Of all the McDonald's I must talk about this one..... Our childhood memories, our pride, the Kallang Stadium. Eventhough it is now under Renovation, but the McDonald nearby there is still filled with people all the time. The food taste the same everywhere and the fries and sundae seemed ancient to me.. but this outlet has got plenty of power sockets for you to power up the devices especially your Lappy...
What good does it do when you have wireless internet without power sockets?
With this, many can study there, do their homework, do presentations to their customers and other business or sales persons can function from there. It is indeed a fabulous place to work in.. and what more.. there are PLENTY of FREE PARKING all over this outlet..... Food is priced at the same amount but it is more functional here... The location is out of town but not far away from town... Really a perfect place for corporate employees.
There is also an indoor play ground for your kids to play... A perfect place for the family. Can you imagine your Hubby reading the papers, you reading your online magazine on your lappy and your kids having a great time in the playground.. perfect for a non working day.....
Love Japanese Fastfood? Then you must come to MOS BURGER.. EVERYTHING is nice.... I wonder why....
I love burgers but with a tinge of japanese seasoning in them, I love it more.... Ever since i came across MOS Burger when I was a little girl Many many years ago, I was so intrigued that i spent the rest of my week having MOS Burger's Burgers for the rest of the week.
The Burgers, each nicely wrapped with soft and juicy fillings are simply irrisistable. My favourite is the MOS CHEESE BuRGer.... I love the many chopped onion soaked in delectable sauce and the OH Sooo... Yummy Myo....
My Dad and Bro loves the rice burgers. be it chicken or beef. They love the thinly sliced juicy beef cooked to perfection.... The Fries are normal but do ask for that extra sinful Myo... it sure goes well with the fries...
The corn soup is also very very nice especially with a huge dose of pepper. Not forgetting with the japanese salad with the refreshing sauce.
The next thing i loved most is the ICE MILK TEA... really creamy creamer they use.....
If you love ice cream or MILK SHAKES.. you must try their COFFEE SHAKE... its fabulously...... YUMMY... so creamy with a thick coffee flavour.
Ready for a FEAST..... Then you must come to HOOTERS.... I am not just referring to a feast of food, but also an eye feasting.
Whenever i walk pass HOOTERS.... It is not the food that attracted me, but the OWLs? Thats when OWLS have sexy tight butts in that OH SO SEXY HOT PANTS... n that so tight teeney weenie T-Shirt.....
HUSH HUSH..... I am an all Man girl and i LOVE MEN.... But I enjoy appreciating beautiful things, especially that of my fellow Sex....
So one day, Me and my friends decided to go for the HOOTERS EXPERIENCE and boy.... I just can't stop the boys from drooling all the time.... The food was OK... American style.... but the girls were so distracting.... Or perhaps i should say the boys were irritating.... They kept asking for more attention, requesting for this and that and ordered alot of snack and beers.... and subsequently asking the ladies for their contact numbers.. you know the USUAL.... They are exactly like the OWL, stalking at the waitresses walking here and there... at the same time acting indifferent.
The beer and the snacks is good... Then again.. the beer is always good... The chicky WINGS are fabulous... well marinated, crunchy and juicy...
But i am really impressed with the service of the waitresses. They are very friendly and nice, and they know how to reject you gently while providing alternatives at times.
For the Fun and the Good Services... Now i know why OWLs have got BIG EYEs........
Cheap and good is what I call this Chicken Rice Stall.
It was love at first sight! Ever since I took my first mouthful of the rice and chicken with their chilli, I knew immediately that this is what I'll be having for a long long time.
As a fan of chicken rice (I don't take char siew or any food with pork/lard) I give this stall 4 out of 5 thumbs up. I'll order their set everytime I have it. Paying just $3.50 for a plate of boneless chicken, vegetables, rice and soup. Where can you find such a cheap chicken rice meal? I remember paying $5.50 to $6 for a set exactly the same at Food Courts.
The meat is served with cucumber, a slice of tomato and few pieces of archar. Texture of meat is just right and it isn't too oily. The chilli is good too. Trust me. Cos I'm a chilli freak! LOL!
I wonder what do you think about READING MAGAZINES on your computer? Well, i think its saves the earth by reducing printing and waste and these days we spend most our time on the computer then anything else.
I recognise the fact that hard copies of magazines and books are still one of our favorites and i can go on and on about the multiple usages of overdue copies of the magazines...
However, i took it as a new challenge to read magazine on my lappy and I found it more interactive and fun then ever. There are thousand and one online magazine shops but i chose ZINIO because of its very good deals. I could get some overseas magazines for just a fraction of its price at the local book store. I do receive some free magazines occassionally with them as well... Its really good.....
You may subscribe or download some free copies of magazine for viewing first. I don't deny that there will be some getting used to... But its good...
Firstly, the magazines are cheaper.... but they arrive more timely then the actual print. It flips just like a normal magazine then again, it is prone to your lappy's Speed. The files are not huge and you may download them into more then one computer. They are also stored online and if you log in at your work computer, you can download the current copy and the past copies right into your 2nd computer at work... Some magazines are interactive... On some pages, you can see videos, music and multiple images on one page.
