We decided to continue our interrupted dinner at NYDC and we were thrilled at the hospitality. Though they are closing in an hour's time, we are treated to whatever seats we wanna seat.
Greeting us at the entrance is a cheerful looking lady, she was careful to warn us about the steps heading down to the large and airy dining area and offered a comfy 4 seater, however we would like some privacy as there was a large group nearby we decided to ask for a corner seat. She allowed us to seat anywhere we like and I was grateful.
Menus and table was set for 4 and she offered us ice water shortly after we sat down. We ordered some pretty interesting drinks.. called the ELEPHANTCINO which arrived in clear jugs, icy cold with fruity flavours. We had the berry one which tasted BERRY NICE and Mint and Lime which is extremely lemonady. We also had a Nacho with Spinach and artichoke sauce which tasted interesting and healthy. The nachos crunchy and the sauce healthy and flavorful. This is the first time I have eaten artichoke and I'm bewildered.
Deep in our conversation, the cheerful staff actually asked for our last orders at 9.30am. While we dine on, they were nice to have packed up the place while not interrupting our conversation. We kindly said goodbye at before they close at 10pm and with cheerful goodbyes we left.

I had a really hard time at dinner last night at this Sakae Sushi outlet. Not that I have not patronized this outlet before since my schooling days but this time round they really did manage to piss me off really badly.
Despite the many improvements such as new installation of IPADs instead of using PCs to present their menu and the quick response online DIY ordering system, not to forget the new dining furniture and a spanking new menu, all of these goes down the drain when service gives a bad name.
So this is what happened...
At 8pm last evening me and my pal decided to have dinner at Sakae sushi, despite hurling 2 huge backpacks, we were shown to a face to face twin sitter, as I noticed my pal had a difficult time placing her backpack, i asked the lady staff (Management trainee) if we could move to a larger seat inside the restaurant and her reply was "Its FULL, There's NO MORE SPACE" and yet i saw many empty tables inside. So i asked her if she could bring a chair for us to place our bag packs and her reply was no, you could place it near the entrance where the counter was. I was thinking..."*excuse me... this is my bag pack, not a baby stroller". So she took our order and walked off leaving us uncomfortable and crowded. Shortly i noticed, there are bags of merchandises and bag packs on the floor along the walkway of our stretch of table by customers sitting in similar seats as we were. I mean isn't it more dangerous for these hazards to be placed on the walkway while your staff is serving hot soupy food. I mean somebody could trip and fall and not to mention the sharp edges of the furniture there.
Not all our food arrived and we wanted to browse for more, check our orders and order on the IPAD, however the IPAD is not working properly. We checked our orders and its empty, perhaps because we didn't order anything on the pad but we can't scroll the menu and it just kept being stuck on one screen and we can't seem to get anybody's attention to hand us the menu. While we finally managed to get the attention of another male staff (associate) to hand us the menu and refill my cold green tea, we waited more than 10 minutes for it. Even after sending a HELP notice on our IPAD, we still didn't get helped. So my pal just stood up and stroll over to the counter to get the menu OURSELVES and REFILL MY COLD GREEN TEA OURSELVES. Even when the staffs noticed what we are doing, they did not even approach to take over or assist us in SERVING OURSELVES.
I noticed the male staff (associate) who was supposed to be bringing us our menu and ice green tea was just walking around aimlessly not doing anything in particular and some simple cashing duties, we were just utterly disappointed.
We like Sakae sushi... Even though our favourite items are off the menus and the prices increased through the years, we have been an avid supporter of this sushi restaurant chain, matter of fact we even got their membership card because we have always been dining there, but this time round, they really did it for us. We are Sad and Disappointed to be treated this way. We have been to other outlets such as Harbourfront, Bishan Junction 8, etc and service is pretty good and food came as ordered as well.
So in summary, we guess the management for this outlet is not passionate enough to manage this outlet properly. The staffs that were bringing out the food from the kitchen were efficient yet those with a huge tags that are stationed near the entrance are not doing their jobs well.. Its irony right... I thought the higher you go, the more professional you get? Please rethink your service.... We left halfway through our meal because we just couldn't take it anymore.
PLAY Club is truly one of its kind. Its fun, its happening, star-studded and filled with pretty looking boys most of the time. This is one of the most happening boy's club in town and the venue for many elaborating fun programs such as Fashion events, drag classes, launch of plays and other artistic adventures.
Spanning a huge space of 4000 sqft, be sure to put your bags away at the locker facility and bring only your plastic and mobile. The huge bar and plentiful tables is packed almost every night and hogged mostly with the most delicious looking men in town. The crowd is fun, eager to participate and as the night gets deeper, the happiness index goes higher.
The large stage and the dance floor gives lotsa space for events and fashion shows get exciting with great music and more dancing. The house DJ spins a thrilling mix with the drinks so potent, the fun factor inevitably also rises. The thing i like most is the fountain privy... There are only 2 cubicles for restrooms which are unisex and an unguarded stretch of standing urinal at the side for inhibited easing. The prim and wash area is a round fountain in the middle with exotic statues spilling water out of their mouth. The design is fabulously intriguing.
Its a great place to hang out and for night fun. Its almost impossible for anything straight and for ladies to pick up guys its more than impossible but in the name of fun its totally enjoyable.
So if you are feeling curious or just want some excitement, this is the place to go :)
I didn't take any pictures as I've seen some celebs here. :)
This is great a place to hangout with your friends. It is open everyday and is a great joint to go crazy on the drinks. Located around some really nice clubs, DYMK serves the most potent and value for money drinks. Its a convert of an old shophouse, so don't really expect huge dancing spaces and large lavatory, matter of fact they feature a Unisex toilet system which is pretty exciting.
No private rooms however they do have a few levels of balconies and dance floor. It sure feels like a house party. You could either hang by the high tables with your friends or around the leather couch area for a quick chat. The drinks are potent and they do also have a liquid buffet that is a head knocker. No live band just straight piped music and occasionally you get the luxury of a DJ.
The night I went, it was BOYS Night.. You get lotsa cute handsome pretty looking boys in their glammy suits, funky shirts and OSAKA 6 tees. While the night deepens, crazy fun begins and I must say I really had lotsa fun. So if you are in for potent drinks and a night of boys fun... this is the place to head on to... No Joke, the drinks are sure worth every penny.
As far as service is concern it is grossly understaffed. No service is much observed other than payment at the entrance and drink collection/ordering at the bar.
