If you desire the creamy texture on a smooth crispy butter cup of an egg tart yet feeling bored with the plain egg tart flavor, then be blown away by the savory and sweet egg tarts from fancy delight.
I was pretty skeptical about trying their egg tarts at first as i always thought egg tarts are like soda drinks... They only taste good in their original flavor and only when it is sweet. The green pandan flavored tart, double chocolate brown coloured tart and the pinkish jam centered tarts look rather unusual to me, however on receiving a half a dozen of these tarts in a box made me change my mind.
I tried the cheese egg tart, which is more savory then sweet and find it rather enjoyable. The creamy filling infused with generous melted cream cheese is simply heavenly. I love the mushroom & cheese as well as the black pepper chicken flavored ones. The butter pastry cups that holds the entire tart together goes very well with the savory fillings and simple melts in my mouth.
The sweet ones are yummy too.... I tried the chocolate chip which tasted just of the right sweetness and fused with the egg tart filling well. The blueberry jam one i had is a tad too sweet for my taste however i still finished it all. Last I ate the original flavored one.. Original tasted creamy, thick and smooth. It is of the right texture, not too watery or thick and hard like most traditional egg tarts. I love it when it looked a tad toasted with sugar on the top.. somehow.. caramelized sugar makes anything looks and taste good.
Meanwhile, there is not much to the shop in this outlet. I walk pass it almost often and location is great for take away as it is on the same level as the link way to the MRT station. Grab some tarts and some frozen yogurt and perhaps some really fine bread down the hallway... Meanwhile, they have so many other flavors..... I think I will need to run more so that I can try them all....
A fabulous dinner place with a great choice of food to choose from and all at a super value for money price.
It was a girls day out and while strolling through the many restaurants at Millenia Walk, we pass by this very small counter next to TCC, we were warmly greeted by the counter staff there. While we were issued charge cards, we walked into a so much larger dining hall with open concept kitchen, flaming pans and the aroma of grilled meat with sweet spices.
There were so many choices of cuisines you could choose from; spanish tapas, kababs, skewered meat, turkish rice dishes, sandwiches in panini, pizza, salad and so much more. The portion is pretty decent and some may feel big.... Wash it down with more then 100 choices of beer from all over the world. While I was there I was thrilled to see their One for One offers. You can have One for One for any kinds of bottled beer (till 8pm), sandwhich is also going one for one, and skewered meat as well.... Usually such offered are only valid on a weekday, however.. which I was there on a saturday evening... I get this special offer as well.
Dessert is also fabulous, though not many choice to choose from, you get the essential yummys.. Like Crepe and Ice-Cream, Brownie, Chocolate churros, ice-creams with waffles and other cakes. I would suggest go for the weekday high-tea... They serve a good array of sweets and savouries in a beautiful dual layered serviing plate.
They have both indoor and outdoor alfresco seats which are well ventilated with fan and great for evening drinks. Last i checked.. no mozzies and dust from the nearby road. Services was overly friendly... The staff was attentive, friendly and provided many good information. Basically, you get more than what you ask.. and before you could ask.. what you need is served....
A great place to hang out with your friends and family.. Big groups are okay here as there is ample seats.. however the crowd does come in during dinner time, so be sure to make reservations. Interesting colourful array of menu, drinks and deco.
Oh.... about the damages.. First there is no service charge and service is super great, then i ordered a one for one sandwich (ham & cheese / Roast Beef served with fries and tossed salad) which i couldn't finish and it cost me a good $13.80. Bottled german beer about one pint per bottle $15 and its one for one. Skewered meat and skewered muchroom one for one $12.80. Spanish seafood in a cute cone looking clay plate with Spanish rice $18.90.
It seems like I will be coming here more often.....
I had lunch at Carl's Junior at Jurong Point today.. though I'm a west side girl and frequent Jurong Point so very often, it was my first ever visit to this Carl's Jr outlet, mainly because there are much too many restaurants, fast food joints, food outlets and high calorie food to choose from.
It was a great experience. Great because I was served by this really really really cute Caucasian staff, tall, handsome and very polite.... and of course deeee.....licious burgers....
