Yes their black forest cake and chocolate tart are heavenly. Tried both at both outlets before. you won't get the heavy aftertaste after one slice of the cake. cream is just nice.
One could also make a phone reservation of the cake at least one day in advance, and collect it the next day at the outlet. Otherwise, can also request for delivery of the cake, at an extra cost of $20.
The staff there was quite blur, and not that helpful. Did not even highlight there was a 10% discount for HSBC cardmembers during payment.
Otherwise, this is a nice place for gathering after dinner.

Qian Hu claims in an article before that it has a total of 3000 doctor fishes in those ponds. It is little compared to Kenko's 4500 fishes in each of the 3 ponds there.
The big fishes they have at Qian Hu are bigger than Kenko's, but they don't nibble too long at your feet. The sensation is not as relaxing as that at kenko.
I prefer the previous Top of the M for romantic dining. So sad that they were now replaced by Chatterbox.
Meanwhile, I don't see any high level of service being rendered by Hai Tien Lo staff. My father was celebrating his birthday there, but we don't get special items, unlike in Wan Hao/Top of the M/whatever else restaurants.

The main outlet at Sembawang has been around for years since 1960s. Alot of residents around that area frequent Gin Thye Cake Maker since young. They cater for wedding/birthday/baby full month celebration cakes/pastries. Owner is a very helpful man. He will answer your queries without fail.
For ordering of wedding cakes/pastries, owner actually let you use their wedding baskets available in the shop for free. They also sell other wedding items (like tea set) in the shop.
Meanwhile, they do sell the traditional pastries like Wife/Husband/Sun/Moon Biscuits, Tau Sar Piah (there is vegetarian version too), etc too. They also sell longetivity buns and those pastries made of peanut/malt sugar. Besides those mentioned, there are also butter cakes and muffins, all freshly prepared in the pastry shop.
Gin Thye Cake Maker also customise special cakes/pastries on request. In fact, it was featured on Channel 8 before, and there was this giant longetivity bun that they prepared, in which contains numerous mini longetivity buns. But of course, be prepared to pay for such special request. It won't be very cheap.
The fish therapy session there is more high class than Qian Hu, with lockers given to place your belongings. Water in the 'pond' is clearer too (so clear until you can see the fish wastes swaying behind the fish as it swims).

It was until I overheard an old lady customer promoting the fish therapy service there, then I realised that there is a package available for signing up.
The old lady customer whom I mentioned about, praises Kenko's fish spa for letting her overcome her pain in feet. She claimed to have serious blisters in feet that causes severe pain, but the pain subsided when she started to frequent Kenko. She also compared Kenko to Qian Hu, saying that Qian Hu though cheap, does not produce that effective results as Kenko.
Meanwhile, I find the results not that effective. I go there mainly for the purpose of leisure and relaxation, not for therapeutical purpose.
I would say the staff there requires more Public Relations skills in order for the trip to be worthy of 30 bucks.
The ticketing counter is abit blended into the background at level 4. Meanwhile the entrance is abit far from the main passage way in the whole level. It is situated next to the restrooms, makes it stink in a way.
The ticketing counter could have been better, perhaps with a separate counter for patrons who just wish to purchase pop corn or drinks only. I would recommend some counters at the ground level of Downtown East E!Hub for selling of tickets only, just like those in The Cathay and Cathay Cineleisure.
One thing to note, the staff was abit slow in serving the queue too, causing long queues in front of the counters half an hour before all the movies start. They do provide those special service whereby patrons place order for food or drinks first at the counter and receive them later in the cinema. However, with such long queues around, how to even place an order at the counter?
I had my show at Hall 4. Very comfortable seats. I always find seats at Cathay Cineplexes more spacious and comfortable at those at Golden Village. I had neckaches when I watched movies at GV Vivocity, but never encounter such thing at Cathay, including Cathay Downtown East.

They are slightly different from normal salons as their facials don't employ the 'traditional' steam cleanse squeeze method for extraction of pimples and blackheads. Your face won't look red after the facial. Price to pay -- $250 (normal facials at other places can be like just $100 bucks). Of course, if you buy the facials in packages, the cost would be cheaper.
They sell a box of 10 natural plant ampoules at about $450. So expensive. And they adopt those hard-selling tactics. Everytime after facial will bring you to a room to have tea. First, they would start with small talk, comment on how good your looks are. Then, slowly they start to sell off new products etc to you. Holding your time no matter how you tell them that you don't need those products.
They used to be located at The Shaw. Level of service drops when they relocated to The Cathay. Promoting their products while you are having facial. You don't get to relax during the facial session at all.
They do provide massage services too. Scrub and steambath inclusive.

Jetstar actually do not compensate passengers for luggage damages. Personally, I find seats in Jetstar planes to be of poorer quailty.
