I was always curious about the long queues outside Astons. One day, my curiosities beat me to it and I joined the never-ending queue. It was not a long wait to be seated, but waiting for the food was longer than I expected. I guess it was because of the lunch time hour, but I seriously feel that they were short of staff.
It took quite some time to get hold of the waiter to take down your order. Then, you had to wait even longer for the food to come. All in all, it was quite a wait before the food came.
The food was not bad though, and filling. And it is pretty cheap compared to other western food restaurants. But if I had to wait that long, I think I will go somewhere else..
I am a huge fan of IKEA, so obviously I can spend hours and hours there. Thus, I'm very grateful for a place where I can rest and relax before continuing again. Also, it's a great place to catch up with friends.
My favourites are the swedish meatballs and fried chicken wings. I never get tired of them!! I also love the free flow of drinks. You also must try their desserts. They are simply mouth-watering...
I'm definitely a huge fan of the Tampines store as I no longer have to travel half the island's length just to get to IKEA.
Well, it must be good because every time I am there, I have to wait for seats.. oh, bother
If I had to choose one cinema, I would definitely pick the cathay! The chairs are big and spacious with lots of leg room. Plus, the theatres are much cleaner. This makes the whole movie experience not only better but worthwhile. Why would I pay to see a movie if it is worse than watching it at home?
I love the long screen too (when they open the curtains at the start of the movie!)
And their UOB card deals are all the more a bonus! It makes their tickets one of the lowest around!
The other thing I like about it is that I dont have to queue for very long at the ticket counter compared to other cinemas.
Sometimes I wonder if the rise in bus fares was due to the installation of TV Mobile. About 1/2 of the buses I take either does not have one of those tvs installed, or they are installed but not on/working. So what's the use?
Many of the shows are on repeat and when you take the bus almost the same time every day, it means that in one week, you could probably have watched the same show 5 times! And worst, it's mostly channel 8 shows. Yes, I get that local films/series need exposure, but don't you think it's a little too much? And because they are in chinese, I have to read the subtitles when is painfully difficult on a small screen which is most of the time blocked by the person in front. So, I give up trying even to get a glimpse!
If this was indeed for entertainment, I think the only entertainment was just for laughs - which I enjoyed many a times. And I did like the olympics season when I could catch my favourite sports in action while on the road (if I'm lucky, that is!) But there were still lots of repeats :(
krisandrosaid: 'Just for Laughs' are also my favorite on Tv Mobile! Always fun to also see people trying hard to not laugh aloud. :D 09 Jan 2009 at 12:23 pm

I was excited when the Singapore Flyer opened and could not wait to get on it. I finally got tickets to watch the National Day Parade 2008 preview from the Flyer. It was spectacular especially when you see helicopters that close and have a birdeye's view of the parade. I'm glad I also got to see the fireworks from the top! It was a different take and definitely worth it!!
If not for the National Day Parade, I would not think it would have enjoyed it that much as I realised on the 2nd part of the ride (coming down). There was pretty much nothing to see except construction works down below and the golf course which can be seen from the bridge. I think it would be better once the IR is in place with much vibrance :)
While I did like the fact that they took your photo on the capsule (which was very difficult to take with foggy windows), I did not fancy the price - 15$ per photo is a little too hard on the wallet. But for that experience a nice souvenir won't do much harm!
