I really like this outlet... The facilities are so new and the crowd is so different though I find the lonely 2 lifts that bring me up to the floor is soo slow and seemed to take ages to get up to the top floor where this outlet of the california fitness resides.

Though I find it smaller than the other outlets, they do have 2 halls whereby 2 classes can be held concurrently. The treadmills and other cardio machines are aplenty and best of all.... while you do your thing on the treadmill during the weekends, no one will bother you. I really hate it... Look I'm panting, I'm trying to catch my breath while attempting to break my record on the 10Km run with sweat dripping and heavy footsteps thumping, one of the personal trainers come along and try to hitch up a casual chat with you with an opening questions like " HI... How are you doing?" All I could do.. is to ignore him and wonder if his brains grow on his biceps... However my previous few visits, I don't have this problem... everybody's just doing their own things...

I do not see many stretching machines or equipment available however they do have some free weights chairs for you to do casual training. They have these really interesting spaces that are near to the window just in front of the treadmill which I find crampy at first yet so interesting.. There are members who bring their mats and do stretching at this areas... You have the privacy as few will walk around that area, its crampy yet so safe and you get a beautiful city view from the glass windows.

I must also mention the changing room... Its NICE.... The lockers are new with benches for you to seat and ample hair dryers at a few location, so you need not all huddle at one dressing island table. They also do provide tissue, cotton buds and cotton squares. The shower area is fabulous.. I love the floor tiles as they are comfy not sandy and not slippery even when wet. The drainage system for the shower rooms are outside the curtain as such you don't see the water flowing while you shower and it looked very seemless. The sauna and steambath is also powerful, quiet and clean...

This is a fantastic outlet... if you haven't been... this is the one you must visit...

Today I'm gonna spill the beans of my little secret. I've discovered this great hair stylist in a small neighbourhood mall nearby clementi mrt station in this tiny mall called CITY VIBE... Level 2 just on the left of the escalator.

I could still recall my first visit years back... in search of a new hair-stylist since my last one migrated, I would pop by any hair salon i fancy and get myself a new hairdo or a cut and while i scrutinized the end results, i would only lament on my ill-choices when I get home and wait for nature to grow out of the hairdo before trying a new one. My first visit to De-Hair Art was after my lunch at a restaurant on the same floor and I met TOM...

He was friendly and cheerful while he showed me to a seat and provided me with a few magazines while i wait to have a hairwash. He asked me how I would like my hair to be done and i briefly described what I wanted in a vague way (usually I'm not quite so sure of how i wanted my hair to look like). He then tell me what he will do and how the after effects will look like. I love his description as I could see so much flare and passion... After the hair wash which make me feel light headed, because of the very good head massage, he then proceeded to cut my hair.... He was fast... I mean fast and precise and while we chit-chat I could see portions of my hair dropping to the ground. His actions was firm as he had a good idea of what he was doing and had the flare of an ARTIST. After the cut, my hair was blown dry and a little more trimming was done.. then WAH LAH........ my perfect hair do... He also gave me tips on how I could style my hair and the look was so unique to my style and character. He even inspired me on the clothes and styles I could do with my hair, provided me with info on future colours that suits my style, I was impressed.

Such flare we usually don't see in a neighbourhood salon... After my first cut with him... I've decided not to go anywhere else. The price.. I must say is reasonable for a salon and professional cut such as his. However, he is pretty popular, so be prepared to call up to make an appointment. He seldom entertains walk-ins because he is usually fully booked and he does commit his full attention and completes your hair before moving on to the next customer even if the waiting customers is complaining ( I really like this).

If you are visiting, be sure to look for TOM.. His other colleagues are pretty good in skill and are all friendly and pleasant, however, cutting/trimming/perming/coloring/ dressing up our hair is different for everyone. If you like a hairstylist with ideas, passion and flare that is both fast and creates a great style according to your personality, TOM is the guy to go for....

Located in the basement in the middle of nowhere :) This outlet is consistently packed with people during lunchtime, or sometime even when they just started which is about 10:30am.

Like all GongCha, the menu is the same and my favourite is non-other then the winter melon tea with creme. I love the sweetness and the slightly caramalized taste of the wintermelon tea coupled with a nice dolop of creme on top making it creamy and milky. Service is fast as usual and I love the fact that they put your order on a sticker onto each cup and the "How to Enjoy your tea" Instructional guide which provides simple instructions to better enjoy your cuppa tea. Though I find it expensive for a cup of tea, they made it seemed worth it as the presentation and the utensils used makes it hygiene and convenient.

