As you probably know, Goodwood's Deli often has the "Durian Fair" Period that lasts for arounf 7 months? So I was curious and decided to go and try it out, being a self-professed durian fanatic.
I must say the ambience as spectacular.. And the pianist is awesome :D.
I tried the durian swiss roll... Totally good. The durian taste was too mild for me, though. Young kids would probably love it. I also tried the chocolate cake. I frogot what the actual name was. For a small loaf, it costs 10 dolllars. Really affordable. I like the chocolate powder on top.
I wanna get some more! (:
I went to Shokudo to meet friends there and I must say that the food there is affodable and good enough for me.
Im not too sure about what the name of my main course was, but it was Unagi with Rice. It cost me less than $5, which is around the same price as a normal Food court, except that it tasted better.
For dessert, I had waffles. It was better than Venezia's or Gelare's, to my surprise. It was aromatic and crispy, and not too sweet, something that, in my opinion, is an achievement. I really liked the ambience here and I don't mind coming back for more again. I heard that the Cineleisure outlet had good Spaghetti!
I have heard of Uniqlo long before it opened in Singapore. I mean, who hasn't?
After reading about it's new store at Tampines in newspapers and magazines, I decided to check it out 2 days after it the store opened.
Man, was it packed! I had to queue for at least 15 minutes before getting in. I was greeted by a friendly staff member at the entrance.
Overall, I think this shop has probably the most well-mannered staff I've seen. They are cheerful and friendly, making my experience here wonderful.
Not only that, the clothing sold here has a high standard of quality at an afforable price... Basics were going at $9.90!
Also the denim for Men from Japan was sold at $69, which was probably the best deal around.
I like the quality of the cotton basics... It's soft and compfortable.
Also, Uniqlo has free alteration service for items above a certain price ($50 i think.) So i sent my new jeans for alteration.
I can't wait to go back again!
smudgersaid: i can't wait to visit uniqlo, haven had the chance to pass by uniqlo outlet in hk or tw. finally opened in sg. yeah! 18 Apr 2009 at 5:17 pm

I really like the smell of the waffles when I passed by Gelare outlets.
It is as good as the smell from Famous Amos Cookie Stores.
So one Tuesday, out of pure curiosity, I decided to try the waffles.. I was pleasently surprised to learn that on Tuesdays, Gelare has half price offers. So, unsurprisingly, it was quite packed.
I really do not regret this decision.
The waffle was warm and crispy... and it smelt super good!
I ordered it with Chocolate sauce, being a chocoholic.. but I didnt realised that it would cost a bit more. Disappointed.
Also, it does not provide any water, unlike it's competitors like Venezia. This is not a good idea. I was quite shocked to see that.
Overall, the service was more or less okay, but the EXPERIENCE there was not too good....
SMRT buses provides me my almost-daily transport to school and back, shopping, going out for meals or to meet other people.
However, this by no means implies that their service is good.
I was once on my way to Orchard from an unfamiliar location...
As I wanted to stop at the Heeren, not at John Little, I aske the driver if the bus stopped at Heeren. He quietly nodded his head.
But the thing was, the but didnt stop at Heeren.
This happened to me at least twice.
It is really frustrating!
Also, the new buses with the leanbacks for wheelchair bound people suck.
I mean, of course you wanna help the disabled live life more compfortably, but now ther's sooooo little sitting space!
And it has a weird smell too.
SIGH.
Oh well.
