ALL my friends keep saying that this Nasi Lemak is THE BEST in Singapore.
I'll say that's crap.
I mean there are so many better tasting ones out there, especially that on in Sims Place Hawker Center wrapped in Banana Leaves.
OK if there is anything unique and special about it, it will be their deep-fried Ikan Bilis. It's sweet and crispy, not too oily and goes well with their average Nasi.
AND it is neither economical.
I do not understand why, on a weekday afternoon, you get something as ridiculous as a queue that reaches the road on the other side of the coffee shop. (refer to my attached pictures.)
The only few mega book stores that you can sit there all day reading-without-buying and still not kena chased out by shop.
I had to find books on Rock, Metal, Death, Black Magic, Satanism, Lucifer, whatnots, and this place has it all. Fictional, or resources style.
There's even seats for you to sit around and be frozen to death (no thanks to their freezing air-con).
I actually find their staff a little snobbish, not helpful, and their favourite reply to you when you ask for their assistants are "There only, you look for it again lor."
I think that should be their company culture.
Stationery is of course more pricey than Popular bookstores, but they carry more variety and designs, especially from Japan.
PuNiaoPuNiaosaid: must understand, page one under-staff leh... air con wise control by vivo one, boh pian... just carry more tissu lor... 06 Mar 2008 at 11:53 pm
Pharquesaid: I understand that you are kind...but this is simply not an excuse for bad service. and if aircon controlled by vivo, why are other stores' aircons just nice??? 10 Mar 2008 at 5:06 pm
PuNiaoPuNiaosaid: I have absolutely no idea. Try going to Pacific Coffee or Starbucks before 10am and you'll realise there's no aircon... until 10am 21 Jun 2008 at 12:17 am

OF COURSE everything is pricey compared to your NTUC and Cold Storage. BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS FRESHER THERE, and there are wide selection of Organic crap there.
Not to forget their FRESHER-THAN-SAKAE-SUSHI sushi and sashimi.
I'd rather spend it on that counter than Sakae.
This place satisfies my cravings for cheap but fresh Salmon raw, and it is reasonably priced in this case.
Especially for late night movies, I will usually smuggle it into the cinema...and binge all those salmon I bought. BEST FEELING EVER.
eemlsaid: This place has a good variety of organic food. However, it's was to pricey for me. I would rather go to giant to shop for groceries 22 Sep 2008 at 10:08 am

Good lord, How can an old looking/smelling/really-old-in-reality be in the heart of Singapore?!! But, it still boasts the biggest screen in Singapore.
I bloody can't stand the smell, seats are a little too uncomfy for tall people, you can't lift the arm rests, when I wear shorts I keep thinking that bugs or bacteria will harm my privates...

BUT WHO CARES.
I GET OCCASIONAL CRAVINGS and I'D LOVE TO THANK IKEA for opening at TAMPINES so it is more within my reach.
I will NEVER get sick of its Swedish Meatballs and that ligonberry (did I spell it right?) jam thing...damn.
Though their Salmon's never fresh till my expectation, the buttery-lemony sauce masks everything so cunningly I 'HATE' IKEA.
I'm abit perverted and I actually love over-boiled broccoli. I won't like it if it is not soft like IKEA's haha.
AND, it is not too expensive, and it helps when food in GIANT (Tampines) SUCK BIG TIME.
NEVER, NEVER EAT AT GIANT.
