The food was yummy, portion was good perhaps our appetite has reduced but 4 dishes including one nasi lemak and one char kway teow is good for 2 with left overs... I guess it had been enough to feed 3.

Services was overly friendly and well seats were ample and spaced pretty okay. Overall cleanliness was good and staff was okay attentive but overly pushy when it comes to purchasing their privilege card. Can you imagine they actually approached us to sign up for their card even before we ordered our food and well the card can only be used for the next visit, does it mean i order a drink, sign up, pay, walk out and walk back in then I can use my card for its pre-determined value and offers? This is almost a failed promotion tactic for their membership card.

The food was great and steaming hot when it arrived...
    1) Penang Fried Kway Teow - though not as good as the real thing, it tasted yummy but unlike the normal see hum char kway teow, this one is of a much healthier mix of ingredients with prawns even. Not too oily and off the right mix of spices and sweet sauce.

    2) Nasi Lemak - this was outstanding, matter of fact they are having a promo and portion was super good with my favourite curry chicken and ACHAR which tasted woooolahlah.... this is my favourite dish so far...

    3) 4 Heavenly kings - which is a mixture of various veg stirred fried with sambal... Have my favourite stinky beans which is super detoxing and healthy. Nice light dish that is not too spicy and healthy.

    4) Hay Chor - Traditional Prawn Beancurd skin wraps is one of my Granny's handy makes. This one is the tiny version which i find easier to eat and tasted more crispy then my granny's. Dip in a little of that plum sauce and the taste changes immediately to one that is tangy and salty at the same time. The sourish sweetish plum sauce brings out the flavors and the spices exceptionally well. Its really a pretty yummy dish.

    The overall experience was:

    Cleanliness: 4/5 |
    Service: 2.5/5 |
    Food Quality: 3.5/5 |
    Yumminess: 3.5/5 |
    Price; 3/5 |

    Will i return? Likely Yes

Will i bring my friends? Likely Yes

The Vietnamese food here is outstanding. I must say the Bahn-Mi aka French Loaf Sandwiches blows me away.

Located at the walkway towards ION, this small joint has got seats good for singles like me. Love the Bar top high seats, made dining alone a comfortable and casual experience for me.

Of all the Phos, noodles, side dishes and desserts, I love the sandwiches the most. Prepared freshly so we usually have to wait and stuffed with an array of vegetables of all colours, taste and aroma. Theres a good mix of spice and I am blown away but the bursting taste with every bite. My favourite flavor, the 5 spice pork.

Ingredients used fresh and ample amount was stuffed in. This is perhaps one of the best thing from a ex french colony. They make almost perfect yummy sandwiches...

It was the Sunday noon lunch time peak hour, though the offices and working crowd are mostly lazing at home, yet being in one of the shopping iconic locations, the place will slowly be filled up with shoppers.

So we wanted a cold drink to quench the hot afternoon and were told there are completely no cold drinks served, no reasons given just asked to get yourself a hot drink. I paid for my orders, while trying to appease my boggling mind. My orders included a peanut toast with eggs, hot coffee, mee siam and a hot milo is simply too hot...

The drinks i carried and sat down with my partner at a cleaner table. Why i say cleaner is because all the other unoccupied tables are dirty... So define dirty: littered with left over food, some sicks are sticky, obviously children spilled drinks and the floor dodgy with spill stains, finished meals utensils, bowls and cups left for a while, i mean we could spot the slightly windblown dried up looks and well, the place is dirty.

If you could spot my picture i uploaded, the place is unkempt and there were 4 people at the counter and while i guess 2 more behind the door to the store and I was simply wondering what happened to our first class service...

What was worst wasn't the vibrating tag for me to pick up my order.. I mean its a cafe, i'm fine with it but when i lifted my hand to pick up my bowl of mee siam, i got BURNT... Yes laterally the bowl was so freaking hot it burnt my fingers (most likely food was microwaved, otherwise how can the bowl be this hot?)... while i juggled my pain, the 2 staffs nearest to me in the cashier kitchen just looked at me nonchalantly. No help was offered, no advise just nothing... i had to call my partner to help me lift the bowl, even an experienced cook with thicker male skin as got to find a dirty rag near the counter to pick up the bowl. All this while the big-hooha... nobody cared.... I was dismayed... apparently amazed by the service.....

Toastbox is a representative brand of Singapore and with service standards as such is simply sad... Please treat this as a feedback to improve your services... You somehow has a social responsibility as an iconic brand of our country.

I am sad, disappointed and pissed... never coming back sorry!!! Even our food courts has better service!

Heard all about it, saw the long snaking queues at lunch time and finally got to try it. The trick is really to go for very early lunch and not only you don't have to queue, you won't need to fight your way or tissue chope your seats.

Its not a huge restaurant and well most fried chicken are freshly made as such you would usually have to wait at least 10 mins. Its extremely yummy i must say, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and bursting with flavor. As our tastebuds starts to learn to enjoy the exotic korean styled flavourings, we are also conditioned to get accustomed to paying for a more pricy korean fried chicken as compared to local chains.

The menu don't offer much information with just plate sizes, flavours and if you want a set meal. Not many choices are available, at most you find various types of cut sizes eg. wings, chicken fingers, chicken pops... So we ordered one spicy and one normal just to taste the difference and how the sauce made it a WOW factor.

Our set came with a serving of shoe string fries that tasted peppery and yummy, something close to long john silver's chips but more crunchy and savoury. A small box of pickles which is a wow factor... Its true, korean make superb pickles, crunchy and of the right tangy-ness. A soft drink of your choice and shortly afterwards, we were vibrated to collected our order.

One drum and a hind of spicy coating and normal crispy. The normal crispy tasted yummy, its of the right crispy and not too oily. The coating is of the right thickness and well spiced. The Spicy was quoted with a kimchi sauce or chilli sauce, i'm confused by both, however it turned out to be unbelievably yummy. Love the thick crust and well soaked sauce. It was sweet and sour with a very light chilly spicy taste. I think even children can handle that.

The food was yummy, priced higher than our usual fast food fried chicken however quality was good and as compared to those served in restaurants, their prices are pretty economical.

Location: 4/5 (Convenient with MRT n BUS n plenty of parking space)

        Food: 4/5 (Pretty Yummilicious)

Price: 4/5 (As compared in par with korean fried chicken, they are priced reasonably)

Service: 3.5/5 (its a 2 man show while i was there, but the staff were friendly and patient)

        Cleanliness: 3.5/5

        Will I return: YES

Will I bring my friends: YES

The only memorable thing i ever tried at Bao Today at Vivocity would be the half paus. Since sakurrin's invoked my good memories of this Dim Sum stall, I could not help but have to write a little bit about this yummy stall.

Its one of those quirky names I enjoy during my teen years, being very much influenced by the serial Bao Qing Tian aka moon atop the forehead on a black faced guy. I love the entire selection of what they offer at the nostalgia looking store but these half paus are very exciting to eat. For once in my life, you can see what is in the filling of the pau and yes there is not much of the yummy pau skin as its a half pau.

I love the ingredients inside, aka minced pork with an egg yolk if i'm not mistaken on half a bun sleek with meat oil ozzing out of the half pau. Yes i think its a little pricey yet the ingredients used are fresh and generous... One bite.. all you get is ingredients with thin soft fluffy pau skin.

I just have to say.. yummy......... brings back many fond memories...

How i wish i had a picture now.... am going to VIVOCITY this weekend.
