Situated about 5 mins short walk from the aljunied mrt station helmed by a good covered walkway, the sims vista market is a regular haunt for the residents around Sims Avenue.

I was surprised with the variety of cooked food and of course the super affordable pricing. Matter of fact, you can still find $1.50 mixed veg rice (Plate of rice with choice of 2 veg) at a very good portion, $2.50 Wanton Noodles (Noodles with dumpling) that tasted old skool and yummy as well as $0.35 a piece Yong Tau Foo that comes up to less then $3 for a bowl of 6 pieces with rice or noodles.

The variety of food offered is also quite a delight. You have all a good choice of famous fish soup which is super yummy, braised duck porridge, rice and kway chup, Putien fried longevity noodles, double boiled wrapped chicken, etc etc etc... Theres too many to choose from all most stalls are pretty yummy. There is also malay stalls that provides one of the most yummy nasi kandars, smashed chicken (ayam panyat) and other yummy malay cuisines.

    Interesting finds at this hawker:
    1) Bakeries - There are a few bakeries, one just for bread and other 2 provides items such as mooncakes, traditional chinese pastries, yummy egg tarts and other high tea must haves.

    2) Do you know that the cheapest old school cobbler is here at one of the market stalls selling everything else. Will post a review soon. He charges $4 to change the heel pads of my pumps which wears out too often and does a rather quick and good job.

    3) There is an NTUC sponsored mixed veg rice store here right at the other end of the market. It gives you a 10% discount your plate of nasi lemak or mixed veg rice when you flash your card. Interesting ain't it.

    4) Really fun toy store at the market that sells really interesting toys and general stuffs. Its the owners of the stores that made the difference.

    5) Expensive fruit stores - Its an irony that i find the fruits here expensive especially the store that is facing the service road. One time she wants to charge me $10 for 3 smaller than my palm custard apple. I WAS IN SHOCK TILL DATE.

Its a good eat here and lots to eat at a very good price, however its a huge market and the tables are plenty, not to mention is not really easy to find a clean seat during lunch hours. The cleaners are many however, too crowded, as such it takes them quite a while before they clean it up for you. So patience is a must to have... not forgetting the ever growing queues and the harsh office ladies..... Yar.. watch out for birds and their poos... though spikes have been installed yet still watch where you seat.

i was skeptical to walk into this sushi outlet whom always seemed to have a neverending bee-line and after I have tried it... I regretted doubting them.

$1.50 for every plate of Sushi... Matter of fact I've come across similar adverts and I felt cheated when theres only one sushi on the plate rather than the pair we always meet. So it kinda took me loads of courage to try this $1.50 sushi and I'm happy to inform all you guys out there its really $1.50. Everything on the belt is $1.50. Yes you heard me right, though they do not have a menu and you should pick up anything u delight on the belt for $1.50, the varieties you see here can be better and more than the ones you can choose from the menu of most sushi bars.

I was impressed by the salmon sushi. Its a must have for any sushi meal and here the portion is really good. Large and juicy raw salmon with a medium small ball of rice. Its fresh and cold when served. The sashimi is a little to thin for me and I also love the hotate sushi. The ingredients they use are pretty fresh and I must say service is good. The belt is almost always full of selections and the chef never stopped producing new varieties to be placed on the belt. Its super good value as green tea, serviette and wet towel is free and you are only billed by the plates you eat.

The must eat when you are there.
    1) Whole Scallop (Hotate) - Yes, they give you the whole thing with egg and some sauce.... and its not tiny

    2) Sweet shrimp sushi - shrimp is fresh and sweet and meaty
    3) Prawn sushi - prawn is almost half cooked, fresh and sweet
    4) Salmon sushi - salmon is large and fresh
    5) Some raw fish with attached yellow eggs - exceptionally nice visually and delicious

Its $1.50 per plate, service is okay but belt is always full of selections. On peak hours they have this slip that advised how much time you ought to spend eating, so its kinda a eat and go and peak hours. Its good this way to prevent the queue from waiting too long outside. Not a place to chill and chat with your friends during peak hours, though off peak hours and okay but only during peak hours you get the full selection of what they have to offer...

A fabulous and extremely worth it dining experience. I'm sure to intro and return often.

