Ate at Secret Recipe as we had wonderful experience with the food at Secret Recipe Malaysia. We are definitely and absolutely stupid to think that if the quality of food is the same at the Singapore branch.

My chicken Cordon Bleu looked like (all 4 opinions) : Sweet potato deep fried and there's hardly any cheese in it, just a bunch of ham and chicken a bit of cheese here and there. Compared to the time at KL that I've eaten, where the cheese will flow out when we cut the chicken. Dry texture and not much taste. This dish certainly failed. My husband ordered Black Pepper Chicken chop with rice and my husband's comments were:"the sauce tasted a bit strange."

Besides that, we were told that plain water is at the cost of $0.50 and since we couldn't find anything we liked in the menu, we decided to get plain water instead. When it came, we were speechless as the so called plain water is just bottled cold distilled water. Its not even the 500ml types but the 300ml type that was just sufficient to fill a cup. The meaning behind the bottled water was that it cannot be refilled. So There~!

Since a main dish cannot really fill my husband's stomach, he decided to order the cakes. As Secret Recipe was well known for having its cake menu half unavailable, we raised our hands to ask the service crew what were available. As expected, none of the crews came over. Nor did they look around or walk around but just hover at the payment counter. That happened when we raised our hands to order our food too.

However, a read up on the reviews will show that there were many positive reviews on the cakes they served. Its too bad that the service crew made us turned off otherwise we would have ordered the cakes and my review of it won't be too bad.

Totally can't understand why the queue would always be so long at this stall. Kind of exaggerating.

It's over-rated. I've tried eating from this stall before once due to curiosity. The rice was so so, not much taste. The fried chicken wing tasted like it had been kept for more than a day, and the meat near the bones looked bloody. The fried egg was also very oily.

Will not think of going back to this stall...especially when the queue is often very long and the food is not nice.

Had my birthday cake from here- Strawberry shortcake.

It was 21cm and cost $32.

It's a vanilla sponge cake layered with strawberry slices. The strawberries were sweet and fresh and there were many slices of them in the cake.

The cake was soft and tasted very good.

The whipped cream was also not bad and it was not heavy.

After having had this cake for my birthday, I introduced this to my group of friends. We bought it for a friend's birthday, and after trying it, they all were satisfied with this cake even after a full meal of steamboat.

I always don't understand why there'd always be long queues for this restaurants. I never liked dining there.

The seating were quite cramp and the service staff were not very efficient.

I'd tried the lasagna, and a few main courses like seafood combo, and sirloin steak. The look of the lasagna was disgusting, and the taste wasn't apetisizing. The seafood combo was also too oily...made me feel very unhealthy eating it. The sirloin steak was also not tasty enough.

The drinks also couldn't make it...It seemed like almost every choice of my drinks was a mistake. It either tasted weird or not very nice.

I will choose not to return to this restaurant.

The lights in this cinema's ticket box office and the hallway to the theatres are not too dim. The seats in the theatres are also quite comfortable.

The seats are not cramp at all and there's enough space for my legs (I have long legs). My neck doesn't ache at all too.

The air-conditioner there is also not too cold for me unlike in other cinemas. I don't have to bring a jacket there. =)

So far this is my favourite cinema for watching movies.

    1446. The Singapore Flyer

Had free admission to this Singapore Flyer with my colleagues.

When proceeding to the flyer on the 2nd level, it was like entering the gates in airport terminal. Kind of weird.

We were then ushered to take a photograph at a "dummy" flyer capsule.

The ride in the capsule itself was fine. But in my opinion, not fantastic. It was too slow for me - 30mins for one single round. It made me feel bored and sleepy for the later half of the time.

I think there wasn't much to view. Whatever that could be viewed could be viewed in other tall buildings like hotels or office building. The ride was not bad but I think it cost too much.

    1447. Sweet Indulgence

After reading several reviews about Sweet Indulgence, i decided to give it a try as a pre-bday celebration with my mum and bf. I placed a reservation beforehand and was asked if we mind al-fresco dining as indoors are full. The guy over the phone was courteous and polite, stating that we can move in once a table is available. I was glad enough.

The place is really hidden and we had been driving in circles trying to find the street. The manager i suppose came out to greet us and showed us our seats. My mum then asked for recommendations and we gladly took them. We had Spaghetti Salmon & Mushroom, Poached Salmon with White Sauce & Herbs, served with Pasta and Seasonal Vegetables, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Soup of the day (mushroom) bread, Tiramisu and Warm Choco Lava Indulgence.

All taste great! Bf esp. like their Cordon Bleu chicken, something different from others. My spaghetti was creamy and just nice for me. Mum's poached salmon was forgotten and came just before we finished ours. There was a bit of a fishy taste though, unlike the one in my spaghetti. But the desserts were the perfect ending to my dining experience.

Their manager would come over and ask if we were satisfied with our food, trying his best to answer my mum's endless questions. Staff were polite as well with a great atmosphere. What more could i ask for?

I don't really like watching movie here and will normally avoid coming here for movie.

The seats are not very comfortable despite there's quite alot of space for the legs.

The back support of the seat is bad and headrest is protruding, thus it causes my neck to ache, and causes me to feel giddy and headache.

The directions to the specific theatres are also not very clear.

Wasn't very pleased when I tried Ice Monster in Plaza Singapura. It was not as good as the one in Bencoolen.

Of course the prices of the desserts were the same but the quality and taste of the desserts lost to the ones in Bencoolen.

The desserts tasted average and the ice didn't taste milky enough at all.

    Doubt would go back there...

I'd go to the one in Bencoolen instead.

This has got to be one of the affordable, yet delectable places for Japanese food. I went there to celebrate my friend's birthday over a meal, which was my 2nd trip to this outlet.

The ambience is a pretty relaxed, yet laidback style of surrounding. A pretty simple décor that is not too complicated on the eyes. Taking the balcony seats could allow you to take a peek at the hustle and bustle of the busy shoppers in Bugis Junction.

As per my previous review on the Marina outlet, MOF tends to employ many foreigners for service staffs. Likewise, the bugis outlet has a significant amount of Burmese (Myanmar) and Chinese mix. The staff doesn't understand the name of the dish when we are ordering, so she quoted the number of the dish instead. I think the staffs could have done better in terms of their product knowledge, even from the simplest of memorising the dish name.

Had a potato salad for a started. It was not bad, with small chunks of apples in inside. I wasn't feeling hungry, so I just had a Karaage Udon. The chicken is normal, what can I say? Lol. The udon is soft and QQ. And the soup is pretty rich. For those that can take spicy food, do try adding the chilli powder that is provided which adds taste to the soup. Wasn't in the mood for dessert either (how strange), but do try their desserts out when you come. They are most famous for their desserts. The kokigori is a recommendation. Comes in many flavours such as chocolate, strawberry, mango, peach, milo, red bean and many more.

After all, the service level today was better than my 1st visit. More due to the fact we weren't in during the peak hour. Service was prompt, but I wasn't satisfied that they always forget to refill my water and often wanting to pour green tea into my cup. Why? Because they don't bother to purchase separate cups for water, and uses the same cup as the rest drinking green tea. Such an annoyance.

We were having a budget to accommodate everyone. But for good taste and affordable food, this is one place to try.