I would say that the location of this joint is like an indoor alfresco styled setting. Why... because you get the natural sunlight from the floor to ceiling glass window, you get to seat by these windows, watch the busy road below, trees swaying in the wind, birds flying blindly into the well polished glass yet.... no sweat from the blazing afternoon sun on the Sunny Island Set in the Sea.... Plenty of well cushioned seats and clean tables. While I was there, I could see that the outlet is understaffed, there is only this cute guy at the counter, the branch manager and another kitchen staff in the kitchen and there is this two other guy dressed in well ironed shirts and pants looking more like area manager or management staffs of the franchise. While lunch hours picks up, this 2 management staff actually helped clean the tables, pack the rubbish, go around collecting trays and greeting customers. I was impressed watching all these happen and humbled as well.... Though understaffed.. I still feel that service is good. My order is served quick enough and the way its prepared is as expected.
Theres this promotion going on, called the S$7.90 combo meal which you can find more info at (http://carlsjr.com.sg/live/promo14.php) and I thought its the best value ever. I ordered the Chili Cheese Burger, which is done mexican style the way I liked it. Beef patty is juicy and the beef chili sauce is seasoned just right, the burger is huge and the combo comes with medium fries and a medium drink cup, I should say good for 2 if you are not a particularly BIG APPETITE diner, you could also upsize it to everything large for an additional S$1. The fries/chips is the best of the fast food chains I ever eaten and they are pretty generous in quantity...
I love the Self-Serve unlimited refill drink booth with free flow of ice tea and slices of lemon. The self-serve condiment is great as well, you get chili sauce, ketchup, salsa and pickles, which is really yummy..... The ingredients are of pretty decent quality and if you haven't tried a Carl's Jr Burger... you must try it.... and I'm sure you will be back for more!!! Stop counting the calories.. Just Burn MORE!!!
What comes into your mind when you hear about Chalets in Singapore? I recall wet and sandy bathrooms, mosquitoes aplenty, squeaky bed and a beach full of noisy teenagers.... but this place is nothing like i've ever imagined....
I was first greeted by a private parking area exclusively for only two bungalow (G & H) with 8 parking lots and a security barrier... Walking into the house, which is nicely cooled at 25 degrees by a nicely decorated hall by a strong shiny LG air-conditioning. Containing 4 bedrooms at 3 levels with every room equipped with a good strong aircon, nice clean bedsheets, firm beds, LED TV and PS3 for our complete entertainment pleasure and super clean and luxurious bathrooms, complete with hotel grade toiletries and towels... Matter of fact, there is an air con unit at every level of the walkway, which i think its too luxurious.
At the hall, you will find a full fledged karaoke set complete with a selection of 2000 over songs to choose from, cable tv, wifi and a OTO massage chair. Theres also extra chairs, mahjong table, big strong circulation fans in the storeroom for huge parties.... Dining table can seat 8 and theres a kitchen with electric stoves, oven, huge efficient fridge and all you need to cook up a good meal for a big celebration. An efficient gas BBQ pit seats outside with nice huge wooden tables, a swing, lawn picnic table that seats 6 and you also get a private garden with beautiful lush wooden gazebos and good seaview. Tanning chairs and a door to the almost private beach. The beach is small but beautiful.... and i forgot to mention.... table soccer that is all yours to play... No need to put in the coins....... Airplanes fly low to land at the changi airport.. watch people sailing and coast guards driving their boats by... Its an all new experience.
Truly resort style living... I mean.... I would love to have a house like that.... minus the cleaning and maintenance.... Its a fabulous place to rest and relax... for a quiet family getaway and also for parties of up to 80 people.... Its a great place... especially for those who tend to get drunk during parties... You can just throw them at your private garden lawn area! Puke, Sleep, Snore all they want.. you know they are safe yet you won't have to smell their stench. Not many bugs or mozzies and its very clean and children friendly, only set back is that its exclusively for SAF personnel. So its high time we get to know more of these great people!
I agree with $money$ that the outlet is a tad too small, however it serves the people working around that area well. I mean sometimes you just want a packet of sugarfree candy to perk up the not too happy, non-efficient afternoons.
