I've heard so much about ya kun's that I decided to try it out. I was at the taka outlet and I ordered a 2 pieces of toast. I must say that it tasted ok, or maybe it just doesn't taste lousy. I feel that ya kun's toasts may have quite a variety, but it is definitely is overrated and over-priced. Perhaps it does have a good reputation due to the many franchise outlets available all over Singapore, thus many people don't feel that the food there is over-priced. However, I personally feel that toasts and coffee of such quality could be available at other coffee shops, and at cheaper price too.
This place is literally a candy empire. With the large variety of candies, chocolates and snacks from all over the world, it will definitely satisfy the taste, preference and cravings of everyone!
As most things are not of local brands, the products there would definitely be slightly more expensive. But some of them are really good. I personally like the salt and vinegar flavoured chips they have there, though I can't remember what brand is it. But the stuff there are practically of high quality and almost all look good!
Great place for one with sweet tooth or one who has the habit of snacking a lot ! (:
One bad thing is there are really few outlets around. I only know of two, each at Vivocity and Millenia Walk. And so these outlets are always really packed..
This is a coffee shop located near the Eunos MRT station in the housing estates. It may seem like just a neighbourhood coffee shop but I think this place has quite nice and affordable fish slice noodles! I was told of this place by a friend who lives there. I went to try, and I really liked it! One of the nicer ones I've tried in the east, with quite tasty soup.
Prior to that, I went once and bought a packet for take away, but by the time I ate it, it was cold and not very nice. It's advisable to people who intend to take away, to eat there.
I'm so glad someone started reviewing on this shop, and especially the parkway branch! I wanted to post on this shop to, but I don't remember the name of the shop.
Well anyway, I think this place is a good shop to pick japanese snacks. It's really convenient and it's almost like going to japan already! My relatives once brought some snacks back from their holiday in Japan and I really liked them, but I couldn't really bear to finish eating them because I won't be going to Japan in the near future, and neither would anyone I know of. But when I saw this shop at parkway, and found the exact same snacks that I had, I was really glad! There are many other delectable tidbits there too. For people who really love japanese food, or those who simply love snacks, you should go explore this place!
I like this place too! Parking is not a problem most of the time, but getting to this place is actually rather inconvenient for non-drivers. Nonetheless, I would agree that people give this place a shot.
Apart from the typical stuff mentioned in the previous review (they are quite nice fyi), there are also other dishes that you can try. For instance, there is the fried prawn sushi (not too sure what's it called in japanese, tempura maki maybe?) and futomaki. I never tried the prawn sushi prior to eating here, but after trying the one here, I liked it very much. I've tried it at other japanese restaurants, but I still think the one at Fuurin is good. There's also this beef dish (cooked beef that is. they have the raw one too) that I quite like. I'm lousy at names, I can only describe by saying it's cooked beef. But it's really worth a try!
If I'm not wrong, they have buffets on certain days and I find these buffets really worthwhile for big eaters.
