this must be the best Japanese food I've had in Singapore so far.

a realllyyy small restaurant tucked away up on the 5th floor of bustling far east plaza, Wasabi Tei has no fancy decor (what decor?) to speak of, and is in fact so unimpressive on the exterior i bet you could have walked past its doors multiple doors without quite knowing it's an awesome Japanese eatery within.

with only 16 seats packed in the tiny shop front, i had to wait for almost 40min before i even stepped foot into the eatery. once inside, prepare to order EVERYTHING that you feel like eating AT ONE GO, because they do not allow a second order so as to ensure a faster turnover.

The chef took his time to prepare the food, but it was definitely well worth the wait. The salmon sashimi was thick, fatty and fresh! Yummss! Blissful... The chawanmushi which was generously filled with mushrooms and prawns was surprisingly good too. All our dishes were well prepared and delicious, so it was certainly a highly satisfying meal at a reasonable $15 per person after we split the bill.

Beware though, of the temperament of the chef himself. His wife is slightly milder, but don't expect smiles and a warm attitude when you dine here. It's best to ask friends who've been here before to bring you, so you can be spared the lecture for not knowing the "unspoken rules". Otherwise, it's an excellent place for yummy Jap food and I will definitely be back again!

value for money! i give this aston's outlet two thumbs up!

with their chicken dishes going at $6.50-$9 range, and steak at $12.90-$18.90, it's really worth the bucks! what's more there is no 10% service charge, so you need only to pay the GST.

downside is, the queue gets rather long during dinner hours, especially during weekends. it's a small outlet so seats are quite limited. go there early on weekdays if you wish to be spared the wait!

inside seating ard 50pax - outside seating ard 40 pax. I usually head there after my 7 show just in time for the last order! And the best part is I do not have to Q.

tried the ayam penyet here a few days back, and i wasnt wowed by it. the crispy bits are indeed tasty, but at $6.50 for a plate of chicken rice, i find it too pricey and certainly not worth the money. at least the chicken they gave isnt too small a piece. the chilli is REALLY spicy too, so those who can't take spicy food pls steer clear of it!

excellent place to chill with friends and chat over a cuppa and a sinful piece of chocolate cake. tucked away in the exclusive dempsey hill, PS cafe provides a great hangout away from the hustle and bustle of the typical shopping malls. i simply love the ambience especially after dusk, when the soft warm lights make the place even more cosy than it already is.

i would recommend their desserts more than their main courses, as i find the former more special in terms of taste and definitely more worth the price. just look at the selection of tall chocolatey cakes and im tempted to order all of them! beware tho, cos the ultimate fudgy brownie i tried was soooo sweet, u better not had anything else chocolatey on the table that night. go for a mix of chocolate and cheesecake/fruit flavoured variety and im sure ur palettes would appreciate it much more.

Go for their set menu, it's more worth it! you get to try both the soup and sandwich, at arnd 10 odd dollars, much cheaper than if you were to order them separately.

been to this raffles city outlet lately, and i was surprised to find many of the sandwich flavours sold out on a weekday night. plus, my friends n i really werent all that late to reach, maybe around 8pm? so the variety we had was limited. do visit early if u want to have more choices, all the better if you visit during the off peak afternoon hours. easier to get seats, you can eat leisurely, plus the service wld usually be better then.
