I personally bought from Snowlights on 3 occasions. 1 of them was as a xmas gift to my friend (Fairy of the willow). The other 2 for my own, including one which is of a customised necklace.

The owner is very sweet and friendly, with her pieces very hot-selling! I personally had her to customise some pieces like changing of crystal colours and she agreed! That is of course depending on the availability of materials. She also gave me pouches for the necklaces, which is perfect as a gift!

Kudos to her service and handmade pieces! Definitely worth the price!

My favourite is my latest customised necklace! Will definitely buy from her again! :)

Have been to Bliss with my friends/colleagues pretty often since its near my workplace. Food is generally standard, with my favourite being the Seafood spaghetti in cream sauce. We normally would order the set which comes with either salad or soup, with a drink dessert.

It was until my last trip there, am i very disappointed with their service. I was not feeling well that day and suggested Bliss as i was craving for cream spaghetti. My friends agreed and we went on to our order. At first the waiter was kind of blur, it's obvious he is new. He took the note pad out but did not write anything onto it. Luckily he tried repeating our orders and we had to remind him who's taking what. We were confused when one takes out a notepad but don't take down the order and try to recall and it wasn't 100% successful...

Anyway we waited. The soup and drink finally came after 15mins, which was longer than usual. By then, we were all starving. My guy friend's order came after another 10mins with us chasing orders. Both mine and my gf's came after another 15 and 20mins later. We chased orders for like 4times at least. And had to endure that 35-40mins, with a cranky unwell me. The last sentence i shot the waiter was, have you caught my chicken and her beef? By then, 2 out of 3 are famished. The meatball spaghetti wasn't fantastic, even if you travel to Ikea and back, it wouldn't take as long. My chicken chunk cream spaghetti was ok only.

But on the contrary, their bill came within mins! I was so upset, i almost wanted to tell the manager off. No discounts, no nothing. Utter disappointment.

My last visit is definitely of below average rating, with my past experiences being average.

Went shopping on eve of Valentine's Day, was packed with people, as they are having Sales.

Alot of ladies, including myself, was on the Men's department looking for wallets/pouch/belts.

Although it's very crowded but the sales ladies at Braun Buffel counter was very patience and helpful.

I was browsing at key pouch and was showed a few pieces. I thought to go round looking at other brands, and left the counter.

Eventually I walked back and the lady who served me minutes ago, was busy serving others. But when she sees me, she quickly asked her other available colleauges to show me key pouch. I was surprised, she's very good at customer service.

The discounted pieces all sold out except for display piece, which I dont want. Eventually, I bought a New Arrival without discount.

Party because I want it also because Im given good customer service.

Thumbs up for the ladies at Braun Buffel counter in BHG :)

Went early to have dinner as today's Valentine's Day.

Hubby wants to eat at Fish&CO, thou we were the 1st at the queue, we waited for almost 10min coz of not enough staff and tables not cleared in time.

When we got our seats, immediately we ordered their Valentine's menu, which only for today, no other menu was available today.

The Menu for 2 which includes any 2soup/salad, 2maincourse or 1 seafood platter to share and 1drink for $49.90 .

Our soup came less then 5minutes but not hot and it took them another 5minutes for our drinks. After 25minutes, our maincourse came. Extremely long wait, usual will take only 10-15minutes for main course to be served.

While waiting for our main course, a few issues happened. A waiter came and served us soup, Hot with smoke, I told him we had our soup, he went back to the kitchen. Then another waitress came with 2drinks, looking at our ice tea on the table, she still asked if we ordered another round of drinks.

I wondered is it because of the crowd today, that's why they are so confused.

After we foot our bill, we wasn't given any mint like usual days.

Probably it's crowded and busy, they cut the giving mint routine.

Anyway, maybe the confusion it's only for today, hopefully :)

The first time we saw this stall, we thought that maybe we should try it out as my mother and I are always trying out the 牛肉河粉 (Beef Hor Fun) stalls we can find and sadly though, it always disappoint. But 安记 is different in a way that their beef is generous and chunky, and for SGD4.00 I would absolutely say it is worth my money. But be warned that this stall are opened in the morning but closed from afternoon time (roughly from 1pm onwards) and only opened again in the evening to cater to the dinner crowd. But still, it is definitely worth the wait for the 牛肉河粉 (Beef Hor Fun)。 By the way, try their 鱼片生面 (Fish Slice Crispy Noodle) as it's also delicious and their sliced fish is very fresh.

