0 School account For open classes, per class fees: Introductory: $12 Beginner: $14 Intermediate: $16
You may also wanna take up the dance courses which is priced at about $130 for 8 sessions..
Its affordable and a good place for youths to hang, mingle and have fun :)
This is my secret place for all my shopping stress busting sprees.... Its a super economical place to buy all your toiletries, snacks and everyday household stuffs. Though they also carry a good range of casual clothing and footwear at super economical prices but nothing gives me the adrenaline rush more than toiletries especially travel sized ones.
Neatly stacked with a range of everyday brands and non-everyday brands; I love the well placed items which I find it easy to browse and sometimes we never know what interesting things and super great deals we could find here. I once found a bundle of 3 bottles of Theramed toothpaste gel-kind for the price of 1.5 bottles I buy in watsons.... The travel sized shampoos, hair conditioners (particularly hard to find) and shower gels which is usually sold for at least S$2, you could get them here for S$1.50 or less. Also you can find some interesting products from reputable brands here that you can never find in a regular pharmacy or other shopping malls.
So I say, do take time and browse, the stuffs are super economically priced and the huge variety of everyday items, there is bound to have something to be brought home with you. Shop is not exactly BIG but the merchandises are many and of a great value.... i quote again.... SUPER GOOD VALUE..... pop by and you know what i mean....
If you are looking for quality skin care products with an economical price, this is the place to go. I walked pass this shop a couple of days ago and was simply overwhelmed by the beautiful yet clean image. Smiling faces and warm cheerful "Hellos" greeted me as I entered this beautiful shop. The "whiteness" and refreshing scent of the shop is very appealing to me as it gives me a sense of purity, cleanliness and somehow serenity.....
While I browse through the enchanting bottles of body scrubs decked in various colours and flavours, the friendly staff actually offered me an experience of this product that is enriched with dead sea minerals over at this very posh sink. She gently rubbed some lavender flavoured body scrub on the back on my hand and explained to me the product, after-which she washed it off and pat my hand dry with some tissue. The experience was great and my hand did feel rather smooth and moisturized without the sticky feeling like most scrubs will do to me. The scent was gentle and does not give me a headache. You must be curious why i say that... because the scent of lavender usually gives me a headache and only from a few prestige branded products that I do not get a headache from smelling them and I'm glad.. this lavender body scrub isn't one of them. I liked the after-math feeling of my skin and decided to buy a large bottle at S$29.90. Be sure to also purchase a small little wooden scoop which pairs really well with the clean small square bottle. While I smelt the other various flavors, I've also decided on a smaller 150ml Cherry Blossom body scrub which gives a sweet floral scent. I mean.. a girl needs a new scent for every mood, every activity and everytime she dresses up. Just be glad I didn't buy the entire 7 flavours.
They do also carry matching flavors lotions, creams, shower creams, mist, the entire complete range of body care and 2 items i find extremely interesting. The foam whipped body soap is a pressured bottle of liquid body soap that creates a thick and rich foam when pressed that is of a light and creamy texture that cleans very well. The body souffle is also mighty fantastic. This gently scented body cream that is very moisturizing yet does not gives a sticky after application experience comes in a neat flat bottle for easy carry around and no spills. I love the texture as I find it rich and creamy yet easy to apply and I was surprised by the quick absorption of the smooth cream on my skin. My skin did feel supple after application, as such I also got myself a travel sized of 50ml one for S$13.90.
They also do carry various bath accessories including bath towels and bath robes... A true bath experience accessories, scents and products. Its like bringing the entire MiddleEastern Bath experience right to the comfort of your home.
The price is great, product is fabulous, exotic scents such as vanilla and sandalwood available and most importantly, the helpful staff generously puts you through trials after trials.... I love the attitude and indeed a feel pampered just by visiting the shop, not to mention the beautiful packaging which I will elaborate in the next review.. So stay tuned...
We visited KBox during the first week of the new year as we would like to start of this year with an out-blast of *non-coordinated* *heartfelt* *ear-bleeding* emotional declaration of love songs, kpop, jpop and Gong Xi Fa Chai Songs.... Yes.. Kbox do carry a wide variety of songs of various genre, language and artist from the international scene. What is most appalling is the songs our local Singaporean artiste sings. Matter of fact, if not for the interactive and easy to use Kbox computer song selection system, I would not have known that our local tv-serial stars did singing and you could sing their songs..
The outlet is at the second level of *Scape, if not the top level. It looked like a black/red hole with a counter. I am thrilled with the Kbox logo stuck to the ceiling, I thought its interesting but seriously, how many people do raise their heads to notice whats on the ceiling? Its not a big place and the rooms are small... We are sadly given this really small and oblong room to house 4 of us and the air-conditioning is really WARM.... Matter of fact, when we open the door to the outside we could feel the rush of cool wind into our room... While we kindly notified the staff, we were told that nothing could be done. While our group increased in size, we asked to change a room and the kind staff gladly agreed to let us, however this came with a PRICE.... which i will tell you later... The next room though slightly larger is also WARM... shortly as we inquired further.. the two rooms are sharing the same compressor unit... *FAINT*... yes.. laterally feeling faint...