Service is fast, this i must say and while i observed, they seldom gets the order wrong though its crowded with people, in the stall and out of the stall.... Its fast food kinda beverage which is perfect for this fast generation :)

I was walking around the fabulously large new wing of plaza singapura and found a farmiliar scent. Laline has opened its doors at the new wing of this iconic shopping mall. I was excited as I stepped into this classically designed outlet that somewhat makes one feel so clean.

The friendly staff offered me to try on some of their products and I liked it all. The scrubs especially were very moisturizing and the scent lingered for a long time. I love the way they generously offers you trial of almost all of their products and the retails were priced very reasonably. While reading the content, I spotted some really good stuffs such as chamomile extracts, olive oils, castor oils, etc.

I also liked the bath accessories available in the shop. They do have all sorts of bath brushes, bath related displays / storage and even bathrobes made in clean and beautiful designs. I appreciate their effort in bringing the wonderful range and bath culture of the middle east available for your own home indulgence.

    I bought a few products:
    1) Body Souffle Travel Size: S$13.90 in Ocean Ocean Flavour. I love the texture and the scent is extremely floral yet subtle and last for a long time

    2) Creme De La Creme 200ml whipped body cream: S$29.90 in Cocktail Tropical flavour. I love the fact that body cream can be whipped like whip cream. They do also have the shower foam in whip cream. The concept is great, the smells lingered on. Beautiful scent however its abit sticky when applied yet it is quickly absorbed later.

    3) Ocean Ocean Body Lotion 60ml travel size S$9.90: I love the ocean ocean scent and the body cream is much thinner and easier to apply on then the souffle. Great for after gym showers as the scent is mild yet long lasting.

    4) Vanilla Body Lotion 60ml travel size S$9.90: It smelt more of coconut, which is not something i really like. It absorbs quickly into the skin and is a pleasant and soothing lotion to be applied. Coconut is actually very nourishing, except for its sweet scent, I'm not such a fan of this one.

Great service, you really get to try almost everything before you buy and the scent is really LONGLASTING.... Just hop in for a free trial which is both stress free and even if you don't buy anything, somehow they made me feel that they are so happy to give me a free trial. 5Stars for their excellent service. Before I forgot.. I got a free rose too... Its the valentine's day period and they give away these beautiful roses.. So what are you waiting for... Pop by today :)

So my advice is to go for a free trial and then smell the lingering scent on your hand for the whole day then you will be like me... You can't help but pop by to buy something every other day. Especially when there is a good promo going on... :) Have fun :)

Frozen yogurt has never been so sexy and I really love the way Frolick markets it... This outlet is particularly lovely as it is located near to the side entrance of the shopping mall with a separate gazebo seat. You also get to seat round the ice-cream parlor and decorated as though a joint popped-up in the sunny beach of Australia. Very sexy, lovely and fun to have your cup of yogurt here, in the middle of nowhere. The wooden folding tables and chairs with pieces of ropes acting as boundaries made it really beachy....

Though the suggestive taglines and A-Cup, B-Cup, C-Cup yogurt sizes are pretty lame... I recognize their efforts to be sexy, cheesy and flirtatious. However I would expect more choices of yogurt... They only serve the natural flavor and one other fruity flavor which is much to my dismay. The frozen yogurt is pretty icy as I would love a more creamy one however the choice of toppings I should say are pretty healthy, they have oats, cereal, fruits such as blueberries, raspberry and other low G.I stuffs.

Also on certain days of the week, you get the one for one or 50% off or other perks.. and students with a valid student card can get a good deal over weekdays...

If you would love a short chat, over a lean dessert at a sexy place... this is the place to go.. Guaranteed to be seen.. especially good for a bunch of raving girls... Pssst... the noisy corridor can camouflage your gal's crazy high pitched laughters and secrets that are spoken way too loud.... :)

Looking for an educational and Hip place for youngsters to hangout? Oschool is the exact place for youths itching for a good, young and energetic workout. Dance away the blues and gain a healthy, strong and flexible body.

I love *Scape, its a place bustling with activities especially during the weekends and while i browse till the 4th level, I came across some kids hanging and dancing away at the open space and next to it.. I see a glass room (Class room) with more people doing synchronised dancing with the hippest pop song. The class looked fun and I think its a great pass time for youths. While i enquired, the friendly staff gave me a good introductory on the kind of course available and the cost... which i find it kinda affordable... and so.. I will pass on these good news to all the Yebber readers as well as my nieces and nephews.

    Fees:

The idea was to do a comparison between our long time favourite steak house, Morton's, and the relatively new entrant to Singapore's F&B scene, Ruth's Chris. And so one Saturday evening saw the both of us dropping by Ruth's Chris for dinner.

