Not sure what to eat when you step into this stall? It's alright, just pick up their menu and they listed the nutritional facts of selected desserts, sure there will be something you need.
But if you just thought of picking something to satisfy your sweet tooth, don't just pick blindly based on the names (a lot of them contain colours or flowers). "Bugs Bunny" (Carrot Juice Jelly with Raisins) sounds nice, but when it came, we were quite disappointed. It look just like the agar agar selling at the fruits store.
But I do like the "Red Scarlet" (Yam, Red Bean & Sago with Milk) where the sweetness is just nice. The "Oriental Beauty" (Traditional Almond Cream) is also pretty smooth.
For the pricing, initially I thought it was still reasonable, given that the store offers air-con seating (they rent the outlet next door as well) and the portion was quite big, for my Oriental Beauty. But when I bought the Red Scarlet as take-away, the container looks smaller than a dine-in portion. Guess the nice thick-plastic bag adds to the cost.
Oh yes, they do have the "stamps" system, where you can get a free bowl with x number of bowls.
Club Street, I wonder how many people in CBD knows about it. It looks deserted. But for such a location, the restaurant had quite a number of patrons for lunch.
Spizza’s mainly has pizza (the names of each starts from A to Z) and some pasta and some dessert. Their pizzas are thin-crust …. perfect.
We had “Ursula” which has smoked salmon and spinach. Not salty (one of us was complaining about a salty dinner – smoked salmon sandwich) and the spinach does not have funny taste (although it looks raw). The thin crust with the thin slice of salmon (but take away the spinach), is so good. Others on the table had "Helena", "Donna", "Sofia".
Their dessert also taste nice, although we were wondering why my “Aida” with a description containing “cheesecake” turn out to have ice-cream beneath some cake and does not have taste of cheese.
The price seems to be a bit on the high side. An 8 inch is $16 and a 12 inch is $21. But the best thing is, you could request to add an egg on the pizza (those sunny-side-up type) for an extra $1. Wonder if that is a typical Italian style, or just something the chef thought of.
If you have HSBC, you 10% discount or better with a HSBC platinum (15% discount). Although that is just enough to cover the service charge and GST. Oh, but you will get a stamp for each pizza ordered and 10 stamps get you the 11th pizza free.

3 years ago, I was at the Natas Fair trying to get a tour package to Taiwan. My friends compared prices and find Hong Thai to offer the best, in terms of prices and itinery.
We decided on the round-taiwan trip with at least 5 out of 7 nights bringing us to the night markets (recently I saw that this itinery is still available). This was like a perfect of Taiwan, although the sightseeing does not include Ali Shan and Xiao Ren Guo (which I went on my own just last year).
The price was within our budget so we didn't have much constraints on which airline to take, when asked to choose between Cathay and SQ. But our eventual decision led me to give them a big reduction on their points for service. When I asked whether Cathay (cheaper by $100) flies to Taiwan directly, the staff actually tell me Yes. How can an agency staff gave me such wrong information?!? Only when they issue the tickets, then we realise that it transits in HK (Cathay totally does not fly to Taiwan directly!!). But all was too late as the tickets are already issued and the SQ tour is already full.
This aside, the spore team leader was very nice, although she keep eating at the night markets, and the local tour guide was said to be seconded from the tourism office and gave us a lot of good guides and support.
I was told by the local tour guide that the boss of Hong Thai had very good relationship in Taiwan, thus able to get the best hotels at the best rates for tour groups. A definite plus point if I decide to go Taiwan again, purely for food across the island's night markets.
I went for CTC Jiangnan packaged tours and find it good and cheap. Although the low price was partly because of the airline (one of the China airline) choosen. But the hotel standard was generally good, not just any cheapo 3 star hotel.
(But must mention that if you try for a F&E airline hotel package from them for Shanghai, it is better off going for the Jiangnan packaged tour.)
I went to their mosque street branch before and I could hear a lot of their staff was China national. Probably the agency had good connections with the China agencies and thus could give us a good yet cheap package for China.
Their service wasn't too much of excellent as we are supposed to go down for a briefing from the tour leader, who ended up just calling us over the phone, still considered good service.
I still remember when I took Thai Airways to Bangkok 4 years ago on economy class, the flight attendant actually carry a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine, asking if anyone wants. Not those push cart, but actually going around with the bottles in the hand. I thought that was nice as it gives me a more personal feeling that they are not just serving drinks on a routine before-meal-and-after-meal rounds.
