I've been with SingTel Broadband for a couple of years but was recently tempted by the Mio plan. On one plan (and that means just one bill), I get broadband, home phone and mobile. It looks like I will save over $100 a month and I got a slim, bronze Nokia 650 classic for free! But Yebbers beware, if you sign up and agree to your mobile phone number with another company being ported to SingTel, your existing mobile number may be cut off without warning. Here's what happened to me: When I signed up in the AMK Hello shop, I was told that calls to my existing number would be forwarded to my new number for two weeks and M1 (whom I had been with for seven years) would contact me about terminating the service. The change to Mio coincided with a change of apartment and I was too busy to tell everyone that I had a new number, so I just waited for the call from M1. Right on time, two weeks after I had started with Mio, my M1 phone died, the Sim card had been disabled but had received no call ... [Read more] |
