Since the opening of Expo, we never failed to eat here.
Their price and food v worthwhile and always v crowded.
But yesterday, Sat, we were surprised to get a indoor seat and still able to order the famous half chicken set.
Our usual order of half chicken set, pork chop rice, watercress hot drink and milk tea glassjelly and 1 tart.
However I realised the portion shrunk, the half chicken was smaller and even the watercress hot drink was served in a mug then the usual jug. The price for the half chicken has gone up also.
I had dim sum a few times here whenever Im in Chinatown area.
The dim sum takes a while to be served as they are heated up when you order. They have a open concept working area where you can see how they made the Rice Roll.
My usual order of Har Go, Rice Roll w/Prawn, Carrot Cake, Char Siew Bun and a few others with a pot of tea for 2 costs $16.
They do have chinese dishes if you do not want dim sum. I have tried their frog leg porridge once, grade them ok (as I have tried really good frog leg porridge elsewhere)
Clean environment, OK service and reasonable price.
My 1st visit there on a Tuesday evening at 7pm with a gf who's a regular, there was a queue forming outside the entrance.
While waiting she was telling me to try the Hamburger Steak, we waited for 10mins and was offered barcounter seat.
We ordered the Hamburger steak and escargots. The escargots was served w fire, wow... my 1st time to see such a way of serving.. V entertaining and delicious too.
The Hamburger stead was good too, with a sunny up on top.
(4gotten to take pics, was busy eating rite away after being served :))
When the dinner crowd starts to leave around 9, we asked for a window seat and order the brownie with ice cream. (Finally remb to take a pic of it).
I wasn't a brownie fans, but it's not as rich and harden which I have eaten somewhere else.
I think the best part of this place is the check out bill, a tag with a key, just like a hotel room. hahahaha... If you have been there, you know what i mean. (see pic)
The service staff is nice and environment is comfortable.
I was consider the 1st batch of customers on its opening day.
My husband has been working for a Japanese MNC for 10years, and has been travelling frequently to japan.
We were rather disappointed when our food was served. It was just rice with curry and meat that's it served on a white plate. It wasn't anything japanese at all. It's look just like mixed veg rice in hawker centre.
Thou my husband did say here's not japan but if you want to serve japanese food, please serve it as how it should be served in the japanese style.
It's food content is not worth the value too. Never step in again.

Overall still ok to go back again

Was v disappointed with the breakfast. I ordered a wafer set that comes with 2wafer, scrambled egg, a honey bisuit with tea.
The wafer and biscuit was hard and the egg was bland. I didn't finish it and no more 2nd time having KFC's breakfast.
I pay $5 just drink my tea.
