Tried their Beef Shepherd's Pie over a gathering at my sis's place few days back.
Was quite disappointed with their service because they delivered a Beef Shepherd's Pie instead of the chicken one that we ordered and apparently, they said they were busy over the festive season and asked if we could take the beef one instead.
Apart from that, I must say that the pie was great. It is packed in the normal cardboard box and the pie was in this aluminium tray. It was piping hot and the fillings were generous and great. We could taste three layers of the shepherd pie namely the meat fillings, cheese, followed by the potato as the top layer.
It is $20 for one shepherds pie and I think the price is decent, taste is good. Woth giving a try!!
My friends and I went to Botak Jones not long ago.
The location was quite bad, in the sense that it was quite far off the Interchange (you probably need 15 mins to get thr from the Interchange). It's a warm afternoon and after walking under the hot sun, seeing the non-air-conditioned coffeeshop is actually quite a turn off.
We had fish and chips and all of us agreed that Botak Jones is over-rated. The dish tasted like usual ones and there isn't a special reason why we have to come all the way to this coffeeshop to eat their Fish and Chips. The servings were big though and we think it's worth it for the price.
On the whole, all of us think that though the price was ok, we could have a better meal as Aston Katong (because of the ambience) / Aston Bedok (because it's nearer to the Interchange) instead.
Princess is a good place but budget movie-goers for it provides a much more affordable ticket prices than the usual cinemas.
To bust the myth of people who often say that princess is gross and bugs roam around the seats etc... I tried catching a movie some time ago at princess and I must say it was a good experience for me because firstly, there is no queue and you can even get to choose some good seats. secondly, it's as though you own a private cinema because during off-peak periods, there aint many people around. Lastly, there is definitely no bugs as what people had proclaimed.
It is more run-down as compared to cinemas like GV, but if you aint picky and merely wants to catch a movie badly but do not want to queue, princess is the choice!
Pontian Wanton noodles is authentic and I didn't regret to eat this dish even though there is a wide array of dishes sold at Bedok Hawker Centre.
It is by far one of the best wanton noodles I have ever eaten. Pontian has definitely managed to live up to its name for its rich history and also for its famous noodles that offers a QQ texture and we often avoid noodles take away for it will turn soggy after some time, but Pontian noodles can stand the test of time!
The soup is rich in taste and the wanton has adequate fillings.
