Same TV programmes that have already been shown on normal TV is shown over and over again, day after day...
Assuming you actually want to watch the the shows, it's impossible... The tv is so tiny, and can only be seen clearly by about 3 or 4 rows of seats, otherwise you would be too near to see or too far away, or catch the reflection from the sun, or blocked by a tall person... The speakers are far too soft... The screen keeps freezing up, and the sound quality is horrible.
Above all, NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO WATCH! Why can't they put all the TVs and speakers in one half of the bus, so that they can watch better, and the other half of the bus can ride in peace...
(Rating says 1 star means Please Avoid!, but you can't avoid it can you?)
Finally, after living in Pasir Ris for eighteen years, there's finally a cinema in town without having to go all the way to Tampines... But I still prefer Shaw at Century Square.
However, this cinema is probably one of the smaller ones among cathay. Seats are slightly uncomfortable. But the biggest sticking point is that the snacks counter is together with the ticketing counter, so if you had booked your tickets in advance to beat the queue, you still have to queue with everyone else to get your drinks.
Cathay Cineplex has to be the best cinema ever! Nice, big and comfortable, lots of leg room... Seats are like sofa armchairs. And somehow I feel that the whole movie experience is so much better.
Oh yes, and they have much better snacks than other cineplexes.
However, I usually ignore the shops in the rest of the building. Never really saw any point in going to any of them. Sell all sorts of weird stuff. But I suppose if you're there a bit early for a movie, you can walk around just to kill some time.