I love to shop at watsons actually.. I mean for a comfy 10 mins break.... Apart from snacks, candy and toiletries, sometimes there are some interesting finds. Like Hello Kitty Candy in Box... or snoopy limited edition pocket tissues, ....
I find this outlet especially convenient for those who wants a quick fix of painkillers for their headaches and when on dire straits when your mother's eldest sister (YI MA) comes visiting.... You wouldn't want to walk too far... Excellent location, however if you can have a bigger outlet, that will be great.... It has everything I need especially eye make-up removals for my panda eyes due to that smudging eye liner.
One of my favourite shopping must go.. is the supermarket.. WHY? because.. everything sold here is necessity and everything is affordable...
Unlike huge hypermarkets like Carrefour... I can always find what I want at cold-storage.. average sized well allocated spaces, neatly shelved and good variety of products. Most of the time, I could find some really premium things at a good quick-sale price and its simply soooo thrilling.....
Yesterday, while I was doing my normal weekend shopping I came across this really interesting white boxy freezer by the cashier.... On top.. theres a small label stating.. FREE ICE.. to keep your FRESH and Chilled purchases SAFE.... This to me is pretty refreshing... I never knew anybody would bother to provide ICE (FOC) I mean in Singapore.. FOC stuff are truly hard to find...... For this... I am giving Cold-Storage a good(4 Starred) review and a BIG PAT ON THE BACK... Gooooood JOB!!!
Its these tiny little gestures that tells us.. you care... about us... and not just about our fat wallets....
It is true... If you are being asked the third time, you are most likely to succumb into buying. Being a true singaporean chinese, I cannot but agree to try their drinks and boy.. i regretted not buying at the first "Would you like to try our drinks?" months ago!
Odin is a pretty unique stall in the Hawker Centre setting, situated next to my favourite BAK KUT TEH store, I always looked upon it as TOO CLEAN and ATTAS. The very chic setting with its super retro COCA COLA Chiller, boxes and boxes of TWINNINGs tea bags, Jars and Jars of Honey and premium dried tea making flowers, bags of mush-mellows... and friendly and gentle stall owners simply does not go along with the noisy hawker setting... I should say.. its like a twinkling star on a very dark night. However, I was touched by their passion and sincerity. Yes we can feel passion by just looking at the stall, it is kept extremely neat and clean with clear logos of Odin's cafe on drinking cups, takeaway cups, snack bags, labels and yes.. even matching t-shirts. Sincerity..... comes from the look of their eyes.... and their service.. Always keeping conversation light hearted, fast, efficient and not-pushy yet provides you clean takaways... so you can walk away in style...
Yes.. I've come across services that feels like: GIVE ME YOUR MONEY and TAKE THE STUFF.. Or the half past six kind of... sticky drink bags, or sauce stained plastic bags with soup about to burst the bag kinda thing... Its hawker... and its Singapore... don't expect service.. its SELF SERVICE.....
So much rattling for everything else but the drinks in actual.. Actually I only bought an Ice Honey Lime to takaway.. and I was impressed... because I could actually taste the Honey in the ICE HONEY LIME.. usually... i get more of ice and lime.... and sometimes it gets pretty lame.... The Honey is of pretty decent quality and the drink is just right... Matter of fact I was so surprised with the quality of the drink i am getting... I've decided to write this review the first thing i reach the office. If this S$1.80 maxi cup of ICE HONEY LIME is good... I believe the other things will be just as good...
While I sip mine ICE HONEY LIME which does not really dilute with the melting ice, I'll watch this review for other yummy stuffs from the Odin's Cafe. If you are nearby or a passerby, do drop by.... its cheaper then the premium bubble teas for sure..... and we should support our own local singapore businesses.
For the great service, passion and courageous vision.... I will rate them 5 stars There is indeed hope for the Singapore Service Industry...
This Gloria Jeans outlet is situated just in front of the backdoor of Crabtree and Evelyn... Right at the "back alley" of the new wing which is next to the main walkway parallel to the convention centre. I love the area as it is much quieter yet nearer to the convention center, underpass to the MRT station and less noise from the exhilarated shoppers.
Its a place to seat back and relax. Plenty of couch and nice looking seats with ample space and great view. Air-conditioning is adjusted to a comfortable temperature and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee freely floats around the vicinity.