Though the service is pretty friendly and the snacks are yummy, not all the gadgets in the room is working properly. I guess its about time for a total maintainance of the equipment must be made. Except for the song selection computer system, i should say the *applause / jeer / clap* functions which is very fun to me is NOT WORKING.... the wall control system is also not working and the microphone sometimes goes out of connection....
Now the price we are talking about... they allowed changing of rooms only when we had more people and just an additional of 2 person up us to the next catagory in which instead of just having to pay for the additional 2 person, we had also to pay for 2 additional snacks. Now the price of the snacks is the same as the price of 1pax... so its 4 pax in total. Not forgetting the room rental price and other misc. So it turned out to be pretty expensive and not the small promo amount they offer you. With the many separate charges here and there, i think its wiser to inquire on the phone or online first before you actually pop by.
This is a really small outlet and the rooms are small with no attached toilets. So if you are coming to this outlet, the sauna rooms are 503 and 505....
Indulge in a world of colorful Mexican music, flamenco and authentic rich and yummy snacks and mains...
I was there on a saturday night and this place is packed to the brim. I love the interior decoration of this place as I've always been a sucker for nicely decorated joints with matching theme and menu. Be greeted with beautiful tinted lightings and ceramic tiled tables and chairs. The air resounds party yet its audible for friends chit-chats with the occasional loud laughters that makes it even more relaxing.
Love their Signature frozen Margarita because its well mixed with a variety of flavors to choose from. We tried the assam flavoured which is pretty exotic and we don't get it anywhere else. Its very special and balanced as the extreme sourness of the assam tamed the bitter and spiteful tequila. I should say its one of the best Margaritas i've ever tasted. Especially served in these colourful and ruggedly gorgeous looking margarita cups made the entire experience even more interesting.
The food is yummy and interesting. Cheesy nachos is cheesilicious with a spite from the jalapano and the grilled chicken salad came in a edible bowl of crispy pastry. What is most surprising is the plate which matches the table design. I'm sure you will love it. Food is yummy and rich just like the way you have them in mexico, yet tamed to our asian taste buds. The portion I should say is good for sharing and you will surely love almost everything on the menu as I find it comprehensive with something agreeable for everyone.
I love the wall paintings as well, full of culture and gives the place a unique identity. Though being priced above average, i find it worth it to dine in a place with such interesting personality. Its a great place to visit with friends especially with big groups.
Be prepared to spend $30-60 per pax with signature Margarita in a group of 4.
If you are craving for some yummy home cooked japanese food, OOTOYA is the place to go. The restaurant looked simple with earthly coloured interior and i must say really low chairs and dining table. It gives me a feeling of dining in a small restaurant in the outskirts of tokyo. Very simple decorations and cutlery designs yet homely, warm and welcoming for me.
Food is delicious and simple... Choose from stirred fried meat and veg dishes to special appetizers like my favourite HIJIKINI.. which is a mixture of seaweed, toufoo skin and black soya bean. The soya bean is caramalized making the entire dish sweetish and the toufoo skin juicy. Not to mention the excellent health benefits of this low calories dish; how do i know of its calories??? Well they are all stated on the food menu. I am very surprised to see the estimated calories for each dish on the menu for all the selections in the menu including desserts, both for single dish order or complete with set. Also when you order the set, you get to choose a few types of rice combinations in a bowl, which included the Gokoku low calories, high fiber rice which is tediously chosen and carefully cooked, only exclusive to the restaurant. You can also choose 3 other types of flavours such as seaweed.
The service at this outlet is pretty good during my time of visit, however I am not sure of peak hours but... I love the open concept kitchen and the huge square table for mass shared sitting that faces the kitchen. Its extremely old jap feel however when you are here, you don't have to seat on your knees... Tables are pretty limited and they only admit customers with groups that have completely arrived. Reservations are also limited, so be early and on a weekend, prepare to queue for a little while.
I find having a meal here is pretty of a good value as the portion is not tiny and the price not gigantic. A rough ball park.. appetizers (S$3 - 6) drinks (S$1 - 5), Mains (S$18 - 35), Desserts (S$5 - 9).
They also do run some fantastic lunch time, high-tea and weekday dinner promos. So do watch out for the small little signs on the restaurant. And while you are there... don't miss the entrance as its small and so square... and low... you might mistaken it as being CLOSED.... if you can pop your head in.....
SASA is a great place to shop for all your skincare and fragrances. They are like a huge emporium for all you need to make yourself look good and smell good. This outlet i should say is much larger then any other outlets. I mean I have been to SASA so tiny and full of things... its like a one way street... One side IN and the other side OUT..
Spanning a great space, this particular outlet allows you to salsa inside. Well arranged with a wall of fragrances with many famous and big brands like ralph lauren, GioGio Armani, CK, Hugo as well as some exclusive brands that is only available in SASA outlets. I love it when they are running some promotions. These promotions could be so attractive that you can't just stop at buying one bottle of perfume. I should say they are also very generous with their testers as you could test on any fragrances you fancy and the helpful staff are always there to intro you the best selling and the best smelling fragrance. I find them knowledgable, helpful yet not intimidating.