This outlet is one of the best Aston Outlet's there's ever been. The location is central yet at a higher floor gives it a prestigious image yet the prices are affordable. Watch the queue, especially on weekends and eve's of holiday. Though the Mall has got nothing much for shopping, yet the students from the nearby SMU, Laselle and other schools hang around here and loves to dine at Astons... So make sure you arrive early and don't wait for the queue to build up, else you will have to wit pretty long.

Its a pretty huge outlet with booth tables that we enjoy as it gives us much privacy and plenty of tables that can be combined for huge groups of groovy teens. The environment is pretty casual and though you could smell the sweet aroma of grilled meat, its not enough to make you smell like you hang a piece of grilled meat walking around like a brooch.

Selection of food is pretty good and I love the new side addition of Mac n Cheese. The way to order is to choose a main and my favourite has always been hickory bbq chicken, then choose 2 sides, hot/cold. I always love pasta salad and mashed potato.. No reasons... but I feel that they are tasty. Their food is above average and price affordable and of course.. they serve with loads of cheese and potato which most youths love.

Service is quite good and friendly. Its a casual meal and I love the chatty environment. It kinda make me feel young again...

This is one of my secret hideouts. I love to hang at Imam for late night suppers, after drinks cooling down and living the good old days of sitting at the back alley.

Imam is actually walking distance from Kallang MRT... approximately 3mins away and is almost always open. Sometimes pretty crowded during weekends. The selection of food there is great as they do have different types of roti prata, or some called it roti canai, fried noodles, rice and briyani, nasi kandar (Mixed veg with rice). These are some of the stuffs we love to have there:

    1) Teh Halia (Milk Tea with Ginger) - Its not as yummy as my favourite lau pa sat one, but these milk teas with a frothy top packs a punch. Make sure to drink it while its pipping hot less it becomes more and more spicy as it cools down. This is one of life's exciting food.

    2) Bandung (Rose Cordial with milk) - It comes in a giant cup, I guess at least 700ml. Love the way they swirl the milk and the cordial to looks like a latte. It tasted balance, but with all the indian stores, be sure to always ask them to less sweetness.

    3) Milo Dinosaur - Is actually a 700ml milo with ice topped with plenty of dried milk powder. I love it... its yummy, extremely chocolatey and nutritious.

    4) Roti Prata - Kosong is nice and crispy and love the veg curry that comes with it. Tried the sardine mutabak which was a little spicy but fluffy and with loads of contents. The bomb prata was however quite a disappointment. I expected it to be sweet and fluffy yet it was coated in a thick layer of planta margarine.

    5) Mutton Briyani - Is super yummy, good value and mutton curry is soft and well cooked.

Its a nice place to hang with friends however if you want to live the back street style, then watch the flying cockroaches... Its a back alley, so prepare to get acquainted with the residents there!!! Eeekss!!!!

I walked pass this outlet at the bugis junction and could not control myself not to be tempted by the nuggets of gold smiling at me over the glass counter. The aroma of well fried pipping hot fritters... oooh!!! makes me salivate uncontrollably. While I carefully inspected the exhibits, something healthy jumped out at me.....

Fried Tofu in a cup... Its going for $1.50 for quite a number of pieces of fried tofu. Well I thought its healthy and full of proteins so a cup might just satisfy me for the time being. The expressionless staff simple asked... Do you want chilli sauce, mayo or nacho sauce to go with it... For sure I go for the cheese and there I go... piping hot deep fried tofu drizzled in yellow cheese.

The cheese is superbly yummy. Like every nacho cheese flavor in town, its with a hint of paprika. Crunching on the thin crust of the soft and creamy tofu, though piping hot is superbly satisfying. The aroma of the just fried tofu while the springy tofu only mean fresh ingredients and well prepared batter.

It was a rather good experience and I'm surely going back for more.

Went to Laline at Marina Square yesterday and I must say, the service is really good. Their Staffs are so attentive and knowledgeable about their products. As she explains about their different range and products, I was invited to try the product at this very nice squarish sink.

The body peel is actually a body scrub that comes in a couple of exotic flavours. Theres also this oil soap which is not oily at all, just that after a good wash, it feel soft and moisturised. Great for dry or flaky skin. The products are arranged by their flavors and they also do have smaller ml ones for travel.

As its my birthday month, I've got a 50ml handcreme for free and I get to even choose the different flavors. On top of that, I was offered a one for one regular price items which I bought a body pill in oriental flavor and a body creme that smelt of my favorite range, the OCEAN OCEAN. I've also got for myself a travel set with body wash, creme and handcreme in Vanilla Scent.... :)

It was a very pleasant experience and the location is easy to find. Just right at the corner facing the event concourse just next to the Old Fox Shop. Service is good, pricing had increased since they first launch but still of good value. Now they have a promo to receive a free lip gloss for thursday shopping. For more info, can check out the FB.