Sit down for a good chat, a hot cuppa of coffee, tea or icy cold freeze and relax watching the hustle and bustle of tourist contributing to our economy. What a great way to relax. Its a better place to be then the always crowded starbucks near the exit and other coffee places are just too far away. The drinks are decently priced and service is pretty good..... Don't expect the stuffs you find in coffee bean or starbucks to be here... Gloria Jeans have their own special concoctions, which to me is a breath of fresh air. Of course,, the regular brews such as espressos, latte and still available, but look out for their monthly specials. Sometimes they surprise me.... with their special offers as well.. I ever had a ONE FOR ONE and even free muffins on some promos.....
Reading materials are aplenty too... and if you would like to know what to look out for our hang out at... Be sure to grab a copy of the I-S newspaper, esplanade handbook and SISTIC entertainment guide. Travel magazines, books and other readables are also available if you forgot to bring your ever faithful STRAITS TIMES..... Great place to hang out while you wait for your guy friends elbowing others at the IT FAIR....
Yoguru has the creamiest frozen yogurt I've ever tasted.... and I love the Yogu flavor.. mostly acai berry based with blueberries or pomegranate... I find it both healthy and very nourishing... do you know about the antioxidants of berries.....
I always go to this outlet when i'm in raffles city or suntec area as compared to the rest of the other frozen yogurt parlors nearby the vicinity. First, the amount given is alot and they don't need to weigh it.. I've seen some places.. they weigh their yogurt cups.... secondly, the toppings they have are all good grade toppings like mixed healthy nuts, muesli, fruits like blue berries and other wholesome stuffs.. it makes me feel so healthy.... and thirdly, which is also most importantly, their yogurt is creamy.... it makes me feel like i'm eating more yogurt then ice..... I mean.. i come across some frozen yogurt that is so ICY... feels more like yogurt freeze then frozen yogurt......
Its such a popular thing right now that even tai tais are eating it..... I've ever seen one rich auntie ordering a take home cup of YOU GOOD (yogurt) at this outlet.... Oh yes.. they have take home cups too.... you can buy some put at home and have it as and when you crave for it....
For the guys out there who is not a 'you good' fan... drop by the outlets... most of the Yoguru outlets and manned by pretty young girls.. and I MEAN Pretty young things...... If you are not a really big fan of 'yougood' you could always give them to me.. I've a huge fridge in my house....
Now i heard they have many more outlets... like City Square and J-Cube... head on to yoguru.. and have a healthy YOUGOOD experience and pleasant service.
Awfully Chocolate is Awfully Good.... Their chocolate fudge cake is too awfully sinful not to eat... Though sold in petite sizes.. the 6" cake requires about 6 people to finish...... The chocolate fudge cake is super rich and very spongy and moist in the middle... One of the best chocolate cakes I've ever tasted locally.... Made with semi bitter chocolate via their secret recipe, I can say its better then the LANA Chocolate Fudge cake I always like..
I've also got the chocolate fudge cake with fresh banana... Its superlicious as well.. but beware.. once you get hooked.. your 2 front tooth will look chocolish for a long time.... always bring along a good branded 3 ply tissue to clean your 2 front tooth......
Besides the normal round cakes, they also have the super stacked.... sold in grams.. you might feel that its a little pricey, however, the cake is so dense and heavy, its not the kind that you should gulp down alot.... You are suppose to eat them in bits and share with your friends because a small mouthful will eventually be too flavourful and rich and in no time.. it will become YUCK. So take small bites and enjoy the exploding flavor. The texture of the super stacked cakes are very smooth and sweetness is just nice. Pair it with some sky juice (plain water) and it will be balanced... SkyJuice is free flow by the side.. have as much as you want.... its FREE!! I love it!!!..... Super stacked cakes comes in 2 flavors.. Chocolate Fudge and White Chocolate Caramel. Both is nice but I like the White Chocolate Caramel.. it sure looks a little creamy but I love the texture and the hint of burnt Caramel taste....
Other stuffs like cold poached chocolate, Hei Ice Cream and Muffins were great too... But I'm leaving it for you to Yebber about...
