I will go Chatuchak Weekend Market every time i visit Bangkok. Weather is super duper hot and scorching over there. So always prepare yourself with plenty of plain water (or just buy from the stalls there). Can get sick easily in that kind of weather. There are really plenty of items availablf at Chatuchak. They even have an online website to promote wholesale. Understand that the landlord is intending to pull off that place. Been trying to get people to pull down the place by force, but to no avail.
I went to Dream World too just recently. Abit run-down. Imagine a theme park that has been in existence since 10 odd years ago, it can't be as advanced in terms of rides as those theme parks built recently.
I also went to Pratunam area. The stalls operate both day and night. Do visit the Platinium Mall for clothes at wholesale prices.
Patpong is a interesting place to visit if you are one who is into pubs and clubs. They have gay pubs there as well. So do look at where you enter.
I visit Carrefour more for the special deals they have at the end of the day, before closing shop. Always like their picnic ham, as it is quite cheap at 60 odd cents. But no longer patron them for that, as it is not healthy in the first place.
I like their Sushi corner, for the cooked eels they sell. Also love it during after 9pm when they start to slash the prices for the sushi.
Their Honey chickens are nice. There was once I went there at the last hour, and the staff gave another chicken FOC.
I like the luggage section. Wide variety of choices.
Also like the staff at the electrical appliances section. Quite friendly and helpful.
As compared to Giant, Carrefour is a better place to visit.
The hill is part of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. I go there to climb the hill and view the vast species available. It is a very relaxing experience, breathing in fresh air and looking at the various different species. However, beware of the monkeys there. They can get agressive when they see you holding food in front of them.
There is a firing range nearby. Thus every now and then you would hear the sounds produced by the riffle shoots.
It is nice visiting the place when you have the time. It is a different feeling looking down from the top of the hill!
Current price for the buffet is $38 , with one dines free for every five paying adults on fridays/saturdays/sundays and one dines free for every four paying adults on mondays-thursdays under Citibank promo. If dining on monday-thurdays, UOB promo is more attractive as it offers one dines free with every 2 paying adult.
Meanwhile, I like the sea cucumber served there. It is well-prepared, tasted heavenly. Roasted Meat was abit dry and oily. Soft-shelled crab was very oily too, can't taste anything except flour.
My friend who was there commented that Salmon Sashimi was oily. Meanwhile I think the Tuna Sashimi taste just right. Quite fresh Sashimi though. I tried abit of the Fried Oyster Omelette, but don't seem to find the oyster. The Durian Roti Prata was nice. You can smell it from far.
The bigger prawns were not sweet at all. Totally tasteless. The normal-sized prawns tasted better, sweeter.
Tried the cupaccino there too. Normal.
Enjoyed playing at the the ice-cream DIY counter. Yes the cakes were nothing to mention about. Cheesecake wasn't nice at all. In fact, the raspberry on it was too sour.
I actually bought a 1.5kg Valhorna chocolate cake from there. Need 3 days advance order through the phone. Cost like $75 . Thought that it should taste nice, but turned out not as what we expected. The cake tasted dry, and you wouldn't want another bite after one slice. Laurent's chocolate tart/black forest cake are better than this. Seriously wouldn't recommend this to anybody. Not worthy of the price.
