Maybe its not the best place for sushi but its the one i find most affordable. Plus theres the Halal Hei Sushi so better.

Came here for some sushi with my gf. Had fun using that computerised ordering thing and got for ourselves loads of food.

Ika teriyaki was a wee bit on the rubberry side but good.
    Teriyaki was tasty.

Chicken Cheese katsu was mayb a bit on the salty side but it was cheesy and nice. so no complains.
I can always count on my Agedashi Tofu to be delicious, nice and firm and the sauce is alwez the best. Not too salty and goes well with wasabe.

My salmon skin inari was ordered twice. Probably my favourite item on the menu. I tried the Lobster salad Gunkan and i liked it alot. Gonna add it on my must haves.

Salmon and unagi nigiri was fresh and good. With the wasabe even better.

Had like 18 coloured plates and more dishes. Left the place with our own member card and bellies so full we felt 4 months pregnant.

Service was good. Quite empty but it was a monday and food came quick.

    Overall a good experience.
Will return another day to try the pizza. Their teriyaki chicken looks good

Sakae Sushi/ Billy Bombers or Vientai Kitchen.

I have this problem of alwez going to places im used to..in short no sense of adventure. So now im making it a point to try out new places to makan. Out of those 3 choices, Vientai Kitchen is the one place i have yet to try. The menu looks inticing especially the calamari so yesterday 8th march, me n the bf(although pressed for time-it was 745 n he had to be home at hougang b4 930) decided to give it a shot. I noticed that Capitaland Card members get discount so thought can use the Vouchers.

I immediately skipped to the appetizer items and quickly decided to try out the Fish Cakes - $5.70, Viet Prawns - $5.70 and Viet Calamari - $5.70(yup thats a lotta Viets)..

For main, Bf choze the Pho Bo(beef soup noodles) - $7.70 and i Choze he Viet Style Fried Kway Teow(chicken) - $8.70.

Drinks were at a ridiculous price of $3.50 but at least we got the whole can.

Food came quite fast.like 10-15 mins. The kway teow looked really good. Had the chilli powder and ground peanuts at the side. Tried the noodles sans the two but it tasted unspicy. After mixing up the noodles did it taste better. But it tastes like wall kway teow. Can get the same at Sakura only diff kind of noodles. But the ground peanuts made it taste different. Bfs noodle tasted ok. Can taste the herbs(prob lemongrass i tink).

Think the fish cakes were good too. The herbs were really kicking in after I tasted it. Calamari was nice too. Didnt really like the tangy sauce but I loved that it wasnt too oily, or rubbery. Very nice. The viet Prawns were my favourite. Wrapped in popiah skin n fried. I gobbled up 3 pieces(including the tail). Think the food was abit too spicy for the bf tho.

Value wise, I think the appetizers were a bit steeply priced, 5 pieces of fish cakes n 5 pieces of Prawns for 5.70 each is like 1.20 per piece. Calamari was worth it though.

      Total Damage done - $40.50.
With sc(besides juzt serving the food-what service charge?)
      and gst
      $47.67.

The food really taste in between Vietnam and Thai, neither here nor there. I will prefer to go for real Thai prawn cake and vietnam calamari and beef soup for the perfect taste.

Since my 1st visit last year, I have been wanting to make a 2nd visit but the pocrastinator in me didnt allow it..

so finally my bf n i both thought we'd give it a visit since we were watching a movie at vivo.

we came for the happy hour buffet which was at 33 per person.
it was pretty empty when we arrived so we got most of the food just after it came out of the kitchen.

first of course was the salad bar. i attacked the cauliflower fondue wich was cauliflower covered witha cream cheese like sauce and baked. the pasta salad which was reallu good. not too salty. the potato poppers or sumthin like that.which was just well fried potatoes but my favourite. taboulleh which i remembered was better the first time i came. the butter kailan, nice at first but too buttery abit later and the baked aubergine just to be adventurous. after tasting it i decided not to be adventurous. but for aubergine fans it it nice.

then the meats came..1st was my chicken thigh, nicely done and very juicy and flavourful..but a bit too flavourful though, slightly on the salty side to me. fish came 2nd, bf said it was salmon, i call it fish, well cooked and slightly flaky but not till i couldnt pick it up with my fork, tasty. next up, beef, after two slices i gave it to my bf..well done and quite hard(im not a beef gal), then lamb, it was so nice, not too salty, cooked just right, i was in heaven, some other things came but my fave beef was the cornef beef like one and the part with the fats. not sure of the name. loved the garlic bread. and the complimentary bread like thingy they gave at first.