You must really try it.. Its FUN and It SAVES THE EARTH.....
Me too when to a complimentary massage session at Body Wellness.... The treatment was pretty comfortable, not fabulous but OK....
But i didn't really like the no emotions face the staff put on. Its rather not welcoming. The environment was relaxy... and during my hot wrap therapy, the lady that massaged me were talking with her staff outside my room at the walkway... The partition was thin..... i could hear the exclaimation the laughter and everything else... Talk about resting and relaxing.....
After my session, they showed me into this mean looking room and started to rattle on their packages. I kindly rejected them, but they insisted on telling me more... Coaxing my credit card out of my wallet.... I did not purge.... Just insisted NO.....
I should just say... good range of services... but got much to work on the staffs.
As you may know, I like the fried fish bee hoon over at Beach Road and like to walk there for the soupy lunch. As usual, there was a long queue. Not usual was my decision to find something else to eat. So I backtracked a bit and came to Leong Kee. It seems quite popular, why not give it a try since there are seats?
The order took longer than expected. I must have waited about 15 to 20 mins for my claypot of Bak Kut Teh and rice combo. But when I came, I was pleasantly surprised.
The soup was boiling in the heat insulating claypot when it was presented by before me. So it scores on presentation. The consistency of the soup was almost like a gravy, liken to say, sharks' fin soup and it had a strong herbal taste. Particularly, it had the bitterness from the tang gui used. Unfortunately, that was about all the herbs I could taste. It was something enjoyable, though on the heavy side for a soup.
I liked the addition of the tau kee or fu pi which gave the dish an extra dimension. The vegetable added was also a nice touch. The meat served here seems to be always spare ribs, which is tender to the bite. I liked that it was cooked to the extent where the meat comes off the bone easily.
On another occasion, I tried the pig's trotter. I liked the smoky taste which came from the high heat treatment just before it is served. The texture of the meat was tender and the skin, tendon and fat are something that should be tried at least once no matter how health conscious one may be.
Price-wise, I thought it was quite reasonable as they gave generous servings. A small claypot of bak kut teh or pig's trotters goes for $4.60, rice for 30 cents, youtiao for 50 cents.
The girlfriend's pals were gracious enough to let me in on their gathering at The Pump Room. So we got there early to get ourselves a table.
For the uninitiated, The Pump Room is a microbrewery and bistro. So we ordered our beers and sides first while we waited for the rest to arrive. We were ushered to a table and presented the menu. I took my time to look through the menu for something that might inspire me...
Beer
Personally, I prefer dark beers whenever come to a beer place. I have this preconception that dark beers from a place specializing in beers would offer something interesting. Plus dark beers usually meant more dimensions in terms of the flavor, which would be better experience compared the fizzy, foamy, bitter and pale stuff.
I settled for their Scottish ale, a dark beer with a nice taste of roasted malt. It goes down slightly more bitter at first, but ends sweetly.
Sides
Our appetite was growing as we waited for the others. So we decided to order some sides to keep our mouths occupied. I was disappointed that there wasn't anything like buffalo wings on the finger food menu. The best they could muster were a few potato-based sides and garlic bread. The rest of the table did set their eyes on something else...
Creamy Mashed Potato was pretty good. I did wish there was some bacon crisps mixed into it. Would have been a great combination of textures.
Sauteed Shitake Mushrooms with herbs was nice too. Although it was on the salty side. The chunky garlic was a nice touch which I liked.Still waiting, I decided to entertain myself and the "early-birds" with my camera...
More of the interior
And the fascinating "optic fibre" lighting which changes color...
Service
We were rather taken aback when we realized that the staff had failed to inform us about their special offers for their brewed beers. We thought fine, since we never asked. Then we got really annoyed that many of the wait staff were selective of who they wanted to serve. There was this group of Caucasians that took the table in front of us and were given a VIP treatment while the other tables like mine were conveniently neglected and ignored. I then realized the wait staff were consistently tipped by that table for every item served. Talk about spoil market!
But I guess I shouldn't harp on that. I mean, there are other stuff to be peeved by. Like the wait staff's snail-like and begrudging response times for plain water. It seems like they convenient forget your requests. Not like we won't order other stuff, right?
Main Courses
I found the Linguine with Prawns, Mussels, Scallops and Squid Aglio Olio style was pleasantly spicy with black peppercorns. The seafood was fresh done just right, with the exception of the mussels which were really raw. I think it is because we are so used to the well-cooked mussels in chilli.
One can hardly go wrong with The Pump Room's Special Steak Burger with Salad and Chips. But it does lack the necessary punch to live up to its "Special" status.Beer-Battered Pacific Dory with Chips, Tartare Sauce and Mesclun Saladwas nothing special, though the chips were pretty good.
My order was the Hickory smoked BBQ Baby Back Ribs in Special Beer Marinade. It was a rather standard and ordinary quality. nothing to shout about.
The verdict for mains collectively would be somewhere between mediocre and average.DessertsThe plan had been to stay to catch the live band perform. So we needed to "buy ourselves some more time" in the form of desserts.
