Its a pretty nice place to hang out for drinks. The leather seats, wooden table and live Jazz music made it very comfy to destress after a long day.
The selections of drinks are pretty good with many signature local cocktails that might be interesting for your foreign friends, otherwise you get the standard beers on the tap and house pours.
I enjoyed the peanuts and biscuit sticks that come along with the beer i ordered and well, i love the entire space. Service is generally good and attentive.
Crowd is mostly white collars and guest of the hotel.
Jap & Western Fusion Restaurant conveniently located at the newly renovated area outside BHG is a timely addition to the many new restaurants and cafes in this bustling shopping mall.
Adored the open concept sitting with low privacy walls and the casual service. The menu was pretty standard western with a touch of jap influenced desserts and served in interesting wooden platters and I must say the portion is for sharing (thats if you are a normal asian female eater).
Though we had to grab are own plain waters via the self-serve water bar... everything else was served and efficiently cleared when we finished.
We tries the bread tapas which had various flavors... its very much just baked bread with toppings such as salsa, salad, seafood, chunky chopped beef. It tasted yummy and good for appetizer.
Then we ordered a regular portion of pork ribs (upsize available) that arrived in a bed of premium salad. We drizzled on more olive oil and balsamic vinegratte and found the pork ribs to be soft and flavourful. (Will return for these ribs).
Service was efficient and price is pretty worth it though on a slight higher then average. Good portion and be sure to come early as the place could get pretty packed with people.
A pretty spacious restaurant with plenty of sitting and a good selection of Indonesian cuisines to choose from. Though a little noisy and we got seats near the entrance, we could still not able to eavesdrop at our neighbours, which also means they can't hear our conversation as well.
The menu was strictly an Indonesian affair however their drink selections was pretty interesting with soda floats and mocktails served in mini jugs. I opt for a Iced Lime Tea Cooler that was refreshing and less sugary while waiting for our orders to arrive.
1) Rojak Buah Buahan - which is a mixed tropical fruit salad with prawn paste is an excellent appetizer, both tantalizing and refreshing
2) Nasi Ayam Betutu Set - fried chicken with rice and other condiments was pretty interesting as the bright yellowish rice was formed as a pyramid and well the sambal chilli was extremely pedas.... touch it and it burnt my tongue. The rice was fragrant and chicken yummy.
3) Soto Betawi - Beef in soup with rice cakes was something i never triad before and I kinda fell in love with it. Savoury hot soup with slices of beef and rice cakes made a great combination
4) Ayam Goreng Kalasan - More fried chicken to go with our meal.
A satisfying meal and must say the price was okay. Dinner for two lavishly ordered came out to be about $50 .
Found the set meals on the menu pretty interesting as such we went in for a weekday lunch. Love the booth like seats at the side though not as spacious as we hope it would be but for a group of 4, this is pretty comfy.
Not many tables we noticed perhaps it could house about 40 - 60 people. The restaurant is not big yet space well utilized and walkways are large enough for walking and not banging or having to squeeze through tight spaces.
We loved the monthly specialities set meals. For this month would be salmon and we had a salmon gunkan sushi platter set meal which not only included a bento set of 6 different items, there is also 5 pieces of sushi with each piece of sushi with a thick slice of salmon cooked differently. I love the grilled one with mentaiko sauce on top, it tasted superbly yummy.
Lunch for 4 cost us about $20 - $25 each complete with japanese green tea and a good filling meal. We felt it was a good deal and service is good, especially when the food arrived pretty quickly.
Sure to return and hope to try out other monthly specialities.
I have always walked by but this time round i finally could beat the queue and get in for a good dinner.
Its a small supermarket cum Japanese restaurant that serve super fresh sashimi. Simply decorated, serving authentic and no frills fresh sashimi right from the display cabinate.
Service was not warm yet efficient and we were served to our seats in no time. While passing us the menu, the staff mentioned to us that we could go to the display fridge to choose our choice of Sashimi. Selection was good and they also do have sea urchin and while we picked our choice sashimi, we were served in a pretty plate shortly.
Priced very reasonably and the other selections on the menu was quite well executed and portion not generous though yet enough for an asian. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and be sure to return...
