Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City has a really wide range and variety of books available ranging from all genre like self improvement, geography, horoscope to languages, travel etc and you will most probably be able to find the books you want or need here. They even sell stuffs like tarot cards here! The sections are neatly organised and you will be able to search and find the genres you want with ease. The shop is spacious as well, so the books and shelves are not crammed together, making it more comfortable to browse and find the book you are looking for.

But one thing about Kinokuniya is that I find the books here quite expensive compared to other bookstores.

I quite like the Burger King here as it is always not that crowded compared to Macdonalds especially during weekdays and I used to like studying at the Burger King here since it is not that crowded and they play background music. I think students still study here now and the management don't seem to have any problem with that since the outlet is not that crowded and it doesn't cause any problem for them. Food and service is alright here. Trays are cleared after people leave and food are served promptly. Overall, it is quite a good place if you need somewhere that is not that noisy so that you can chill or study.

Popular Book Store in Tiong Bahru has been around for ages and even though the store is not as big as other Popular Book Store like the one at Bras Basah, it serves it purpose as you can find those essential stationaries or items which you need. For textbooks and books, I won't recommend this Popular branch as the selection is quite limited and it's better to buy textbooks at bigger Popular Book Store where you can find most of the textbooks you needed. Fiction, non-fiction or reference books selections are really limited as well, so unless it's a really popular book it'd be better off searching for the book somewhere else.
The Popular Book Store is quite convenient for people staying at this neighbourhood since they'll be able to find the necessary stuffs they need here, but for books and references, other bigger bookstore may be a better choice.

I had Chemistry Tution at Stalford Learning Centre when I was in Secondary School which was about 6 years ago. I'm not sure if the teacher who taught me is still at the Tution centre, but his lessons are not bad and his notes are really useful for us when we were preparing for the O Levels since it covers almost everything which we needed to know and all the important stuffs we needed to learn for our O's. The tuition centre was not exactly very big and the class size is not that big either, but that can be good in a way. I think the most important thing about Tuition is the teacher, so as long as you find a good teacher, it'll serve the purpose of having tuition...

Eighteen Chefs is quite considered quite new as it just moved in to Tiong Bahru after Sakae SuShi moved to another part of Tiong Bahru Plaza (outside). I was with a group of friends when I first ate at Eighteen Chefs and the food there is not bad. A very special dish caught my attention immediately when I looked at the menu (it is not exactly in the menu and I think it could be part of the Chef's special. Not sure whether they have it at other outlets). I can't remember what was the exact name of the dish, but it was Fish and Chips with Sarsi. The fish is fried/battered in Sarsi, and I was really surprised when I first tasted it since the Sarsi taste was much stronger than I had expected and it turned out quite well. My friends tried it too and thought it taste nice. So the food was quite good. Can't say much about the service since most of it was self service (We can get plain water, sauces, spoon etc ourselves at the counter).
