It wasn’t an easily accessible location for us, but we still decide to go, for we heard about their unlimited lunch BBQ at $29 inclusive of a main dish. I was quite suspicious initially. But when we had the bill, the only extra was the $1 for tea&towel. And of course, the to go with all these prices.

The $29 includes only 3 types of pork (marinade pork, pork collar, pork belly) and 1 type of chicken (marinade chicken). The beef had to be ordered separately, if you still want it after looking at the price. Most of the serving staff are Chinese-nationals and we thought one of the lady who served us could be a Korean management staff / boss (as another staff rushed over to take over her work soon after she started flipping our meat). There was no force-selling of the other meat items on the menu and there was no black-face on our second & third request of meat and side dishes (except just a gentle warning that unfinished meat will be charged). On sight of us trying to flip and cut the meat ourselves, the staff would also volunteer immediately to serve us. Overall, the dinning experience was good.

The unlimited BBQ comes with a main dish which could served as a normal lunch by itself and was priced at $9.90 for lunch (maybe that’s why they could price the unlimited BBQ at only $29, since you wouldn’t normally eat too much of the BBQ after eating the main course). I liked the clear beef rib soup.

The unlimited BBQ also come with unlimited Korean side dishes. The kimchi was seasoned sufficiently and the cold tofu was nice. However, the mashed potato was a bit too sweet to me and they didn’t served my favourite spicy big-headed beansprouts (guess it was from soy bean rather than green bean which we usually get in Spore). We thought it was not available, since the menu doesn’t list what side dish are available. BUT later we heard another table asking for the big-headed beansprouts and it WAS served to them. Too bad I am already full to take another side dish.

With nearby banks and all the expats around, there are a lot of patrons during lunch despite the price and that it is Italian (not a normal foodcourt cuisine).

For lunch and dinner, they have a large variety of pasta (ranging from $5.90 to $8.90), pizza, mains like fish & chips and roast chicken and meatballs, and sides and dessert.

For lunch, they have “Antipasti” where you pick 3 types ($5.50) or 5 types ($7.50) of items at the counter (like the chinese “cai fan”). They have smoked salmon, pasta salad, meat items to name a few. It’s pretty worth for the price. I like the fact that you can mixed whatever you want, better than just having a simple salmon pasta off the menu.

On Christmas Day, I went for the 7pm show and it's pretty crowded to get to the cinema from the train station, but my feel is that it's still better than the Tampines GV and Plaza Sing GV, since those are located on the top floors and you either super-slowly go up a few levels of escalator, or you have to wait for the very-crowded lifts. Here, it is just located on Level 2, and you could still shop/window-shop as you walk towards the cinema.

There was a very long queue at the ticketing counter, but they had many counters (think was 3.5 counters for normal ticketing) (compared to so few at Tampines GV), so I guess it would still be a reasonable waiting time (I went for the Platinium queue which was pretty fast as they have 1.5 counters for it).

Their ticket-checking was on the 3rd floor, where there was another drinks counter there which seems pretty quiet compared to the one on the 2nd floor which had queues.

Initially I thought the seats was nice, as the hand-rest can be lifted (guess the couples would love it) and there was ample leg space and I could even put the popcorn by the side of my legs (wide seats!). But the head-rest was simply annoying. My firend was saying she need to bring the U-shape pillow next time, since the seats were like plane seats....

This chain seems to pop up only after the donut-craze has calmed down. But they seems to be pretty well in the race with coffee also on their menu. I saw their Bugis Junction branch on a Sat afternoon and it was full, with customers from youngsters to family with little kids, probably because they know where to choose the location for their branches.

I went to the one in Raffles City basement and we had a nice coffee donut for an after-dinner chit-chat. They place was decent, but I thought the seats were rather uncomfortable. They have the chairs type and the sofa type, with the chairs type placed rather in the way and the sofa type rather low.

I had the blended toffee and I thought the blending was not bad, at least there’s icy feel and yet not underblended. Cost me $5.80, pretty ok.

I didn’t try the donuts, but I thought just the colours looked great to brighten up my day. Just that that day do not feel like having donut with so much chocolate after a full dinner (normally would be my top choice). At least I don’t remember seeing one of those strange fillings (“wasabi” yet no wasabi spiciness?).

I was searching for a 8GB (or 2 x 4GB) memory card for my PSP camera and I couldn’t get it from the other Challenger branches near my house, so we call and found that the one at IMM still has stock. So we went and found this shop instead.

An 8GB Duo Pro from Challenger cost around $100 for a Scandisk brand (made in japan). But here is less than $100. And they actually have 8GB Duo Pro by Lexar brand (made in Korea) which is only $63 or $37 for 4GB. We found them to be soooo cheap!!

We didn’t quite check out the other items in the shop, but it look just like one of those small stores in Funan, selling IT goods. So, no harm checking out this shop if you live nearby. Plus, you have Best Denki and Challenger just besides it to compare prices (maybe that’s why they need to sell it at such low prices).

On the service, no black face but no super smiling face as well. But the storekeepers / storeowners gave me a strange feeling that they were still trying to priced the item. When I ask them for the price of the no-price-tagged memory card. They checked the system but seems to need to ask each other before confirming to me that the price is correct.
