This outlet located at the heart of Business District, classy renovation, and by the sea side, has got good ambience for business seafood meal, also suitable for foreigners / friends / colleagues / staff / family gatherings or birthday celebrations.
Its generously presentable Seafood and Chinese food dishes is always safe for meal functions.
I like its White Pepper Crab (1Kg and above to good size claws meat) and yummy Crab roe.
Its Singapore Chilly Crab is also nice with generous egg in the sauce, good dip for its Man-Tou (white bun).
A lot of my female friends like its Cereal Butter Prawns with edible fried mint leaves. The Prawns are fresh and good size. We always snatch its crispy sweet cereal fried egg floss, which goes well with white rice.
Looking forward to go back to eat again, can order more dishes when go in a group.
I've heard so much about this place from the older generation people that the food is good, and a place for aunties gathering too. The food is authentic and tasteful that there's still local Chinese mid-30s couple using this place as their Wedding Banquet venue.
I finally have the chance to visit this place on a Saturday for Dim Sum lunch with my friend who works at the office nearby. We reach just before 12pm on Sat, so no need to wait for seats, still got seats there, but by 12.30pm , the place is almost filled.
It feels like traveling to another country's old Chinese Restaurant with push-carts by older mature waitress, different from the modern Chinese restaurant. Thus, it has its nostalgic ambience of its own, a change from modern restaurant.
The Dim Sum dishes are done in authentic way, not much creativity, but that's what make it special and worth going back to eat original taste of Dim Sum.
I like its char-siew bao, har-gau, chee cheong fun with char-siew or prawn, fried prawn rolls, steamed pork ribs, and its very fragrant Egg tarts... yummy.
Nonetheless, its siew-mai, har-gau & century egg porridge is quite authentically ordinary, as I've found better quality & texture ones at Fortunate Restaurant (Vivo city).
Its standard seems to have dropped or perhaps there's more competitors now providing similar food, that makes its no longer so special than when this flagship outlet first arrived in Singapore a few years ago.
Over-hyped for its imported foreign brand. Tried its Chef's recommendation dumplings & xiao-long-bao, taste almost the same as other Chinese Dumplings restaurants all over Singapore.
Seems to lost its attraction of wanting to go back to eat often feeling.
Not worth the queue or long wait during peak meal hours nowadays.
It claims to be different in their meat cuts and cooking and fries cuts different from other fast foods outlets, and priced it almost double than BK.
But when I ate their specialty burger with beef platter, can't seems to taste much difference of its meat cuts tenderness and cooking standard compared to BK. And after taste when the balance of the food is cool, its has the sticky gluey oil feeling similar to BK oil (such harder to digest sticky oil feeling is not found in Mac burger).
When eating their specialty fries, I was missing Mos Burger, Swensens & occasional Mac fries.
Even though its NOT value-for-money for my standard, but I know of other mid-30s Westernized female friends who are a fan of this. The typical local early-30s male friends don't really appreciate this.
Can easily find seat at this outlet during weekday lunch time, but car parking is challenging there.
Maybe not many customers during weekday lunch time, thus the service was Good and Prompt.
OK for its Chicken, Fragrant Rice from chicken stock & Oyster Sauce vegetable.
I also like its slight spicy chilled boneless chicken feet, which nowadays not many Chicken Rice Stall can do it well.
The food leaves a good after taste, which will keep customers returning back to eat again.
