Went to try out this newly opened, 3week's old spa in Safra Yishun Country Club.

Was quite surprised on a sunny saturday to have slots for walk-in customer. I request for their 60mins Signature Massage - Hut 67 Massage. I have a quick shower and was lead to a room with 6beds, I was showed to a bed and then asked to disrobe myself and lie on the bed, the curtain drawned as the girl leave the area.

Minutes later a therapist came in and start to rub my body with oil. The massage is just ok, the pressure is not constant, was firm and soft at times. And when other customer walk in, the conversation between the customer and therpist was very disturbing. And the massage is very oily, too oily to be a good massage as the therapist can't hold onto the meridian points.

Dont expect very luxurious spa facilities, the toilet and bath area are common used and the room curtained up with 6 beds.

Overall not too bad to kill time while waiting for husband/boyfriend at gym or swiming and provided you dont mind a very oily massage

NOthing comes FREE... I had a call from them sometime back for a couple of FREE sessions. I was asked to go and pick up the coupons. When Im there, a guy ushered me to their lobby and start to look at me from head to toe and to my horror, this is what he says "Miss, you have a tummy and and your arms are flabby, im sure you are not happy, that's y you are here today" ... My god,is this how you talk to your customers, a lady customer somemore. I was v annoyed and tell him that Im here for the free coupons not for his comments on my body.

He kept saying he will sure give me the FREE coupons but he wants to share with me the good of his club.. 'Even how good your club is I dont think I want to join, you are so rude' this is my thought from the moment he say of my body to the time I walk out of the club.

He pull me around and show me the facilities and the products they have and kept telling me their 'heavenly price' is v worthwhile compared to other clubs. To end it all, he says 'paying this price, can get rid of your fats and tone you up, why not, right',,, 'even my gf can't tahan got tummy, im sure you as a lady oso can't'.... this is the last sentence I hear from him coz I m already blacked face.

I tell him i got to go and i dont want his coupons and took my bag, stand up and leave the lobby. As I walk towards the escalator, he run up to me and handed me the coupons saying ' you are here for the FREE coupons, i SURE will give you, here you go' ... Thou I did take the coupons, but i tear it up as I leave the building, telling myself never will I walk up to this place again.

What a sales person??? Should I consider him no manners or no customer service at all. Wonder how he can pursude other ladies into joining his club with this kind of comments.

Maybe coz I go for the FREE, as he kept mentioning throughtout the 30mins. If you are there to buy the membership, mayb you can get better comments from him. I dont know.

*My ratings is for the GUY (customer service) not the club.

    feizhu feizhu says:

Parkway Thai Restaurant's latest introduction to the culinary scene is one that fuses Thai and Spanish cuisine together - Limon, which started operations about a month ago in early August. I believe Limon is a portmanteau of the words lime and lemon, which was also used to market Sprite (the soft drink) a couple of decades ago.

Occupying the former premises of the restaurant turned food centre stall Cilantro along Purvis Street, Limon plays neighbour to more illustrious eateries like Garibaldi, Yhingthai Palace and Gunther's. The first floor of Limon spans out into the wine bar while the restaurant and private dining room sits on the second and third floor respectively. The restaurant's interior is somewhat muted but boasts a cosy sitting arrangement (about 20pax or so) complete with wooden flooring and large olden style post war architecture windows. Personally I liked the private room, which comes with a glass partition that overlooks part of the second floor and also the windows.

Limon's Special Nut Mix & Complimentary Bread - Honestly I thought that the mixture of peanuts, cashew nuts, pecan nuts and walnuts were rather interesting with lemongrass and chilli thrown into the concoction. It provided a nice twist to the usual boring nuts you get.
On the other hand, I found the complimentary bread way too hard and dry for my liking. And the accompanying dips and margarine didn't help, save for the tangy tomato dip.

Cream of Pumpkin & Tom Kha Guy - The cream of pumpkin wasn't your usual excessively sweet and coagulated version, coming across as mildly sweet without forcing the pumpkin taste down your throat.
Personally I prefered the Tom Kha Guy or the coconut base chicken soup, which excited the palates more with its variety of flavours. Mildly sweet yet sourish and creamy with bits of cut chilli padi to give it a light spice. Very much like robust tom yam soup without the spiciness. I appreciated the adequate slices of chicken and mushrooms as well.

