Compared to many of the subway systems which I had used during my overseas travels, I must say that ours is one of the best in the world. When there is a delay or accident, at least proper announcements and instructions are given. Sometimes even free shuttle buses are given.
Gosh, when I was in London, I was so pissed off with their constant delays and closures of stations for no exact explanations.
I took Aeroline to KL back in April 2006 and man, their service on board was great. Loved the HUGE, comfy seats, the food, the entertainment on board. I was glad to learn that it stopped at Corus Hotel too, for it was a mere 10 mins walk from Petronas Towers. Would love to take it again to KL if I can in the future. The ticket prices are a bit expensive but the excellent quality of service is worth it.
Simply the best? Most likely. I took SIA twice. Once in 2003 and the other time was last November. The first time was to KL and the other was to Brunei (it was a connecting flight from Dubai to Brunei). On both flights, I had experienced great customer service, food and drinks. The crew members were always smiling and asking us if we were hungry and so forth. Although the service is excellent, the pricing of their tickets is certainly too steep. My 2nd flight was in fact a replacement flight from Royal Brunei as I had missed my connecting flight to Singapore due to a flight delay in London. Certainly would take SIA if the prices are right.
Having flown other budget airlines, I must say that AirAsia's crew are not that polite compared to conventional airlines. I flew with AirAsia more than 4 times from Johore Bahru to Kuala Lumpur in the past few years and I had always hated their seats. I had a backache after each flight. The stewardess also looked as if their demonstration of the buckling of the seat-belts were not a serious one. They frowned. I totally ignored what I saw and slept throughout each flight as a result of the LOOKS I saw on their faces.
Flew Tiger Airways to Bangkok in December 2006. The flight attendants were friendly and helpful, although I hated the idea of free-seating as the other passengers simply shoved and pushed their way through the queue. :( I didn't like the fact that they had very limited food on board, and the high costs for them. I bought a sandwich for more than S$4 on my return flight and though it tasted well, I felt that it was not worth the price.
