Went back to changing appetite after a year because I miss their hokkaido cream cheese baked rice (it's darn good). But it's not on the menu anymore. In fact, I think they have cut down their menu in half. Food standards has dropped a little bit but still alright. Their servings are still pretty huge.
The 3 of us ordered: - Chicken and mushroom fajitas - Fish and chips with calamari - Parmesan Fish and chips
It was quite messy while eating the fajitas but fun at the same time. Though it is a western restaurant I could taste chinese sauces being used. It didn't really go well with the melted cheddar cheese.
Service was not bad. We were camwhoring while waiting for our food and this waiter came and asked if he could help us take the picture. However, it took them quite some time to fill our empty cups of iced water.
When we got there at around 5 pm, there was already quite a number of people eating. Every single table ordered from botak jones. Quite sad really. The rest of the stalls did not have much business other than the drink stall.
We ordered: - caesar salad (the dressing tasted weird. it has this fishy taste that we didn't like) - fish and chips (i liked that their tar tar sauce was homemade. different from the normal ones we usually eat) - botak burger - cajun chicken
I had the botak burger ($5.50) which looked small but after eating half of it, I was already full. The beef patty was rather tasteless so i ate it with chilli sauce. The fries were pretty good though. Not soggy and seasoned well.
I guess the price is worth it for their huge servings but in terms of taste and quality of food, not really...
Saw a couple of people eating the U-CRAZY-WHAT burger and it looked freaking insane. I think it is enough to feed me for the entire day.
Leonardsaid: always wanted to try botak jones, hear too much of its commercial on fm883, should really try it one of these days! 29 Mar 2008 at 2:08 pm

Oh man, where do I start? One word to describe Ice Monster = SHIOK.
Upon entering the shop, you will see lots of newspaper cuttings on the wall. But what captured our attention was the colourful pictures above the counter.
3 of us shared a jumbo mixed fruit snow ice ($8) . Contains kiwis, mangoes, strawberries and mango sorbet. The fruits were amazingly fresh. The mangoes were the sweetest of all. It's quite difficult to find sweet strawberries so we didn't complain about that.
As it was sweltering hot that day, the huge bowl of snow ice really refreshed us.
They have lots of other varieties as well - visit their website. You will be craving for it after looking (because I am).
Ice monster has opened another branch at plaza singapura. I heard they are selling crepes as well. Gotta try it soon!
I'm giving azabu sabo 4 stars solely based desserts and service. I have heard lots of bad reviews about their main courses so I don't think I am ever going to try them.
Desserts: The green tea sauce shaved ice ($8.90) was really good and refreshing. It contains red bean paste as well. Their soft-serve ice cream is not too sweet and has a smooth milky texture to it. The glutinous dumplings was perfect with the red bean paste.
Service: Even though we were only eating desserts, the waitress fills up our cups with green tea whenever it is empty.
I've been to azabo sabo more than once and I think it's a great place to have desserts.
I want to try their baked sweet potato with ice cream and hokkaido hot balls next!
This time round, I had stir fried glass noodles with beef instead of my usual seafood one. It had lots of flavour. Not too oily as well.
I love their mango salad too but the vegetables weren't very fresh on that day. So I was quite disappointed.
Overall service was good. Our cups are always filled once it reaches the halfway mark.
Somehow, I prefer the branch at City link even though the layout is abit squeezy.