The Warm Chocolate Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream was fantastic! The warm, thick chocolate pudding was probably oven toasted to achieve a crispy outer crust with a slightly charred taste. Every mouthful of the thick melted chocolate and the crispy crust was a luxurious experience.
Soft Centered Pavlova with Tropical Fruits and Passionfruit Curd was a light, zesty dessert thanks to the fruits involved at the sides. Pretty enjoyable if you just love the sugar. Personally, I found it a little too sweet, but nevertheless, it had a good mix of textures to be experienced with every little bit placed into the mouth.
There is a sudden realization that one can't really go wrong with a Cheese Platter. With very distinctive textures and tastes, it will instantly turn one into a cheese connoisseur.
By the time we wipe off everything on the plates, the band started their act. Plenty of 80's and 90's music to dance the night away.
Last but not least, the toilet was pretty decent, a good thing to have with all the booze going around.
Interested in getting a Brazilian WAX? For First Timers... you must come to Revive Wellness and especially ask for Lynn...
I guess many have definitely heard of brazilian waxing and it is always associated with pain, but I'm quite sure its worth the effort... after which you could see your tropical rainforest bare with baby smooth skin....
You need some courage to do such kind of waxing and Lynn is very assuring and accomodating...
When i first stepped in Revive wellness, the soothing aroma of the essential oils soothes me from my rush rush. It is not Huge but its very cosy. The lighting and interior design brings about a relaxing atmosphere, immediately I felt calmness within me.
The ladies working there were helpful and nice. They showed me to a spacious restroom where I can wash up and slip into the comfy 100% SILK Jap Style Bathrobe.. It was very sweet and I have since decided to get myself a couple of those beautiful comfy robes.
I was then showed into another room when Lynn introduced herself and brief me about the procedure.. She even provided me with cushions and asked me if I was comfortable. She is very assuring and resourceful as she made use of many nominal things to prop me up in many ways and it was very very comfortable.
First she covered your legs with a warm towel and trimmed the area. She did it so gently that there was no need for embarassing feelings. Then she applied some cool lotions.
I really liked the different creme being applied. There was one for clensing, one to numb and one to soothe... When the wax is being applied, it was warm and very SHIOK.. and then the ripping part in which is quick and it sure did remove alot of hair, best of all, you could see the white heads of the hair (Sense of Establishment).
It felt exactly like when you get smacked on your thighs. Its like a one time pain, BEARABLE yet it goes away real QUICK and leaves a nice bare portion. The whole process was so quick and I was very very comfortable. The soothing music and comfy environment made me a little sleepy despite the supposedly aggitating process. Lynn was really attentive to my emotions and needs. She made the whole process such a brisk and fun one.
The wax has got different flavours. The one i choose is the Strawberry one... Its a nice pinky tinge and its very soothing. They do have the chocolate version for it, and if you like it chocolatie you can ask them for it. The wax they use is unlike other kinds. It rips off cleanly and does not leave ugly wax bits behind. Unlike strip Waxing, Soft Wax rids hair more cleanly and drags the roots up with them rather strip wax is just acting on the surface.
After the wax, they offer me nice cup of ginger tea and it just completes the whole experience. The other I like about their service is that they are not pushy to buy their packages. Everything is so relaxing and simple. I'm sure to bring my friends back there again.
Its fun and the afterward effects are Fabulous.......
If you’re looking for a place for fine dining, this would be a great place. Definitely, you’ll be expecting your meal to cost a bomb at this restaurant at Fullerton ($100 per head on average). But I’ll say it’s worth the money, for the ambience and great service!
A nicely decorated restaurant which gives the feel of a small room, they offer 5-star service and quality food. You have a whole list of wine to select from to go with your meal, but the menu for the main course changes once every few months. If and when they do offer this, I highly recommend the Scallop entrée and Wagyu Beef main course. The Wagyu Beef comes with oxtail with foie gras. The waiter may warn you that it has a really strong taste, but I assure you the oxtail and foie gras was a good combination of 2. The beef I ordered was medium rare, extremely tender! Well it’s Wagyu Beef after all, so it’ll of course be good. The best thing was that the natural taste of the beef was not concealed by anything like mushroom or black pepper sauce.
Alternatively, if you’re a seafood lover there’s always lobster! The lobster is very fresh and crunchy upon chewing. Once again, there was minimal amount of sauce on the plate, thus allowing one to taste the natural sweet flavour of the lobster. This, in my opinion, would be less filling however.
As the place seats only 50 at all times, it allows you to enjoy your meal peacefully. In addition, as San Marco is situated at the top level of Fullerton, you get to enjoy a wonderful view of the sky.. (with an exception of the construction site view). The view may not be extremely awesome, but it sure does beat staring at walls. Perhaps due to the small number of customers at all time, service is efficient too and the waiters are patient and polite. It makes your dining experience even more pleasant.
Great place I’d say! But remember to make reservations.
Of all the McDonald's I must talk about this one..... Our childhood memories, our pride, the Kallang Stadium.