If you are a lady, don't forget to browse through their extensive range of the cosmetics. They do have fanciful korean, japanese and taiwanese cosmetics with mascara so dramatic that you could look like a doll overnight.
Skincare range is fabulous too... though i feel that prices are pretty similar the departmental stores, however sometimes the promotions could be pretty attractive.
My favourite hang out cafe especially on sunday mornings while waiting to go for church service... Located next to subway and the food court which is currently under renovation, nicely tucked at a cosy corner spanning a good number of about 10 tables is everyone's favourite cafe.
My favourite food if you may ask is the good old ham and cheese toast.. Somehow, I feel nowhere makes the grilled ham and cheese toast as nicely as Cross Talk. Well you may say maybe i'm too hungry or perhaps its the press grill... Somehow... its very yummy for me.. I love the crispyness of the bread coupled by the buttery inside with juicy ham and nice gooey cheese... Grab a cup of regular coffee and you are on your way to paradise.
They do also serve a good range of cafe food and local snacks and quick meals like Nasi-Lemak, Soft Boiled eggs, etc. Price wise i think its pretty economical for dining in town. Its a simple small place ran by locals. Extremely homely, cosy, easy and great for small chit-chats or informal business talks. Not really a good place for big groups but if you are looking for a not so noisy and cosy place which serves pretty nice snacks with some quiet chit-chat this is the place. I particularly love the seats near the glass window panals as i love to watch bustling everyday happening while sipping my cuppa potent caffine laced beverage.
Nothing really WOW-ing but its great for weekly or daily homely hangouts :)
Great place, Friendly staff and fabulous grilled sandwiches.. YUM!!!
If you like to eat curry, or curry rice or mixed vegetables with rice, then you must go for the Tian Tian Hainanese Curry Rice. As we know, hainanese are also famous for their pork chops, so when you are there.. Be sure to also order the pork chop.
Located in a Coffee Shop just in front of the carpark and connected via a covered walkway to the Hawker Centre, Tian Tian is almost always crowded. They are famous for their curry rice and I must say, they live up to their fame. The curry drizzled on the rice is smooth, flavourful and very terrorizing. Terrorizing because it made one plate of rice insufficient.
I was there on a weekday late morning and as recommended by my foodie colleague, we went ahead to order the famous pork chop, some toufoo, stirred fried vegetables and fried fish. They have a good variety of dishes to choose from and they all looked yummy but most tantalizing would be the concoction of curry sauce. I noticed the lady mixed up to 3 types of curry sauce to be drizzled on our plates of rice and the smell of the curry is intoxicating and I was salivating while i carry the food over to our table. My first taste of the curry was surprising as I expected it to be spicy but it was not at all. The taste was mellow and pretty much in between the japanese curry and nonya curry. The thinly sliced crispy pork chops were juicy and tasty...
Overall the food was great, though I think the cleaners could have done a better job in keeping the seating area much cleaner, it was a pleasant lunch. Food is great, Price is reasonable though slightly on the higher side, service is prompt and with a smile.... Great Singapore Foodie Hangout :)
Oh yar... If you dabao, they do give a generous portion but do ask for more curry sauce.
I've faced some laptop problems lately, I mean my 4 year old laptop has had better days and i tribute the troubles it had for the last one year as somekind of technological rheumatism, however it has deteriorated into some sort of an immobile conditions whereby it hangs so frequently and handicapped me a great deal. Upon hearing some good comments from a friend who had walked the entire SIM LIM SQUARE meticulously finding the best shop to repair his 3 years old SONY VAIO, I've decided to pop by the shop to see what the damages are.
Located on the bustling 3rd level at the corner, I am greeted by a view of simple furnishing and plently of computer parts, repaired laptops and refurbished laptops stored like books on the shelf. As I stopped at the front counter, the friendly staff immediately asked me what help i needed. Upon discussing the condition of the my laptop, she helped me do a scan and later provided some professional advices which gave me hope. My most loyal and faithful aging companion had finally hope for rejuvenation! She briefly go through the processes she will do and the end result and most importantly, she did mention that she might be able to keep most of the information still intact and an hour is all she needs.
After 45 mins of a fabulous lunch break at the food court in the basement, I received a call from her that my laptop is ready for collection and upon collection, she did a check for me while i witness my rejuvenated Lenovo X61 do its due dilligence. It ran pretty smoothly, just like an antique car fixed on with a new engine. Not powerful and sophisticated like a newly built however, good enough for my usage. I thank her and paid a sum of $50 for all the checking and reinstallation of a new OS complete with some of my inherent programs and drivers.
Service is good, efficient and trustworthy. I mean I have had experience with some other repair shops in the same location that did not do a good job, plenty of take back and do it again recurrents and they charged me sky high... So if you have some laptop troubles, this shop is a good option. I;ve had a good experience here and i'm sure you might too...
