This is my 2nd visit to Kuishin Bo after a period of 2yrs. Placed a reservation and brought my mother and bf for buffet dinner today (advance Mother's Day celebration). My mother was particular happy with the Snow Crab and all the food as they were all pretty fresh. The jingle was catchy and everyone would anticipate the next station that would serve the "specialties". We've got half-grilled cheese lobsters, cream banana crepe, peach ice-cream, ice-cream pie etc.
My bf and I love the way their wagyu beef (pardon if spelling is wrong) and chicken is fried. Wooo! Tender and juicy. Think they could do with a bit more cooked vegetable selection :)
Total bill was $140 [forgot to ask for Senior-Citizen 10% off
=( ] It was pretty worth it since it made my Mum so happy, taking a bit of everything to try but good to have once in a blue moon. On the whole, it was a pretty happy 3hr dining experience for the young and old :D
Been there once and probably will not be back for quite a while. My bf ordered this almond drink and it was a disappointment. After drinking it, we stuck to my yuan yang. It tasted very powderish and thick... As for the food, i guess its about the same as the other HK eating place that have surfaced locally.
By the way, it was the service of their staff that we didn't really have a good impression on. No one came to show us seats, we actually had to find one ourselves. The people serving food didn't inform us of what is being given, we had to ask another to double confirm if it is our order. The couple at the table beside us asked for a cutlery and after some time, the waiter just casually placed it on the table and left. One can see they were not very happy with the service. I'm not a fussy diner but I've seen better service at other similar eating places, even at peak periods.
ok the good - live telecast of certain shows and simulcast of those on tv..
the cons- apart from the freezing scenes, i've seen certain programmes over and over and OVER again, over 5 times over a few days. And its like once when you board in the morning, and when you knockoff or want to go elsewhere in the afternoon, its the exact same programme on air again. It drives me crazy, when I cant have a nap and/or do not have other things to distract me..
They have closed indefinitely since 23 Dec 2007. I've ordered from them before but sadly didnt get to taste them as it was a surprise gift for a friend. But heard from them that it was great.. was thinking of getting another one soon. A Pity!
It was my 3rd time dining at Soup Spoon but my 1st at Bugis's outlet. Ordered Peppery Chicken Hotpot and Asian Sweet Corn Chowder and tuna mayo sandwich drink. The chicken hotpot is of course peppery but still acceptable to me. The corn chowder is what i term very "corny", there is simply so much corn in the soup! We couldn't finish the corny soup.. Had the tuna mayo takeaway. But it was as filling as ever! oh.. and their staff were really polite and helpful too! Would definitely go back to try other soups!