Located where Restaurant Bologna used to be at Marina Mandarin Singapore, the interior hasn't changed much since the days of Bologna - crisp table clothes coupled with leather backed seats and wooden panels adorned with art. The window seats offer you a view of a huge water feature wall and of course the warmth of natural sunlight (if you arrive early enough). This place is decidedly more "upclass" and stifling than Mortons, which I personally like for its casual, convivial atmosphere. To be fair, the place was pretty much empty save for another 2 tables besides ours. So that could be a contributing factor to the "over attention" from the wait staff.

Complimentary Bread - Just your regular soft baguette served warm, nothing like the onion loaf from Mortons. But still something decent to keep your hunger pangs at bay whilst you await your orders. Morton's 1, RC 0.

Sizzlin Blue Crab Cakes - A little dry on the outside but moist within, the crab cake was chock full of crab meat and topped with capsicum, which gave it a nice contrasting flavour and texture. Personally I thought it was nice just that the crab taste was a little lacking. I'll rate this as a tie with Morton's as I really liked the use of capsicum here. Morton's 1, RC 0.

Petit Filet Oscar Style - The petit filet was 210g, which was a decent size considering I ordered it "Oscar Style", which simply meant an addition of asparagus and a lump of crab cake smothered in Bearnaise sauce (all for a mere $15 extra). Now if only Morton's had such an option. That aside, the steak boasted tender, juicy meat that was a little crisp along the edges and well seasoned with salt. Very good! I'm gonna have to go with RC on this one as the filet marginally edges out the filet mignon from Morton's. And it definitely helps that RC has the option of an add on at a reasonable price. Morton's 1, RC 1.

Barbecued Shrimp - The BBQ shrimp were crunchy and decent sized but still a little smaller than what Morton's serves up (even after the downgrade in size). But what it lacks in size, it makes up in quantity (10 shrimps vs 6 from Morton's). The sauce reminds me of a creamy, garlicky concoction that has a mild burning sensation towards the end probably due to the copious amounts of garlic. In short, either you love it or you hate. And we loved it. But as Morton's Shrimp Alexander is vastly different, I am hard pressed to determine which dish has the edge. Morton's 1, RC 1.

Crème Brûlée - This is apparently a signature of Ruth's Chris. Though good, it wasn't anything I would go out of my way to order again. The vanilla bean custard base came across as creamily smooth whilst the caramel top was nicely and evenly torched. Portions are good for 2.

Warm Apple Crumb Tart - Huge, nicely sweet yet tart Granny Smith apple slices encrusted by a moist, fragrant tart shell and topped with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Only minor gripes I had was that the tart was a little too soft for my liking and that the apple slices were a little too big for comfort. Having said that, this was still an excellent dessert and we preferred this over Morton's Upside Down Apple Pie. Morton's 1, RC 2.

Portions are a bit smaller at Ruth's Chris but prices are slightly cheaper, as compared to Morton's. Even so, dinner for the both of us (without any drinks) cost to the tune of $285. Food wise, based on the dishes we tried, Ruth's Chris has a slight edge. However, factor in the more casual, laid back ambience and service of Morton's and its a tie. But maybe you think otherwise?

    See all my pictures here.

This is my secret place for all my shopping stress busting sprees.... Its a super economical place to buy all your toiletries, snacks and everyday household stuffs. Though they also carry a good range of casual clothing and footwear at super economical prices but nothing gives me the adrenaline rush more than toiletries especially travel sized ones.

Neatly stacked with a range of everyday brands and non-everyday brands; I love the well placed items which I find it easy to browse and sometimes we never know what interesting things and super great deals we could find here. I once found a bundle of 3 bottles of Theramed toothpaste gel-kind for the price of 1.5 bottles I buy in watsons.... The travel sized shampoos, hair conditioners (particularly hard to find) and shower gels which is usually sold for at least S$2, you could get them here for S$1.50 or less. Also you can find some interesting products from reputable brands here that you can never find in a regular pharmacy or other shopping malls.

So I say, do take time and browse, the stuffs are super economically priced and the huge variety of everyday items, there is bound to have something to be brought home with you. Shop is not exactly BIG but the merchandises are many and of a great value.... i quote again.... SUPER GOOD VALUE..... pop by and you know what i mean....

If you are looking for quality skin care products with an economical price, this is the place to go. I walked pass this shop a couple of days ago and was simply overwhelmed by the beautiful yet clean image. Smiling faces and warm cheerful "Hellos" greeted me as I entered this beautiful shop. The "whiteness" and refreshing scent of the shop is very appealing to me as it gives me a sense of purity, cleanliness and somehow serenity.....