I went to peach garden for a family dinner and though we had a great deal of ala cart buffet at S$ 39 buy 3 get 1 free, for a table of 12, we still paid about S$460 with no beer, just the buffet...

Everything was good, selection plentiful and we've got one set of the peking duck free which is quite yummy. Each were entitled a bowl of sharks fin which came in many colours. Why i say so, each flavor has got a different colour. I ordered the crab meat one, and its slightly reddish, while the fish bone a marrow one was milky white.

Dishes are sized according to the table size, however we always asked for a smaller dish just so that we will not end up wasting food. If we liked it, we order a 2nd or 3rd helping. For the entire dinner this is what we ate

    1) Fried Fish (2 orders) - nice and crispy
    2) Steamed Fish (2 orders) - in soy sauce more of a hongkong style
    3) Wasabi Prawns (2 orders) - crispy and creamy
    4) Black Pepper Prawns (2 orders) - fresh prawns fried with shells
    5) Stewed Pork in Meichai (1 Order) - Pork soft and yummy
    6) Braised Beef Tendon (1 Order) - Soft yet smelt like stewed pork
    7) 3 eggs spinach (1 Order) - this took slightly longer to arrive i wonder why, spinach is yummy.
    8) Braised Tofu (2 Orders) - Tofu is fried with a smooth thick sauce over it.
    9) Fried Fish with pork floss (2 Orders) - Fish is crispy and light with a generous pork floss topping.
    10) Fried Ee Foo Noodles (1 Order) - Noodle over done, bloated and not yummy. This dish is badly done.
    11) Fried Hor Fun (1 Order) - Noodles too sticky and not properly done
    12) Fried Rice (1 Order) - Ingredients ample and simple and light, tasty yet healthy.

The choice of desserts are plentiful and almost everything is yummy... We had many servings each.

    1) Mango Dew with pomelo - Very yummy, slightly acidic yet is super nice
    2) Passion Fruit Ice Jelly - Jelly is QQ and dessert sweet... just hope they gave more.
    3) Black Glutinous rice - Comes with a ball of coconut ice cream... extremely nice and balanced taste.
    4) Almond cream - Yummy, balanced and sweet
    5) Longan and Red Dates soup - Loads of longan... yummy!

Service is pretty good, staff attentive and restaurant is busy. Located about 5 mins walk away from the Novena MRT and you have to cross the road.... Its quite a hassle to cross this road. Great experience, food is okay only for the price. I still feel a little over priced even with the 3 free 1 promo.

After reading the review from Natsu, I went especially to try the Ramen and of course the free flow Eggs.... Was so excited, I brought along all mine Kakis and proceeded on a wednesday evening to bugis.

I must say the place is easy to find and rather spacious despite the small shop front. The restaurant is pretty long and casually decorated with a traditional Japanese style to it. As we arrived, we were shown into the restaurant, at this time 7pm the restaurant is still pretty empty with only about 5 tables taken up. We were each given a slip of paper to fill in our orders and a menu that is very limited in choice, just some side dishes but loads of flavoured Ramen roughly categorised into the 4 seasons, Winter, summer, autumn and spring as well as a KING...

We each decided which Ramen type we wanted to try and chose the strength of the soup... The stronger the broth the saltier the soup, as such most of us picked natural, add on sides if you would like, an additional $1 for a slice of seaweed, $2 for an egg, etc... As we completed our orders, we were quickly served water (i appreciate that), self grinding sesame (terribly aromatic) and a container of seasoned bean sprouts...
A table full of whatever Jap seasoning is available for us to add that extra punch.

The noodles arrived shortly and all four seasons tasted different yet distinct in its own way. We ground our sesame, i must say pretty fun and added that into our noodles and it made it more yummy. The noodles were properly cooked and broth very tasty, though it felt natural is still too salty for me. We have loads of bean sprouts as it was crunchy and very appetizing and the free flow EGGS were amazing.

