Dine in style, Dine at Spruce.. Its not just the good food or the smiley faces of the staff... Its the location and how they dressed up this former Fire Station. The place we are seating on used to be the home of wailing Fire Engines. I totally love the bright RED Humongous Doors that releases the Fire Engines out for their mission. Fully glassed allowing natural sunlight to come into the restaurant and the view of the busy road outside is just breathless.

The furniture is classically leather bound with the theme colour to be leather brown, black and white. Nostalgia and classy is how I feel! Dining here gets me a little excited as i always wanted to be a fireman when I was young. Love the high chairs and tables which is great for evening drinking table hanging gestures.

The menu if fabulous. Love their succulent mains and wonderful concoction of desserts, however we popped by this place for a short drink, as such we only had drinks and dessert. Though I'm sure to return to try their food menu, we ended up with some wine and sundae while some of us had coffee and a very potent lemonade.

The Lemonade is a must mention. Its a concoction of all the wildly tangy stuffs... Lemons of course and loads of mint. Its extremely acidic yet I love it. It tingles the tongue yet goes down easy. Love the mint and it reminds me of mojito somehow.

The sundae ($15) is a potent creation of everything chocolaty. Chocolate ice cream on chocolate brownie drizzled with chocolate sauce and more chocolate stuffs. Its yummy and good to share. There is also a good selection of cakes that we didn't manage to find space in our tummys to have.

Love the place, the ambiance but while you check out the restroom, be sure to try every handle as they do leave the door closed and the handle is pretty heavy. Do remember to make reservations to avoid disappointment as its usually crowded during weekends and dining hours.

If you want a healthy meal filled with crispy green vegetables, low in carbohydrate and oil, then the Vietnamese menu is just right for you.

Wrap & Roll serves predominantly Vietnamese snacks and cuisine and not forgetting their fabulous thirst quencher 'BaBaBa' (333) Beer. If you haven't tasted the viet 333 Beer, you are missing out something great. Its light tasting with a kick, creamy and easy to down.

For Appetizers, we have crispy prawn pancakes with succulent fillings and crispy skin pancake. Its soft and melts in your mouth. The Mustard Lettuce Rolls with Prawns & Pork is also yummy. Very Vietnamese style with loads of juicy fresh shredded veg, this dish is refreshing and the mustard loads a kick.

The Grilled Beef in lemon grass is one of my favourites. Beef is well done yet still retains its juice and the lemongrass made the entire entree refreshing and lemony... Something we don't usually find elsewhere.

We had Bánh Xèo Crispy Crepe with Prawns, Pork, Beansprouts & Mushrooms for mains and its a good size pan cake made of bean like paste which is large enough for two of us. Accompanied the pancake is a huge bowl of salad that supposedly to go with the pancake. The chilli sauce is tangy and not too spicy. It goes extremely well with the seafood and I simply love the texture of the crispy and soft pancake with the crunchy veg dipped in sweet and sour chilli sauce.. The clash of these texture and taste is simply amazing.

Great and healthy joint to satisfy my sweet tooth. I totally love frozen yoghurt as its a great replacement to normal ice creams but less in creme and less sugar!

FRolick makes frozen yogurt cool and sexy with the cheesy taglines and cool looking badges and decals flashing catchy taglines that simply speaks about the hot looking babe serving me the froyo...

I find their froyo more natural and tasted not too sweet however a little more icy then I like it. Though I would love a more creamy and tart texture and taste, their regular brew is just right for me on a warm day. The toppings are a mixture of healthy nuts and cereal.

I had a good experience and finds it pleasant. Especially with the cup c froyo :)

Egg Tart Evolution... This is what I call these multi-flavoured pastries. I was impressed by their variety in flavours like cheese, kaya, chocolate chip, double chocolate, etc... And what was more surprising is the BIG TASTE. I though chocolate chip egg tarts will taste as weird as the cheese ones and I'm so wrong.

The flavors is exactly as illustrated with a creamy eggy finishing. The curt filling is soft and smooth while the short bread crust crispy and buttery. It tasted not too eggy and the flavors pairs well. I think the pricing is acceptable and a box of 12 is good for a family of 4.

This is one of the smaller scales library located at Bukit Batok Mall on the top level. Though small, it still carries a good range of fiction and non-fiction reads including magazines and newspapers for daily browsing.

Its a Saturday evening and the library seemed to be crowded. Perhaps its because they have some story telling programs for the children and anxious parents waiting to collect their kids are pacing up and down the entrance to the library.

Neatly arranged shelves clearly labeling the types of reads available, I went straight to the travel section in preparation for my up coming trip to whichever country that interest me. There in my face, I find 2 rows of book shelves packed to brim with travel books of all types of titles sorted by their country names and regions on the globe. I settled upon two south east Asian countries (Laos & Cambodia) and picked up 2 books per country because different authors have a different perspective of the country.

After making my selection I went to the magazine area to pick up some leisure reading materials, as the quota for borrowing has been raised to 6 books per user, as such I have 2 more quota for magazines. I picked up one Discovery magazine and one on gadgets (T2) and proceeded to the automated borrowing kiosk. Borrowing is such a breeze now, no need for individual stamping of books, you can now choose the number of books you intend to borrow and leave the entire pile on the sensor and it can sense every book. This has made borrowing quick and reliable as each title will appear on the screen.

The environment is reader conducive and they do have some space on exhibits. I was glad to find less students settling on the floor and more seats and designated quiet reading areas. It was a enjoyable experience and very comfortable to hang all day by the library.

Will I come again: YES for SURE i need to return my books right...

Will I bring my friends: Reading is a very personal thing, I would tell my friends about this great experience, however I won't bring them along.