Paella with Seafood, Spanish Sausage & Broad Beans - Paella is a Spanish rice dish which involves cooking spanish rice in a specialised pan called paella or paellera, which is round and shallow with splayed sides. I thought that this dish was quite good as the spanish rice was plump and short, absorbing in the sublime garlicky flavours yet didn't come across as too creamy or sticky like risotto. The spattering of fresh seafood definitely helped in enhancing the dish, making it the undisputed star of the day.

Lobster and King Prawns Phad Thai - I was envisioning a baby lobster flanked by 2 king prawns served on a bed of phad thai but woke up to the sad reality when this dish was served. I made out 2 small cubes of lobster playing second fiddle to a lone upright prawn, whose size didn't exactly befit that of a king. Small portions aside, the prawn and the lobster cubes were overly salty but the glass noodles were springy with a hint of tomato sauce and fell into the dry category, which I personally prefer. Could have done with more grounded nuts though.

Caramel Flan - This heart shape dessert came served with a piece of hard sugar, also carved out into a heart. The pudding reminded me of a more robust and rougher version of creme brulee. The egg taste did come across as a little overwhelming and there was a tinge of lemongrass in the sidelines. Interestingly, the sugar heart tasted like 麦芽糖 or Maltose, which brought back childhood memories.

Tom Banana with Pandanus Leaf and Coconut Sauce - Honestly this was the only dish that I didn't quite take to, mainly because of its soft and rather fibrous texture. The banana was boiled till it became limp but not too mashed up and it reminded me of boiled sweet potato. Sorry but this dessert just didn't do it for me.

All thanks to a 1 for 1 set lunch promotion that Limon is currently offering, the 2 of us chalked up only about $41 for a satisfying and rather enjoyable lunch. Service was decent and personally I thought that the iced water they served was rather interesting with the addition of rosemary. To conclude, I honestly don't see much of a fusion in Limon's dishes and those small pockets of fusion would probably be classified under conservative. However, having said that, I do think that Limon's dishes are of a certain quality and for $20/head (after 1 for 1 discount), its definitely a steal. Please note that the set lunch promotion is ongoing for an undefinite period of time and runs from Monday to Saturday.

    See all my pictures here.

Had a dinner there with my friend and enjoyed it very much.

We were served by a few very polite service staff and was asked to choose 2 out of 6 soup bases.

We chose Mother Hen Chinese Herbal Soup (Good aphrodisiac tonic soup) and Authentic Tom Yam Soup.

There rest of the soup base options were:

    · Fish Bone Chinese Herbal Soup (Good aphrodisiac tonic soup)

    · Traditional Chinese (Ma-Lak) Spicy Soup

    · Traditional Hot & Spicy Soup

    · Traditional Chinese Herbal Pork Belly Soup

The soups were nice, esp the Authentic Tom Yam Soup.

There was also quite a variety of seafood, meat and vegetable to choose.

I guess they were refilled quite fast because I didn't see them run out though there were many customers that night.

Those not at the buffet table (have to choose from the ordering list) were:

Seafood range includes : Live Crab, Fresh Prawn, Sliced Fish, Sea cucumber, Cuttle Fish, Squid (Sotong), Cockle, etc.

Fresh Meat range includes : Sliced Pork, Sliced Chicken, Sliced Beef, Sliced Mutton, etc.

Fresh Organ range includes : Pork Kidney, intestines, Liver, stomach, Beef Tripe

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many Others at the buffet table include fresh vegetables, ManTou, mushrooms etc.

The staff were a polite and gentle bunch of people.
And I find the price quite reasonable.

Will definitely go there for another steamboat buffet =)

This is my 1st time as they are new as well. I got the discount coupon from I-weekly, S$15 per treatment, a total of 15 treatments together.

When I ring for an appointment for the day itself, I was told v fully booked but 1230pm and 4pm slot available. Weird, dont know how they interpret as fully booked but still got that 2slots and also i was asked if i understand chinese as the counter girl wasn't able to speak english.

After explaining to me the treatments on the coupon, I booked for 3treatments, a half hour back massage with steam bath, a O2 facial and an eye treatment.

When i was there, I was given a form to fill up and was asked to buy all the treatments, I told the girl I want to try out the 3 treatments before I decide to buy the rest anot, a very annoying face was shown to me.

