       dsc00439edit.JPG   Waiting Area - Comfy couch!   insidedeparturehall2.JPG   dsc00413edit.JPG
(Now this is weird, I don't know what category to put this under!)

I was at Terminal 3 not too long ago! Had a free ticket to go in to check out the place. Changi Airport is definitely one of the nicest airport I've seen before, and terminal 3 is definitely not an exception (:

The design of the place is very modern and gives a somewhat futuristic feel. The place is quite different from T1 and T2 as they seem to make the place look more eco-friendly, with the plants on the wall and the green lift! Also, there are a lot of toilets around! This new terminal is REALLY BIG I say, and it's a good thing there are toilets everywhere!

I personally like the waiting area and basically the whole place after you check-in! There's going to be new shops that you've never seen in Singapore before. For soccer fanatics, they'll be opening a FIFA shop. I'm guessing they sell soccer stuff?

The interior design of the departure area is very interesting too. They make use of water features to give a cosy and warm feel in the middle of the departure area. On the B wing, they have a koi pond and a butterfly park. This is something refreshing to see in an airport! On the A wing, it's the absolutely-ladies' wing. They've got things like a powder room and shopping, shopping and MORE shopping! (All right that's basically in the whole place actually.) But the departure area is really so big that you need one whole day to walk I bet.

The waiting area is quite cool too! The chairs are aligned in a casual way, making the place look very comfortable. (The chairs are definitely comfortable actually.) It has uniquely designed couches and ceiling lights. On its own, these individual pieces of furniture are rather boring, but put together, it makes the place look very warm and welcoming. And with the view of the runway, it makes waiting time less boring too.

It's a pity though that unless you're going overseas, you probably won't be able to see the nice facilities they have. But on the whole, the new T3 is definitely great! I'm going to wait till the airport is officially open and I definitely will depart from T3 one day! (For the sake of being able to enjoy the facilities in there too... hahahah!) :D

(i'm not much of a photographer, so there aren't that many pics! oh and don't mind the weird "title"(s).)

This place is a bar plus restaurant at the ground level of Amara Hotel, but I was there only for dinner.

Initially, I didn't quite know what this place was. I was just looking for a place to sit but it was pretty early for dinner. I only knew it after I sat there for 20 min, until someone finally noticed my presence.

I was too early for dinner, so I decided to take a look at their snacks menu. Probably because it's a hotel, things are more expensive. The snacks cost as much as, or even more than, dinner itself. So I decided to wait. While waiting, I wasn't served a cup of water but was approached by 3 different very unfriendly-looking waitresses. I thought it was because you had to pay for it (what with water not being complementary anymore..) so I didn't give it much thought.

Finally, I ordered a bowl of Vietnamese Beef Noodles for dinner. It cost me $8 but the portion was so small it wouldn't have took me more than 5 min to finish it. Not only was it expensive, the beef, although it tastes ok, looked like it was some overnight beef. While I was eating, a different person came to ask if I wanted anything to drink. I asked for a cup of ice water and one of those unfriendly-looking waitresses came with it, along with my bill. Only then did I realize that the drink was free, and it really made me wonder why did I not get my drink at all..

As the sky darkened, the place got really dark too (oh I was sitting outdoors..). Good thing I was almost done and about to leave. The place was poorly lit, I don't think I'll like eating in the dark...

I don't think I'll be going back again. Not with the expensive food and unfriendly faces coming to me all the time..

        First things first!
50% OFF SELECTED SLICES OF CAKES ON WEEKDAYS AFTER 5PM!
Woohoooo! Ok if this is nothing new to you, bear with me. It's not everyday that I see this at Coffee Bean! But unfortunately, it's only at this outlet that I saw this.

If you happen to be around the area, I think it's really worth dropping by after 5pm! Obviously, it's because you get cheaper cakes, but it's also because of the ambience there. As it normally is at food outlets in the business district, it's very quiet after the lunch hour and it makes it very nice to be sitting around alone, reading a book or just having some time for yourself.

In addition, the waiters and waitresses there are really nice too. They're very friendly people and I feel that when I take my orders, they don't seem to be uninterested in any way. It may be just a small gesture, however I find this friendly gesture is actually quite significant as it actually does affect the subsequent part of my experience there.

On the whole, of all the coffee bean outlets I've been to, I really like my experience at the CPF Building. If there's anyone looking for a nice coffee place to sit at, try here! (:

Sakae must be quite good, if not why is there always such a long queue outside? Well, I guess it's just because they have fast and relatively cheaper japanese food? Nonetheless, I joined the queue too.

I don't think there's much you can say about their service when you virtually talk to no one. Even orders are placed through the computer. The only time someone comes is when they have your orders.

Their food is average. I like the Fried Tofu as the skin was really crispy and the tofu was very soft. (Though I don't quite know the difference between that and Agedashi Tofu.) However, the plates of sushi that were on the conveyor belt were disappointing. The rice was rather dry and it didn't taste good at all. Felt like it was left on conveyor belt for a long time. I ordered the teppanyaki beef too and asked for it to be done medium rare. However the beef came out plain and very difficult to chew.

Not everything is bad, but I guess this just wasn't one of those "good" days..

Indian fast food! (I don't know if it's North or South though, I don't know how to tell the difference.)

When we talk about "fast food", we normally think of KFC, Macs etc. Maybe this is like the very common indian fast food restaurant. But I'd say they have way better service and food than KFC/ Mac (ok, price is way higher too..).

When I stepped into the restaurant and looked at the menu, I felt rather weird because the waiter was standing in front of my table waiting to take orders. But being my first time there, I was totally at lost! I didn't know how to order at all! One of the waiters then brought a photo album over to my table to make it easier for us to order (I think he realized our dilemma, especially after we took so long..). When we finally made our choice, I felt abit embarrassed that we took so long. But it was good to see that the waiter still took down your orders very patiently. I must say they are good sales people too! They ask if you wanna try anything else and all, without sounding pushy at all. In fact, you'd feel totally comfortable with the way they recommend other dishes for you to try and all.

I like the service here. They also make sure that their customers are enjoying their food and do go to tables once in awhile to ask if they enjoy their food. It's almost like the service you get at 5-star restaurants! (I'm not kidding..)

Food wise, I think I don't really know if it's good or not as I don't have any basis of comparison. I felt that the Tandoori Chicken tasted a bit like Satay but it went well with this green sauce thing. I liked the Pepper Chicken Masala. It goes very well with this dosa-like thing (I really don't know what they're called). But the chicken was very little. Nonetheless, it tasted good!

On the whole, I had a great time there even though I don't quite know what I was eating half the time! But the service and the food was good. I would love to go back another time, but after finding out how to order. Haha..