    Price:

    牛肉河粉 @ SGD4 / SGD5 / SGD8 / SGD12 / SGD15
    鱼片生面 @ SGD4 / SGD5 / SGD8 / SGD12 / SGD15

Have walked past a few times but never walked in to try.

After seeing long queues everywhere even food court, last evening, finally I walked in as there are no queues and ordered their Zhao Pai Mi Xian.

The service was very fast from seated down to take orders to being served was merely 10minutes.

I was abit excited about the noodles as it seems alot of different dishes are put into it. But finally when everything thrown in, it was just another ordinary bowl of noodles, except the mi xian, instead of the very thin types, it was more like laska noodles.

I didn't quite fancy it thou, couldn't finish, the noodles very filling with a drink to go with, I was like bloated by the time I leave the restaurant. :(

Step in to take a look at their Valentine's Day jewellery.

Was served by a guy named Exxx, he showed me a few pieces and when I tell him my budget he showed me another few other pieces.

I chose 2 out of the rest to decide and it's somehow over my budget I asked if he could give me some discount. He said "Good stuff dont need discount, so what, i give u 10% members' discount, on V Day's itself, u might see 50% discount banner. Good stuff is at this price, which is quite reaonsable, anything lower then this then it's not the nice ones"

I was taken aback by his statement and find him very unapproachable and not keen in making his sales.

Even I fancy the jewellery and it's above my budget, I will not buy from him.

Will not consider walking into this outlet :(

I love roasted duck. I really do. When it comes to their other half, braised duck, its a different story all together. Roasted ducks are really good, and i always craved for them, but when it comes to braise duck, i didn’t have them for very long already! It’s case when it comes to choosing between roasted and braised duck, i’ll definitely go for the former.

Since there aren’t any roasted duck stalls at the Whampoa market that caught my attention, for once i decided to have the braised duck instead. And i’m fairly surprised. The yam rice was very fragrant, and i thought that the portion was quite generous, althought i’ll never say no to more duck meat.

You know whenever we brought half a duck home, my mom will always use the leftover meats and the bones to cook with porridge, and its fantastic! I didn’t really try duck porridge outside before, so the next time, i’m probably going for duck porridge instead of rice. There’s always a first time for everything.

Its impossible to roast your own duck at home, but with some good recipe, braising duck is certainly do-able. I tried many home-made braised duck before, and i must say most of them are better than the ones i’ve outside. While it could also be due to the possibility that there’s no limit to how much duck meat i can eat. Well i’m always on the lookout for roasted duck that i really have no idea about which places serve excellent braised ducks, let me know won’t you?

If you remember, I wrote on the Joo Chiat wanton mee saga in Whampoa market before, with the two stalls claiming that they are the original from Joo Chiat. This time round, I saw this Long Ji stall which is on the outside row of the market. Since i’ve both the Joo Chiat stalls (middle row of market), I decided to give this a try.

The wanton mee was disappointing. The pictures looked nice yes, this was my first time testing out my new macro lens back then, so I had this way back in November! The two key factors in a good wanton, the springy noodle, and the good char siew were sorely missing. To be frank, the wanton mee was so mediocre that I couldn’t really remember how it tasted like.

There’s another wanton mee stall in the market if i’m not mistaken, will try that the next time! I think you’ll be better off trying either one of the Joo Chiat stalls than Long Ji’s. Well, i may be wrong, since it’s my personal preference, if you’ve try this one before let me hear from you!

Rojak is a very special type of food, and certainly warrants a place as one of Singapore local food, alongside chicken rice, white pepper crab, laksa and the rest. Just like how our local culture, where the different religion and races mixed in harmony with each other, the perfect mixture between the different ingredients in a rojak brings about the perfect balance. Uniquely Singapore.

Hoover Rojak’s my personal favourite place for rojak in Singapore. Well if i may say so, i’ll consider it as one of the best i tried so far, not that i tried a lot, but i’ve the other famous Brothers rojak at Clementi and wasn’t too impressed with it. Hoover’s rendition always uses fresh and juicy fruits, with the crispy you tiao. But that’s not the reason why Hoover rojak is so good. The key lies in their sauce, there’s a slightly sourish tang which other rojaks don’t have, and that’s the beauty of a simple lime.

’ll eat Hoover rojak whenever i visited Whampoo market, countless times to the extent that i always forgot that they do not open on Tuesday, and i made three fruitless visits so far. Well to visit Whampoo market without trying Hoover, please don’t tell anybody that you been there.