I was given a locker to put my clothes and was changed into a robe, taken to a room to start my massage. The aunty was very rough with her actions, the massage was firm but it's her actions, when she put the massage oil on the bed i could feel the 'bang' virbation and throughout she's just so rough, it's because Im paying $15 only??, that's my thought at that moment. She also ask me to find out if i like to buy their full body massage during the massage. When the massage was done, she lead me to a steam room, she try pushing a few buttons on the panel of the room for 5mintues, nothing happen, then she went out to the corridor and start to look for help, saw a lady walk past and ask her how to operate the machine. The lady replied her in front of me, ' aunty i just start work yesterday lay, today my 2nd day, you asked me how to operate' ohoh... my god, to talk infront of your customers like this... no no :(

Finally when the machine start to operate, which should be around 20mins but i saw the timer already 35mins, and it's not stopping and no1 comes to knock on my door. End up, I stop it myself and take a shower, put on my robe and went to the corridor to find anyone to lead me to my next treatment. This is my 1st time ever have to stop the machine and find staff instead of them waiting to lead me.

During the facial, this young lady was telling me my face was very dry and need more facial and kept telling me to buy their facial package. I told her I will think about it after the facial. Throughout the 1hour facial with eye treatment, the door kept opening and closing behind me, the cream and oil and machine are not in the same room, someone will blend the cream and oil to bring in. I thought all these should be blended while I in the steam room, all these should be prepared in advance. I couldn't sleep or rest at all.

Finally it's over, I know another challenge to come, that's the hard selling part. True, Im being lead to a room, a lady show me all the packages and tell me since Im using the coupon, they give v good rates for customers with this coupon.

I told her honestly, I come because of the $15 treatment, Im not here for the package, she then tell me then I should buy all the treatments at $15each which is applicable on the day itself, after that, not allowed to buy at $15.

I bought 2 other facial at $15 each not the rest, as their treatments mostly done with machine, I prefer handwork. I bet when Im there for the 2facials next 2months, Im sure to have to go through the hardsell again.

Honestly after the 2 facials, I wont go there to visit again. The counter lady is not friendly, no smile at all and the tone she speak is like ' u want to buy anot' and the massage is not good also.

Yes, this place is good. Regine who's the Manager will still remb me whenever i ring say 1x a month, even thou im not their member..

I have been there 2x so far. The 1st time i went for a ginger ritual spa. Julie, my therapist, gave me a scrub and wrap me up with carrot bits all over me for half an hour follow with a shower and a firm massage, which I asked for and finally the ginger wrap, bits of ginger was put on me and I was wrap up with 2blankets, I start to feel the heat and was told it will help to get rid of wind and aches, lastly a powder bath was given, I was so relax after a long 3hours of enjoyment.

The 2nd time I ring, I was taken aback when Regine, who pick up my call, recognise me when I tell her my name, that's 1month later, this time i went for just a javanese massage. The massage was just good only as the petite malay girl was not able to give me firm massage which I asked for.

But overall, the experience and atmosphere is still good, will still go again but will ask for Julie instead.

I love Popiah. I like the crunchy peanuts crush and juicy turnip fillings. It’s hard to find a good one these days. Be it the tried type or the handmade type.

I went to the newly renovated hawker centre in Chinatown for dinner. I found one Popiah stall - An Zhen (安珍).

This stall DIY the Popiah Skin. They also sell Fried Yam roll. But I only tried their Popiah. The skin is crispy. What I like most is the little crispy inside. I duno what it is though. I find that the filling is a bit little. I prefer those FAT and JUICY type. However, my Dear Dear who dun really take Vegetable, surprisingly LOVE this stall’s Popiah very much. He even went for a second helping! Haaaa…. The queue is super long! He said he cannot taste much of the vegetables but alot of the sweet crispy crunch. :D

Recommended by a friend, so I went for lunch with some colleagues.

We ordered two items to share:

    Gnocchi Di Patate
It’s Potato base Pasta which they all it Potato Dumplings (Gnocchi) cooked in tomato sauce with cream and mushroom. Very chewy. I personally like it a lot.

    Carnivora
I do not take beef. But my colleagues are Carnivores so we order this which is full of meat - bacon, ham, chicken sausage, pepperoni (BEEF). Haaaa… I removed all the pepperoni ate it. I do like the thin crust. It’s good. Not too dry. But too much will kill me coz its too MEATY!

Their service is a bit slow even though there are not many customers. I guess its because they freshly bake everything. They only make the pizza when you order.