While I browse through the enchanting bottles of body scrubs decked in various colours and flavours, the friendly staff actually offered me an experience of this product that is enriched with dead sea minerals over at this very posh sink. She gently rubbed some lavender flavoured body scrub on the back on my hand and explained to me the product, after-which she washed it off and pat my hand dry with some tissue. The experience was great and my hand did feel rather smooth and moisturized without the sticky feeling like most scrubs will do to me. The scent was gentle and does not give me a headache. You must be curious why i say that... because the scent of lavender usually gives me a headache and only from a few prestige branded products that I do not get a headache from smelling them and I'm glad.. this lavender body scrub isn't one of them. I liked the after-math feeling of my skin and decided to buy a large bottle at S$29.90. Be sure to also purchase a small little wooden scoop which pairs really well with the clean small square bottle. While I smelt the other various flavors, I've also decided on a smaller 150ml Cherry Blossom body scrub which gives a sweet floral scent. I mean.. a girl needs a new scent for every mood, every activity and everytime she dresses up. Just be glad I didn't buy the entire 7 flavours.

They do also carry matching flavors lotions, creams, shower creams, mist, the entire complete range of body care and 2 items i find extremely interesting. The foam whipped body soap is a pressured bottle of liquid body soap that creates a thick and rich foam when pressed that is of a light and creamy texture that cleans very well. The body souffle is also mighty fantastic. This gently scented body cream that is very moisturizing yet does not gives a sticky after application experience comes in a neat flat bottle for easy carry around and no spills. I love the texture as I find it rich and creamy yet easy to apply and I was surprised by the quick absorption of the smooth cream on my skin. My skin did feel supple after application, as such I also got myself a travel sized of 50ml one for S$13.90.

They also do carry various bath accessories including bath towels and bath robes... A true bath experience accessories, scents and products. Its like bringing the entire MiddleEastern Bath experience right to the comfort of your home.

The price is great, product is fabulous, exotic scents such as vanilla and sandalwood available and most importantly, the helpful staff generously puts you through trials after trials.... I love the attitude and indeed a feel pampered just by visiting the shop, not to mention the beautiful packaging which I will elaborate in the next review.. So stay tuned...

    400. Kbox Karaoke (*scape)
       15 Jan 2013 at 9:53 am
    Category: Karaoke
    Leenie Pigs Leenie Pigs says:

We visited KBox during the first week of the new year as we would like to start of this year with an out-blast of *non-coordinated* *heartfelt* *ear-bleeding* emotional declaration of love songs, kpop, jpop and Gong Xi Fa Chai Songs.... Yes.. Kbox do carry a wide variety of songs of various genre, language and artist from the international scene. What is most appalling is the songs our local Singaporean artiste sings. Matter of fact, if not for the interactive and easy to use Kbox computer song selection system, I would not have known that our local tv-serial stars did singing and you could sing their songs..

The outlet is at the second level of *Scape, if not the top level. It looked like a black/red hole with a counter. I am thrilled with the Kbox logo stuck to the ceiling, I thought its interesting but seriously, how many people do raise their heads to notice whats on the ceiling? Its not a big place and the rooms are small... We are sadly given this really small and oblong room to house 4 of us and the air-conditioning is really WARM.... Matter of fact, when we open the door to the outside we could feel the rush of cool wind into our room... While we kindly notified the staff, we were told that nothing could be done. While our group increased in size, we asked to change a room and the kind staff gladly agreed to let us, however this came with a PRICE.... which i will tell you later... The next room though slightly larger is also WARM... shortly as we inquired further.. the two rooms are sharing the same compressor unit... *FAINT*... yes.. laterally feeling faint...

Though the service is pretty friendly and the snacks are yummy, not all the gadgets in the room is working properly. I guess its about time for a total maintainance of the equipment must be made. Except for the song selection computer system, i should say the *applause / jeer / clap* functions which is very fun to me is NOT WORKING.... the wall control system is also not working and the microphone sometimes goes out of connection....

Now the price we are talking about... they allowed changing of rooms only when we had more people and just an additional of 2 person up us to the next catagory in which instead of just having to pay for the additional 2 person, we had also to pay for 2 additional snacks. Now the price of the snacks is the same as the price of 1pax... so its 4 pax in total. Not forgetting the room rental price and other misc. So it turned out to be pretty expensive and not the small promo amount they offer you. With the many separate charges here and there, i think its wiser to inquire on the phone or online first before you actually pop by.

This is a really small outlet and the rooms are small with no attached toilets. So if you are coming to this outlet, the sauna rooms are 503 and 505....
