I'm a regular there and i don't go chalet anymore cos of this.
Slightly more expensive than a regular NTUC chalet, 10x more serene than a regular NTUC chalet, near town, near newton food center, and many other pubs along Balmoral. Clean Swimming pool and rooms that are larger than a regular twin room chalet.
They count per head...so you can say it's for one person, and sneak your other 5-9 friends in one by one. As long as you don't make too much noise, they wont barge in. I mean, they WONT barge in anyway lol.
Just that you can't bbq here ;)
It's nice for young people for a weekend getaway from their house with their lovers and not to forget the place is clean with a bath tub.
But remember to book in advance or you will have trouble getting a slot!
Nemesissaid: wah!! Didn't know there was such a hotel lying in themidst of the city. Really looks good for my next outing.Thks for the tip! 27 Sep 2007 at 3:24 pm

What I like about it: Chic cushioned seats, Sexy black chandeliers, fuming wasabi chips and the vodka extra extra lime for me :) Not forgetting the cheeky waiters and friendly bartenders, and a supervisor on platform boots. Small Plasma TVs broadcasts Fashion TV which is entertaining to me because the fashion sometimes get ridiculous and functions as an art piece instead.
Cat walk music and dim lights...a place to relax after your woes, and see some celebrities and well garbed dolls.
What I don't like about it: Unisex toilet with a frosted glass door. Not my kinda thing :) unless I have perfect Barbie figure.
My VERDICT: If you hit MOS so often, why not hop in Fbar for a different pace? Where the crowd is more sophisticated and more likely to be free of teeny boppers?
Dimly lit by oil lamps in disguise of church bulk candles, road lamps and the moonlight, Jazz music, chill ambience.
Food is not too expensive, though the place looks expensive. No smoking area, nice chatting and chillout places, cocktails there are alotsa varieties, even the juice are pretty looking.
When I think of Timbre, I smell their Thin-crust Pizza. Leave your Pizza Hut Thin Crust Pizzas behind, go to timbre! I usually order their Mushroom Thin Crust. It's portabello mushrooms and lots of cheese that doesn't get you sick of but craving for more.
Tuborg's a really bad beer, don't bother to get the bucket.
Sometimes Timbre gets over crowded and that's not very cool.
The weather may be hot but when you get into timbre, surprisingly it is not as hot outside. Pray it doesn't rain, there are parts with no shelter.
Second floor of Wala will need you to be extremely legal to get pass the 'bouncer'. I always get Vodka Extra Lime there, some fries.
Gotta looooove Shirlyn Tan and The Unexpected...the occasionally singing-while-drumming Brandon Khoo. I guess their music draws the crowds. I am only there when they are there.
On bad point is that the upper floors always gets over crowded and there weren't enough seats. They may wanna consider to get a bigger space ;)
Other than that, the atmosphere is rather cool, and best of all, the TOILET is clean heh.
UPDATE: Went for another time... This time I had more bucks and ordered more...wings and fries, many baileys with milk, and this something new I tried called Appletiser and Grapetiser. It looks like white wine and red wine respectively...
The waiter there so so funny because Shirlyn thought I was drunk and the waiter told her I was drunk on the non-alcoholic Appletiser.
After when I left, the cheeky bartender treated me to another Tuborg...(though I hate Tuborg...)
