To me this place serves decent pratas but there are other places that serves better pratas.
The last time I went, I went with my colleagues. I ordered one plain prata and one one egg with onion prata. Both came fresh and hot. However I find the plain one tasted a bit plain. The egg with onion one slightly better. The egg and onion is well distributed within the prata itself.
Then I also order a banana prata to taste. It is good. Thin and crispy crust with slices of banana on it! A bit on the sweet side though.
It is open 24 hrs so it is also a good place to go and la kopi if got nothing to do at night.
Ice Cream Chefs ... located along East Coast Road... How could I not visit this place?! It's a quaint little joint located near where Jackie's Bowl used to be.
Initially I'd thought the ice cream would be made on the spot ... haha the bimbo I am...
The ice cream is displayed like normal. There are many flavours to choose from including special ones like Chocolate and Hershey's, Nutella Delight, Mrs Smith, etc. The ice cream is made from real ingredients... not just flavouring. There's real durian meat in the Durian Decadence flavour.
And The really special thing they'd do for you is CUSTOMISE your ice-cream. You can add Loacker's wafers, Oreos... into your ice-cream!! You can even mix flavours...
One large pint will cost $9.50. Two pints was nice for 3 people who loved ice cream.
I think it's worth a try. The quality is pretty good and it's great fun! The ambience is very casual with music from the radio in the background. You can choose to sit inside or outside... total seating area for about 20 people .
After a hard day’s work at my Conference, my Dear came over to meet me at Suntec. He insisted on trying New York New York, so we went there for dinner on the Full Moon night (yes, the mid-autumn festival night).
We were starving.
We ordered the Spicy Buffalo Wings. Crispy, not so spicy. Seasoning is so-so.
We saw the “fried mushroom” on the menu. As mushrooms lovers, we wont miss this dish. They use Golden mushrooms and Shitake. The batter is too thick. The Golden mushrooms are not suitable for frying as they are too tough. If you are not careful, you might be choke by a bunch of the fried Golden mushrooms.
My main dish is the chicken chop. The seasoning is not very appealing to me. The sauce is good though.
I like the penne creamy pasta with roast chicken that my Dear ordered. The sauce is thick, the taste is just like the Pasta de Waraku’s. I dun really like their chicken. Not nice. :p
My Dear & I decided to try out their branch at Thomson.
We cannot decide which appetizer to order, so we went for the Glutton’s Platter. We like the chipolata, chix wings and the wedges. The rest - onion rings and chix nuggets - CANNOT MAKE IT. Onion rings were too oily and the Chix nuggets too hard. The chipolata are chewy; the chix wings marinate is good - got the old primary school canteen chix wings taste; the wedges are fried just rite. The sauce is a mix of french onions with mayo. Nice!
Their salads are fresh and crunchy (as usual!). :)
I ordered Chicken Ballotine instead of my fren's recommendation of chicken cordon bleu. I like the chicken thigh roll with braised mushroom stuffing.
Dunno why my Dear like to order this Chicken baked rice. It’s not very nice. He said is not as good as the one he had at Purvis Street.
I went to Bugis Junction not too long ago and I noticed that the food court was gone! Well ok, the one at the basement at least.
The foodcourt was shifted up to the 2nd or 3rd level, taking over where The Edge used to be if I'm not wrong. So now there's this whole corner that's solely for the foodcourt. I thought the new interior of the foodcourt was quite nice. It gave it abit more class; a level above the normal foodcourts you see around. With the cushioned chairs it actually give me a slightly oriental feel, somehow. =x
However, the bad thing about the place was that there were too few seats. With the new tables and all, it took up even more space than usual. There was a lack of tables and even walking space.
On the other hand, the foodcourt now seems to have many more stalls! I even saw pepper lunch and such! It was quite interesting because, well you don't usually see a fastfood outlet in a foodcourt do you.
The overall feeling was that the quality of food was better and there was a larger variety of food. Worth a try at least(:
This is the place where my dog visits when something happen to him. Decided to give this place a try when it is quite near to my home.
The doctors and the nurses there are very professional, good and friendly. They are also very patient in answering all the silly questions that I might asked whenever I visit them as well.
They got quite a huge following, whenever I am there, theyre always seems to have a lot of ppl as well.
The one thing good about this outlet is that it isnn't that crowded, attributed by its location which is nt very accessible if you are taking public transport.
Therefore, you can expect a shorter queue as well as avoiding seeing or hearing the famous statement such as "Despite doubling our staff and increaing our production efficiency , we may nt be able to serve you promptly as desired, blar blar blar", by another donut franchise. Haha.
As for the donuts themselves, the flavours are more or less the same as that of Donut Factory. And as what Dilly had mentioned, they put their donuts out on display, thu making them cold and not so visually appealing as seeing it coming fresh out of the oven.
Overall, the donuts are just so-so and the only plus point is being the relatively shorter queue.
I know the owner of this cafe and decided to give it a try when me and my friends are nearby.
The placer is a bit small but cosy. The tables are tend to be a bit close together co not much or privacy.
The kitchen cum bar is open concept. So prepared to smell a lot of different food being cooked! Haa.....
The food there got salad, sandwiches etc and I was recommended to try Slow-Roasted Pulled Pork. It was good! The meat is tender, no fats and simply melts in my mouth. Hee.... If you cannot decided what you wanna to eat and got a group of frens, maybe you can try the platter of sandwiches, which come with soup as well.
Their desserts also got a lot, cakes to pudding. I loved their chocolate cake pudding. Not too sweet and not too bitter as well. Jz nice.
The place tend to attract more students as it is linked to the tution centre above the cafe.
Had my Primary school Class gathering here on a Friday Night.
Even though we booked a room for 10, they gave us a room of like 4-5? Cos initially 5 ppl went in first... So as the mins pass, more ppl turned up and we find it sooooo squeezy. So we asked the server to change our room. They say all the rooms are full ....... Have to wait till 1am before they can give us a bigger room
I was one of the ppl who were late. And i went to the 8th floor and asked for room 78. THe server brought me around the maze and FLUNG the door open. I stepped in, and stunned. I thought my Pri Sch frens had change so much! And their parents were also around?? Duh.... WRONG ROOM! BUT i know its room 78! Then the server flung open ANOTHER ROOM 78 *faintz* So many room 78? make me so paiseh!
THe room is squeezy... THe mics are corded, not wireless as what POlar Bear had said. Well, nvm, as long the mic is working. Maybe my room is small.
When 11pm came, they really came to offer us a bigger room, but some ppl had left already. So we remained as we were.
Well, we thought we can have the room till the KBOX closes, but who knows, at 1.30am they stopped our songs already!!! We haben had enough singing! I thought they only closes at 3-4am?
But overall, Servers are quite attentive and prompt to ask for order and clear the table though.
I am also a fan of TCC. Always would try to hang out there to chit chat with my frens whiel waiting for the movie to start.
It is a place that serves a wide variety of coffee and tea, both hot and cold. I loved their Jap red bean ice blend drink, and other special types of drink that they had mixed. Their coffee offer the widest choice to choose from. Usually I will jz go for their mocha. Hee....
Their food, both snacks and main, are great. I loved their wedges, fried mushrooms and many more. Main dish, I like their chicken chop together with a curry. Nice!
The deco in this outlet is good espcially inside the sofa areas. If you had not been there, give this place a try when you walk past it next time! Rememebr to ask for air con seats to try out their sofa ok! Hee....