Two of the men carrying the meat were particularly my favourites as they took notice when i declined the pork and made it a point to not come to my table when they were serving the pork items. and they were really nice n friendly too(bf dont need to worry i wnt b leaving u for them..unless they were orlando bloom). Plates were cleared almost immediately when they saw we were done although one poor waitress almost took away my drink till she realised i wasnt done.

liked that they even accomodated my request to be seated near the windows. service was good, kinda liked the ambiance. chocolate fondue was nice but too full to eat.

i doubt ill be returning anytime soon. Maybe next year but it is true. come here and eat loadsa meat. after that maybe can lay off awhile.

ended up spendin 104 cos drinks were $5 a glass and we ordered erm 4..so thats like 23.40 for drinks alone..gah

Due to my salad cravings, ended up going to sizzlers for a meal Fri nyt.

The last time I was here was probably about 8 years ago. A long time since then and the place is unchanged. This time I tried the Spicy grilled chicken and dory combo. Bf had the steak with shrimp.

Salad bar was loaded. I tried the salads of coz, the pasta thingy and potato salad was good. Clam Chowder was alright. like the canned soup kind. I liked the singapore noodle, which i mixed with some pasta and topped it off with nachos. My favourite from the salad bar was probably the brocolli and mushrooms.

Food came pretty fast..10-15 mins i think. My dishes were alright. chicken was good. Spicy and not hard to slice(prob bcos its the thigh) and fish was a bit on the thin side though. But good. bf liked it. I didnt try his steak though, ate the fats(my fave) and i ate one of the bfs prawns(they only gave like 2)..but the prawns were good, could really taste the garlic butter..pity only 2 pieces.

Oh yeah almost forgot the complimentary garlic bread like thingy. Was just 2 pieces of toast..nothing to shout about.

They have their own ice cream station and to my happiness they had the vanilla and choc combo soft serve which was my fav at mcdonalds. Happily got myself that and topped it with choc chips and caramel sauce.

I did like that the drinks were only 2.00 and came in relatively ok sized glasses. At least that wasnt a rip off

It was nice reliving my pri sch days at this joint. Service was okay. Waiters were nice and attentive. It started off not too noisy but once the dinner crowd showd up then the noise went up. Prices are on the high side though. on a good note. Salad bar was good.

           bread   chicken dish   calamari
We were planning on going to The Rice Table but it has long closed @ suntec so I suggested Tony Roma's. Price is a bit steep but I still have the cupon that gives me 50% off my 2nd main.

ORderd side salad and Shared the 1/2 bbq chicken(with a choice of 2 sides), chose mashed potato and fries with my colleague. and we orderd the calamari too and they actually asked if i wanted the calamari and salad before or together with the main. Noticing that i was malay, the waiter even informed me that the salad had bacon bits on top and asked if i wanted it omitted *yay for service*
my colleagues all orderd the ribs set.

Food came in around 10-15 minutes.

We were served with complimentary bread which was nice. reminds me of the delifrance baguette and i liked the garlic spread. Ended up eating the calamari with the spread.

The chicken that came was huge. And it was delicious. Juicy, succulent and tasty. Wasnt too overwhelmed with the bbq sauce but still nice and could taste the tangy bbq sauce. Mashed potato was the 2nd best iv tried(best is still popeyes) loved the gravy which had melted cheese in it and it wasnt salty. I liked the fries too, thin but filling and crunchy. And not laden with salt too.
My colleagues all seemed to enjoy their meals..

Calamari was good, passed my non rubber test tho found it a bit too flour-ey. Think sice I have my voucher I shall return again.

Its servings are enough for two and even then we couldnt finish so it was value for money. Service was good. Kept refilling our drinks and did not chase us out at 11 when they were closing. and I liked the decor, would want to sit at the booth seats next time.

Overall a good dining experience for 12 rowdy people
