I L-O-V-E waraku loads! Ambience, service and food.
On the latest visit with my mom and brother, we ordered:
- Tonkatsu Set meal (comes with vegetable salad, potato salad, 1 huge piece of tonkatsu, bowl of rice and miso udon) - Curry Udon Set meal (comes with a bowl of beef curry udon, bowl of oyaku-don [egg and chicken rice bowl], and the same salads if i remember correctly) - Creamy Ikura Udon (my brother always orders their creamy udon) - Potato Cheese Mochi (we never leave the restaurant without eating this) - Tofu Salad (the salad dressing was very unique - tasted like tuna. oishi!)
I think that the set meal is too much for one person unless you're a very huge eater. I felt so full after my udon and potato salad, I had to stuff the rest of the food into my stomach. Luckily my brother was with us, so i threw half my tonkatsu to him. My mom gave him her oyaku-don as well. LOL.
The potato cheese mochi is a MUST-TRY! Super addictive. Semi-cripsy on the outside, soft in inside with melted cheese oozing out with every bite. ooh-la-la~ It's best to eat it hot though. So, eat it first before you start on your other dishes.
I love their curry as well and their udon is always bouncy - the way I like it. So far, I have not eaten anything that I'm not satisfied with.
Miss Loisaid: Oh if I had read your review earlier I'd have ordered the Potato Cheese Mochi last night! And the humongous size of that 'Regular' curry udon bowl is a little embarrassing for me. 29 Mar 2008 at 12:53 pm
kuhlairsaid: Order it the next time you go there! :D yea their bowls are really huge but it's okay because everybody is eating from the same bowls. haha 29 Mar 2008 at 1:59 pm

Overall I think this place is alright. I guess you need to know how to choose your dishes. Don't waste your money on luncheon meat, eggs or instant noodle dishes. I thought that the baked rice was pretty worth it. Delicious as well. The diced pork cubes went really well with the cheese.
Another item to rave about would be the Puo Luo Bao (Pineapple Buns). Served warm, the slice of butter melted to perfection. Absolutely delightful. However I find the thick french toast too oily...
Ordered dim sum as well - har gao and siew mai. Ingredients were pretty fresh. Prawns in the har gao was bouncy and crunchy.
I decided to try saybons due to the big hoo-ha about it in the papers.
My friend ordered the nutty nutella crepe, whereas I had the strawberry seduction crepe and a cup of brocolli & cheddar soup.
I have to say I love the soup; perfect for cold rainy days. *bliss* However, the crepes were a disappointment. My strawberry seduction had only 3 thin slices of strawberries and the crepe itself was a tad too oily for my liking. (from the picture, it looks like roti prata!)
I have yet to try their focaccia bread - bet it would taste really good with the soups.
I noticed they have added savory crepes to their menu recently. Hopefully it would be much better than the dessert ones.
Price wise, soup was totally worth it but no-no to the crepes.
I'm a big fan of crepes. Thus, I dragged my friend to try out this outlet with me. We ordered a dessert crepe and a savory crepe to share.
For the savory crepe, we ordered the ham and mushroom. I liked the peppery taste of the fillings. Loads of onions in it as well.
For the dessert crepe, we ordered the one with different berries (forgot the actual name). It was served with strawberry ice cream with whipped cream on top.
In my opinion, I think the savory crepes are more worth it (more filling as well).
But based on the price, I can't complain much in terms of taste and quality.
My family and I walked into this restaurant due to the huge life-sized poster of Moses Lim placed outside.
Three-quarters of the items in the menu had the Health Promotion Board's "Healthier Choice" stickers pasted next to them.
We got our food really quick and piping hot as well. Must tries would have to be the zha jiang mian and the green tea puffs (dessert). the menu stated red bean puffs but the waitress told us that they have ran out of red bean and asked if they could serve the green tea version of it. I agreed because I LOVE green tea. It was really light as they used egg whites for the puff pastry - good for cholesterol watchers like my dad.
The Xiao Long Baos were pretty good too but I still prefer Ding Tai Feng's.
Total bill was a little more than $100 for 4 people.

Went back to this restaurant again with my mom. Service was still the same. Food arrived promptly. The hot and sour noodles my mom had were made on the spot as we saw the chef rolling the dough and cutting it. You can really taste the freshness of the noodles (texture was very smooth and bouncy).
The shanghai pork rice that I had was simple, but very satisfying.
We ordered chive dumpling soup and steamed vegetable buns as well and surprisingly the bill only came up to S$27 only.
