Me and my colleagues decided to have a quick lunch at this new shopping mall called Star Vista. We used to lunch at Rochester Park however this time round we decided to take a walk to this new shopping mall that looks like a spaceship.

There are many choices of restaurants, cafe and even the food court looks interesting however as we wented something DELICIOUSLY EVIL.. we decided to go for TEXAS CHICKEN instead. We have to have the indoor seating as its too warm in the bright afternoon sun to be having alfresco as such we decided on a table for four right next to the glass panel.

We were quickly served at the counter while we ordered our food. Service was excellent and the portion is fabulously good. We find the chicken in bigger sizes then our regular white haired colonel and the skin much more crispy. The set meal prices were good and we feel extremely worth it.

The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sides were great and there is a promotion going on that if you are a NTUC card member you get to upsize your sides for free as such all of us had an UPSIZED SIDE with our 2 piece chicken, a drink and a biscuit. The spicy flavor is indeed a little too spicy for me however I love the original crispy flavor. The sides I tries were the Mashed Potatoes which is creamy and smooth and the coleslaw is a little not to my liking as I could taste the raw cabbage alot rawer then any other slaws... The biscuit I do not enjoy as much though buttery and fluffy on the inside, i find it a little salty and too crumbly...

Overall the experience is a good one and the chicken tasted FANTASTIC.

This is my favorite channel as I always find something interesting to watch when channel 5 and 8 fails me... This is the channel to hang...

I love the cartoons they air, always nice, always timely and with such a good variety, we are almost spoiled for choices. Most importantly I seldom see repeats. However I am pretty dismayed because the cartoons in this channel only starts at 9am.. Don't you know that children starts waking up earlier and earlier and its a good habit to wake up early and sleep early. Not only that... more and more adults love cartoon too and they spend their early hours in the gym watching news and more news... which is both boring and depressing though informative.

In the evening, at about 8 to midnight, the documentary programs are great. Love the travel and nature genres. On weekends, we do see a good variety of artistic programs such as concerts and dramas and I caught a few concerts and symphony that I fell in love with during some stayhome weekends and this is spectacular...

I love the channel, it always has something informative for me and is always timely... Longer airing hours please... this channel always keeps me occupied

        188. MediaCorp Channel 8
           16 Apr 2013 at 10:28 am
I think mediacorp channel 8 programs and dramas have increased through the years... The quality of television programmes are very much tuned to the taste of local viewers however I would expect less repeats in imported movies especially on holidays.

I'm also tired of the longstanding soap operas (taiwanese in particular) that lasted for thousands of episode, though it does bear an appeal for some audiences but 3 hours long soap marathon on a weekend is just too much for me to take in. I expect to see better productions and stage designs as with digital channels, we tend to see clearer and more intent or synchronizing backgrounds. The story line has to be more interesting as well though we still love the "and they lived happily ever after" endings, a little twist and turn here n there do jive up the mood.

As a matter of fact i still love the older dramas such as one that has got historical value and one that recounts the footsteps of our forefathers. I think that will also help educate our future generations in an attractive manner.

The PG ratings and different ratings for all programs aired is a great way for parents to guide their children. I am extremely receptive of the way television shows responsibility in helping parents categorize different programs with a proper guideline, even the timing of the programs aired take into consideration in types of viewers.

Though there is still much to improve in content and creativity, I see channel 8 improving and getting there. Strive on :)

Enjoyed the selection and varieties available at this outlet of Wine Connections. Though the shopfront looked small, The shop is pretty spacious and deep. It managed to house a pretty good range of wines on the rack, has a glass cellar inside and loads of accessories stacked neatly on the racks.

I was impressed by the range of wines they carry, from the very economical less than $15 red/white wine to the thousands of dollars exclusive wine estate produces... If you find something you like, you can also consider getting a crate and more discounts will be available. However, I am no wine connoisseur and I'm the easy drinking kind.. 2 bottles later.. everything that goes in smooth is considered good... as such i picked up a few bottles for ad-hoc drinking and some sweet and sparkies for guest...

I personally find the prices pretty economical and selections good. Though you could find similar wines in cold-storage or ntuc, the price is slightly cheaper here in Wine Connections for the same thing. My favourite is the Gewurztraminer and I'm glad I could find a few other estates here besides the regular ones i always see in cold storage. Its a great shopping experience and staff is knowledgeably familial with their products making the shopping easy, fast and efficient.

They sometimes also do have some exotic beers and liquor of other kinds, so be sure to pop by. Even if you are not planning to get anything, this is a fabulous shop to educate yourself in what trending for drinks....

This brings back some great memories... The base note of oven baked floury crust, the heart note of tomato based pizza sauce, top note of savoury pepperoni topping it off with browning cheese of 3 kinds in a sizzling pan.....

My lunch at Pizza Hut is a pretty fulfilling one. They have these really good lunch deals for set meals and its pretty filling... I always enjoy the personal pans.. so small and cute, sliced in 4 pieces, these crispy quartets are filled with goodness within, covered in browning cheese. Every bite is mixture of emotions.... The taste of cheese and pepperoni explodes in your mouth coupled by the sweetness of green pepper, onions and tomato comes later.. The food is my kind of comfort food. I practically grew up on pizza hut PIZZAs... being the occasional reward for that good grades or the treats somebody would give me... I feel that Pizza hut's pizzas have become more affordable through the years.. though i still miss the eat all you can salad bar that used to be the center piece of the restaurant.

This outlet of the restaurant is pretty spacious. The usual deco that brands every outlet... the staff i find them not so attentive however the one that stood at the small counter outside to show you in is pretty friendly. The atmosphere is casual and if you arrive in a big group, you could all be arranged to be seated together.