The eggs were not HUGE eggs but rather of a smaller size but so well-cooked, i never had a better boiled egg. The egg white is springy and soft yet the yolk is totally cooked. I had 2 of the eggs while my friends had more than 2 because its totally too delicious. The entire meal was very enjoyable and service is fast. Food is delicious and the ramen is priced affordable. Ambience is nice, very jap style and environment comfortable. Good for dates and great for big groups, however do note that they only allow entry for complete groups, as such when u see a long queue outside, don't frat coz maybe it s just incomplete groups waiting, so do proceed to the door and ask the staff...

I went for the Clarins Beauty Talk with the OCBC credit card mailer and boy did I not had a wonderful time... While I emailed to make the appointment, the reply was quick and for a slot of max 4 persons, i managed to secure 2 at the time and day of my liking. Its not for free of course, yet its extremely worth it because the amount paid can be fully redeemed with purchase of any product.

I was excited when I approached the counter with my friend for the beauty-talk. We had to make payment first which was quick and were issued vouchers of the entire sum we had paid, then we were offered to seat at a private corner while the friendly staff chat up with us on the daily skin problems we face. After making a mental note on our issues and skin type, we proceeded to start the beauty-talk because the others were late. I silently appreciated this professional act. The staff introduced their beauty analyst who brought with her a large tray of clarin product and offered us disinfected hair bands. This is a hands-on session and we could use all the product available.

We eagerly put on our hair-band and the analyst sprayed a perfume like alcohol sanitizer on her hand while she explained the use of it. Smelled really nice and we felt like princesses. She worked on my friend's face while I work on my own imitating her actions as she knowledgeably explained the functions and ingredients of the products. I love the mask, though we only tried on half our face. The mask is light and foamy yet creamy. Its goes thick yet light on our faces and after we cleaned it off, our skin felt tighter and perkier... Its good result for one application.

As we kind-of completed our applications of the various pampering products, Our faces felt essentially moisturised, light and gives off a pinkish glow. We were also given a starter set that comprises of travel sized items as well as generous set of test packets of their latest anti-aging range of serum and day and night creams. We were wooed to buy more of their products however as we rumbled on the current products we were using, the friendly staff was not overbearing nor insistent about our purchase. We each used up the coupon to purchase some daily products and happily headed home. Though we didn't give them a BIG SALE (as the products are moderately higher priced), the staff were still friendly and professional, as such, i'm sure to go back and give them more business. Excellent character and sales attitude. I am impressed.

The products were great in texture and do really made a difference to my skin, though I'm the regular combination skin with many other issues due to my laziness. I'm gonna try the stuffs in my goodie bag and be sure to go back for more...

I've had a great experience and its totally worth it. The money I used to buy the products, I get a free comprehensive hands-on on most of the products on top of that a very fruitful goodie bag... I'm simply aesthetic....

If you enjoy looking pretty and making other's pretty then the MAKE UP FOREVER ACADEMY have courses to offer you to learn the art of using cosmetics to create illusions. I feel honoured to be invited to attend their open house during the SG Night Festival and am even more excited to see their products.

I was admiring the awesome glittering tattoo on the lady's face when she greeted me at the door with the warmest smile I've ever seen. While I step inside, I am amazed by the rows and rows of cosmetic products in a huge array of colours, hues and textures. The staffs mostly dressed in black, with the most flawless made up faces and funky tattoos happily introduced their products to me. The products are made in a few range, one for normal, another for artistic expressions like body arts with options of high glittering colours and luminous colours. Yes you heard me its luminous and not fluorescent, though they do have fluorescent hues, its the luminous that AWED me.

I was later invited upstairs to view their exhibits whereby mannequins are painted with luminous cosmetic products in the most intrinsically mesmerizing design styles. Its an exceptional experience as we entered a dark dark room, only illuminated by UV tubes of a dark blue hue and the body art of the mannequins simply light up the spaces around them. It looked fantastic, every theme on the mannequins are carefully chosen and expressed in the most illustrative manner. Check out also your teeth and eyeballs, they too glows in this light wave.

After a tour of the exhibits, we headed back down and got ourselves a cool tattoo in luminous body paint. A further explanation of the different courses they offer like bridal make-up courses, diploma courses in make-up, body painting and many other beauty related courses are also available and scheduled.

The visit ended with a good tone and by their individual made up faces as well as their demo of the products, I could find their proficiency in using these professional make up tools and products as such if I have any friends who is interested to learn the art of using cosmetics, I am sure to ask them to take up a course here.

The range of the products is pretty comprehensive and location really good, near to Armenian street and facilities complete.
