    171. KU DÉ TA (Mbs)

Situated on the top level where the infinity pool is, KU DE TA is the night spot to be seen. For those who has the fear of heights or dread long elevator rides, the elevator that brings you up to this level is fast yet you won't feel as though you are falling. Its a comfy ride all the way up besides popping my ears twice.

Be sure to use the ladies first before you enter the club as the ladies are situated outside and you have to go down some stairs before you could use them, there are two locations for ladies actually but you have to walk. The entrance is small, however the view is BIG. Be sure to bring along a good camera to capture the beautiful night view of the Singapore Town. Buildings were lighted up and the laser show at the MBS shopping wing is a BLAST from space.

The entire lounge is in a semi air-conditioned state and balconies are all over. Its cool however i do feel a little humid. When the night gets crowded, I could feel more air and human stench, not so strong. The crowd is more or less a mix of tourist, hotel guest and yuppies from town. Theres a huge dance floor and curved bar side. No live music but you have a cool DJ spinning some top hits all night long.

Most people just go for the view and the alfresco environment looking down the balcony. Shoppers becomes tiny dots and the congested CBD area becomes like an art piece of LED lighted LEGO.

The music is not very fantastic however service pretty good. Servers are attentive, quick and efficient. Its a great place to hang and enjoy the view, however for rainy days or hazy seasons, its not advisable. Oh yar... out of all the drinks i had, their Cosmopolitan sucks...

A place to be seen and enjoy the beautiful view. You sure feel like being Top of the World or Top of Singapore.....

Just renovated, repainted with conversion of facilities. The fairway country club is one that brings me many fond memories. I remembered hanging by the pool and the gym during my school days when its a little run down... but not anymore. With the new renovation, the entire place is spick and span.

The golf range had a face lift, old tennis court turned into futsal courts and bright lightings with pretty glossy paintwork. One thing i felt pretty sad about is the 9 hole mini golf course. I always wanted to try a hand at that however, it is no more available. I think perhaps a paintball area is setting up and me and my family look forward to that.

The Japanese restaurant in the club house makes pretty good meals. Though I find it a little pricey, however the quality of food is pretty good. Its old school style bento set meals or ala-cart menu with a buffet to choose from. The staff are friendly and farmiliar with their club, i guess most have worked there for many years and I like their casual and friendly service attitudes. It makes me feel at home.

I enjoyed the range very much and the quietness of this place. If you would like some beer, there is also a beer kiosk by the side of the range where you can chill with friends. :)

This really special bakery is situated at the linkway of ION and Wheelock Place. They are the ones responsible for polluting the air with the smell of freshly baked bread, which i find extremely enticing. As its almost always crowded on weekends and the shop always had a long queue of customers waiting to pay for their merchandises, I haven't had a chance to try their bread and cakes until last week.

Watching the queue not yet forming into a long snack, i quickly picked whatever that entices the eye. There were many nice choices, the breads were colourful and each like a piece of art. Flavours were exciting and like a breath of fresh air were not the nominal floss or ham kinda regular stuffs. I picked the 'POPCORN CHICKEN' (S$1.70) and a "Brioche Banana" (S$2.80). I personally find their prices a little to the high side however I saw how the lady pack my food and decided that the extra higher price is worth it. My Bread were packed individually into nice custom sized boxes as such the bread fit snugly into the box and maintained it beautiful neat look all the way to my destination despite knocks, swings and crushing about.

The popcorn chicken was a bun with fried chicken toppings. Was of a good size and tasted savory. Chicken was crunchy and bread soft and fluffy. The Brioche Banana is a sweetish bread with banana and a sweet glistering gloss over the top. The bread is soft and fluffy and of the right sweetness and fruitiness. Excellent design, presentation and taste.

Service was pretty prompt and the selection is quite good. Will look forward to try more of their other stuffs.

Handmade candies are such a delight and it seems healthier to snack of them as well. Watching Lollytalk candy masters manage the raw materials, melting, molding and rolling the candy, producing various flavors, mixture of colours and even simple text messages is such a delight.

I enjoyed watching candy making processes. It never fails to educate and enlighten me on the snack I cannot leave without. The hammering, throwing of the candy dough, clashing of metal while cutting, the heat of the processes and the smell of hot candy makes the entire experience of watching them enjoyable and memorable.

They are also generous with samples and you get to taste a few of the various flavors they have. I mean the flavors of the candies range from fruity to exotic, colours are more then the rainbow with designs in the middle and even text. I love these shiny candies and whenever I pass by this shop, I am bound to get a few bags for gifts, for snacks and to feel happy...

Do you have a sweet tooth? Do you love aromatic, caramalised, freshly made popcorn? Then you must drop by Garrett Popcorn to get yourself a bag of these delicious titbit.

Whenever I walk pass the many outlets of Garrett popcorn shop, the aroma of freshly made popcorn never fail to well up the desire if I should buy a bag home. Usually while considering a small bag, I will end up buying the large one. Reason being... its more worth it. $11 for the small, $13 for the medium and $15 for the large.. of course take the large....

There are many flavours to choose from, of course the cheapest being the non-flavored... regular pops, then they have my favourite the caramel flavor, the cheese, the chicago mix which is a mix of caramel and cheese. The premium flavors are caramel corn with almonds, caramel with macademia and caramel with mixed nuts.

I love nuts but nothing bits good old fashion caramel coated pops. I cannot imagine how much caramel was put into that tub of freshly popped corns... Each popcorn is coated with a luxurious layer of caramel that goes "CRUNCH" when you chew on it.. while you are still enjoying your crunch and the salty sweetish caramel on your tongue, the buttery taste of the softer popcorn fills your mouth. Its extremely sweet I must say, however caramel also packs a tinge of saltiness. In this way the taste is rather balanced and you could continue to crunch away. I mean I don't really enjoy dead sweet snacks and couldn't finish a mini bar of snickers, I could kinda polish off half a small bag of Garrett Caramel corns in like half an hour while window shopping.

The cheese flavor is interesting.. I mean we had salted popcorns, but this cheesy corns were sprinkled endogenously with cheese powder until every ball of corn is covered with these yummilicious cheese powders. Its musky, creamy and extremely appealing to some of my friends. To share, we tend to order the chicago mix, in that way.. the caramel lovers and the cheese lovers would not fight :)

They are also very generous with their samples. Sampling is almost no obligation and generous. You can practically try every flavor including the premium nut ones before you buy. The Nut Flavors are mostly caramel coated with nuts in the midst of the corns. I must say... they use premium ingredients and generous with the nuts. Though a little pricey, I find it very worth it.
