Went to Astons Express at Bedok Central with friends for lunch two days ago, at first I thought it was a restaurant but to my surprise it was in a coffeeshop! I was wondering if it was another Botak Jones but oh well.

I ordered a Teriyaki Chicken($5.90) with fries and whipped potato as side dishes and 1 mushroom soup($2.50) with 2 pieces garlic bread. The Teriyaki chicken tastes quite good, it wasn't too hard or soft and it's easy to chew on, the sauce on it is perfect and I don't need any chili or tomato sauce for it. I'll give 4 out of 5 stars for this.

The fries was okay, it has those red chili spices on it similar to Botak Jones fries. This will be 3 out of 5 stars.

The whipped potato wasn't quite what I expected, tasted too plain and I prefer it to be much softer. This will be 2 out of 5 stars.

The mushroom soup was good, it wasn't too salty and they got the taste just right. 4 out of 5 stars for this.

The garlic bread on the other hand was cold so I had to dip into the soup to eat it. It don't taste as good if it was cold.
2 out of 5 stars for this.

Total amount spend? $8.40. It was overall a satisfied visit, I'll give this one a 3 star rating. I wish to try the breaded fish next time as my friend said it
    was good.

This afternoon meet up with 3 classmates from Temasek Poly to eat Student sushi belt/sashimi buffet at Nihon Mura at The Cathay, was told about this place is by the Suki Group(one that also brought in Suki Sushi, Yuki & Yaki and Sakura).

I will not include other sushi from the belt, will only talk about ones in the menu.

      Sashimi

      1. Salmon Sashimi(5 slices) x15 *plates(4 plates ammount in one plate)
The meat is quite thick and tender, ate about 3-4 plates.
      (4/5)

      2. Tai Sashimi(5 slices) x2 plates
Hmmm not as good as the salmon one, ate one or two pieces.
      (2.5/5)

      3. Nama Ebi Sashimi(5 slices) x1 plate
Sweet and juicy, good for those who like to eat their prawn raw.
      (4/5)

      Appetiezer

      4. Mini Sashimi Salad x1 plate
Could be better as I only saw a piece of prawns, sashimi, tako, clams inside, more cabbages then meat. :/
      (1.5/5)

      House Speciality

      5. Chawanmushi x4 cups
Well this is one is just nice for me, would prefer it to be more salty.
      (3/5)

      Age Mono

      6. Potato Koroke(2 pcs) x1 plate
Fried potato that could be better.
      (2.5/5)

      7. Tori Karaage(3 pcs) x1 plate
Ah I like this one, it was fried to my liking too. Taste great with mayo.
      (4.5/5)

      8. Fried Gyoza(3 pcs) x1 plate
Doesn't taste anything special in this, could be better too.
      (1.5/5)

      9. Tako Yaki(4 balls) x1 plate
Hmmm looks brownish but it's surprisingly good.
      (4/5)

      10. Squid Skewer Tempura(3 pcs) x1 plate
Tried it even tho I'm not a fan of squid, could be better as it tastes plain.
      (2/5)

      11. Ebi Fried(3 pcs) x2 plate
This fried prawn is quite hard when you first chew it(thinking it was soft), was wondering if there was squid in it. The whole thing is fried that you can eat the tail part too!
      (4/5)

      Kushi Yakimono

      12. Shisamo(4 pcs) x3 plate
Ah this fish again, tried it on 3 places of this fish. Quite satisfied with they way they grilled it. Could give us some lemon/lime for it.
      (3.5/5)

      13. Iwatako Mentai(2 sticks) x1 plate
Another fried squid, but this one is fried in a way that you wouldn't feel too chewy and yet tender. This could make me a sotong fan anytime. :D
      (4/5)

      14. Teriyaki Chicken(2-3 pcs) x1 plate
Hmm this is good, juicy tender and bbq style chicken. Perfect score.
      (5/5)

      15. Shitake(2 and 1/2 in a stick) x1 plate
Oh why did I order this? Isn't up to my standard and could have add more flavouring.
      (1/5)

      16. Enoki Bacon(3 in a stick) x1 plate
This are good too, it gives a very chewy yet not stick to your teeth kind of feeling.
      (4.5/5)

Total about 33 plates(not include sushi from the belt), 4 cups, 5 cups of soft drinks(Coke, Ice Lemon Tea), 4 cups of watermelon juices. I guess around 10-15 plates of sushi from the belt.

Service is as expected as they need time to prepare alot of food for customers as many came for the buffet lunch/teabreak. My friend waited for the 4 plates of Salmon Sashimi for an hour, while for mine came fairly quick.

Total we paid about $70.15(includes 10% service charge and 7% GST), each person is about $17.53. I'll give 3.5 out of 5 stars for it. Student meal banzai! XD

Crepe House @ Bugis Junction B1   Vanilla Icecream with Chocolate Sauce and Banana
Just passed by this stall when I was heading down for MRT at Bugis Junction, the fake crepes display outside looks quite tasty so I decided to buy one to try it out.

In the end I choose Vanilla Ice-cream with Chocolate Sauce and Banana topping. The crepe looks like those you see in Japanese Anime except the topping is inside of the crepe. My banana is below the ice-cream scope as the picture shown. Cost $5.50 which I think could be lower since it's just one scoop of ice-cream!

Ok the taste on the crepe outside is like popiah, which I called this Ice-cream Popiah! Vanilla Ice-cream with chocolate sauce was not bad and the banana itself is fresh. But better eat it fast because the popiah outside will become soggy if you leave it with the ice-cream for too long.

This crepe is not bad for a light meal or as a snack, go give it a try! :D

Curry Rice Deluxe   Curry Rice Deluxe
Went over to MEIDI-YA at liang court basement for dinner and as I walk around the food area I decided to try Romantic Kobe's Curry Rice. Service was well okay since the staff did notice me but seems abit busy with another customer so I walk over to see the menu at the counter then they realize I need to order something. lol

I ordered Deluxe Curry Rice, which cost me around $13.30, and I don't have to wait long for the food which is good as I was hungry and they even asked if I need a drink which I decline. I'm a poor student so this meal could mean I can't eat supper later. The Deluxe Curry Rice meal contains 2 Tonkatsu(Fried Pork Cutlets), 1 Croquette(Fried potato with vegetables) and 1 Ebi Furai(Fried Prawn) and Curry sauce for you to pour over the rice.

The Curry isn't spicy at all, the Tonkatsu seems fairly done tho still acceptable, Croquette are nice and mushy, Ebi Furai well I can say it passed my standard. I give this meal a 4/5 stars, since it is filling for the hungry me. XD

             Unagi Don   Shishamo
Well this review came abit late but I know it's better than never review about it.

Ok I'll start with the Unagi Don which I ate, cost me around $18(w/o gst service charge) each. It was better than I thought, quite plain at first look. You can taste the freshness of the Unagi as it was really good and it comes with Miso soup, which taste ok as it wasn't that salty.

I was hoping for Unagi don with the egg and leek which happens to be not available.

Then here comes the Shishamo, which one of my buddies ordered that cost like $2 per piece($6 total). Well I tried one of them and i can eat it whole. It wasn't bad but I feel it lack something, maybe due to the lemon I guess.

Well I can say the service is quite good and the place has that Japan feel. I could only say that you better be prepared to spend around $30 due to the 7% GST and 10% Service charge.
