The durians are not wonderful at all. When I told the staff that I would like to buy Cat Mountain King (Mao Shan Wang ) to take-away, I was immediately referred to a burly man who opened 2 large durians ( around 4kg per durian). I explained that I usually prefer medium-sized ones but he told me that these large ones were very good. When I asked to try, he only allowed me to take a small pinch of the durian flesh. Another guy then quickly weighed the durians. The burly guy put a 3rd large durian on the scale and said that he would charge me $400 for all 3 durians. I explained that I really would prefer smaller durians but the burly man insisted that I get these large ones because he already opened them. I felt pressurized and intimidated by the strong fierce men and in the end agreed to buy 1 of the large durians but paid a hefty sum of $170. Wow.. thats very expensive for durians... Maybe i'm ill-informed but isn't it a little too extravagant?
