The teppanyaki and steampot itself was good, not fantastic but good, the variety of food wasn't a lot, maybe because it was weekday lunch, we went on a promo that every 2 person get 2 cups of free ICE CREAM GOO.

FYI: Yuki Yaki is also famous for its Ice-cream teppanyaki. YES YOU FRY THE DAMN ICE CREAM GOO.

Sounding so gooooooooooooood, my friends and I went there after deciding to skip class.

We couldn't finish the food and it says no food wastage, so we dumped everything like fried rice and took on games to stuff food into the loser.

After that comes the climax. Ice-cream frying.

Excitedly we discussed about what flavours we want so that we won't have a repeat.

    We had:

    1) Green Tea:
Looks like pea vomit, smells like green tea with toooooooooooo much milk. (YUCKS)

    2) Durian:
Looks like mango/orange cream, smells like durian from the garbage 10days ago.

    3) Chocolate
Looks like chocolate, taste like cheap china chocolate, but actually the best flavour of all.

    4) Orange Sherbet
Looks like Orange juice, smells like orange juice your mum left you 3 days ago.

    5) Strawberry
Looks like Pink goo, smells like sneeze from a bad breath uncle, taste like that too. Had a hard time gettin rid of that taste in the mouth.

    6) Grape
Looks purple, smells like grape soda, taste like grape soda, bundung style in a bad way :(

7 & 8) After the terrorising taste test, we GAVE UP. and took only 2 more chocolates.

AND IN THE END, we got those free flow drinks like coke, apple soda, orange juice and put it on the cold plate, TASTED SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ICE CREAM GOO MIX.

Yea so do that next time, forgo the mixes.

Fun only in the frying which sticks in really easily, we cleaned by secretly turning the heat back on to melt ice, pour water in and drained it out thru the catch at the side...so it wasn't so bad.

Brain Freeze. For the fun: AVERAGE 3 STARS.

Don't know why I forgot to review this.

Yes it's much more spacious, not as smelly, there is bar with cheap booze, classic rock music, waiting time not so bad, service still as good, loads of sauce and condiments...

Food slightly declined, toilet stinks (not their fault), argh....guilty of craving sometimes.

I was a fan of Annalakshmi since 2 years back when it was operating in Excelsior Hotel.

Because of their unique concept, (BELIEVE IT!) you really can pay what you want to pay them, more like a donation.

Money goes to some cultural center in India and etc.....

You must be thinking that they must be a shobby restaurant with rotting tables and stained tablecloth and serves food in only banana leaves.

      WRONG.

Service better than many A-List restaurants, as clean as your own home, cosy like your mom's place (used to be big with many artefacts but cost reductions...) soft ethnic Indian music, quite a decent variety of choices, RESTAURANT STANDARD CUISINE.

**NOTE**: I USED THE WORD CUISINE.

I brought my boyfriend there to PROVE that we don't need to slurge to get good food in a restaurant as a bet, he thought the place would be dirty, to his amazement, the place...not so fantastic that you can call it a date, but it's one of those days when you care tight on cash but still spoiled to want good filling food, GO TO ANNALAKSHMI.

Not trying to be a cheapo here, once it just saved my bloody life. No bloody money but still spoiled. My 2 friends and I only paid $15 for the food. Well it's all vegetarian so, it's not that bad, well that's I could afford.

A few things u need to tahan when you are there:

      1) REMEMBER TO CALL TO RESERVE.
      - and remember to call back to make changes or the aunty will be damn fierce.

      2) I recommend you go during Mon-Thurs after 6.30pm for dinner ala carte cos more selection and you order what you want, not take from buffet spread which is on weekends that people take and make the spread look REALLY GROSS (plus little selection).

      3) Seldom the cutlery is slightly dirty so be nice and tell them about it cos this place, you don't pay GST you got almost no right to KB.

      4) Don't waste food.

      5) Upon payment at the entrance, tahan then same old aunty who takes reservations, tahan her scrutiny at your stinge, it seems it's never enough whenever whoever pays. Bravely say how much u are paying for how many people, and TAHAN when she slams the receipt at you.

The only bad thing abt this place, GET THROUGH THE RESERVATIONS, ENTERING, PAYING, and everything else will be heavenly.

      Highly recommended:

      1) Annalakshmi Special (Drink)
Yoghurt like drink that is VERY THICK, orange and honey like, need to mix alot of water for me.

      2) Annalakshmi Special (Fried Rice)
Very nice fried rice with bits of spices and those colourful bits you get in those fruit wedding cakes you get when you go for chinese weddings.

      3) Gobi Manchurian
Cabbage Fritters that taste like SWEET and Sour Pork chinese kind. (WARNING: Sometimes they serve it soggy, u cant complain.)

That's all, u got to try to believe it :)

      4 and a half STARS.

        YAY ate thai express today.
I have cravings for thai express sometimes.

I tried Thai Green Curry at Sticky Rice at AMK hub one day and tried it just now at Thai express. Sad to say but it's better at AMK hub.

But it's still relatively good, but the chicken meat was so dry it tasted like the chicken was thirsty when it got slaughtered.

But the others still taste as good, one of the better Thai Express branches so far.. :)

service was kinda good too although they ask stupid questions sometimes...but it was out of courtesy so it's ok :)

          UPDATES:
I take back my word Sakae improved. Sounds like Hougang branch surpassed this town branch.

          OLD REVIEW:

Argh used to be there since it opened...
Used to be so bloody awesome it used to be a treat for my family...
However it changed concept and less pricey, and also lowered their standards.

I missed their this set which has a big ass basket that has almost everything that you crave for in a jap restaurant, however they cancelled that...and I just have to make do for their ichiban bento, which is the next thing i go for.

I won't say it's bad, it's just slightly better than Sakae, well I mean surprisingly Sakae got slightly better recently. Waraku still continues to plunge...at least Ichiban is maintaining.

But generally fresh, their wasabi is still nice. They used to serve wasabi that has like lil bits of spices in it...but now, still alright, just hate the bad ones. It either makes or break your jap meal.

          so 3 stars for now.
