Cafe cartel. It is seriously a cartel, when it comes to prices, cos its super expensive! i just don't like the thought of paying so much for something which tastes better elsewhere, with similar pricing.
Coming to its service, i just have to applaud them for being so bad at its service. i went here once, and i have to call them up so many times to ask if my food was ready, as it is taking super long to be cooked.
I also do not like the idea of squeezing, but today, i have to squeeze with a dozen other people. I am paying restaurant pricing, and thus i expect better service and better ambiance, but here, the restaurant seems abit too crowded. I know they want to earn as much as they can, but they also cannot compromise the attitude towards a customer right?
The only redeeming factor is the food. The food is pricey, but it has at least some standard, although i can go elsewhere and get similar food which is better. The pasta here tastes nice too! had linguini that time i went here.
Overall, cafe cartel certainly live up to its name of being a cartel. Pricey and only meeting expectations food, but not exceeding expectations. If not for my gathering with my friends, i will never step into cafe cartel. Be thankful that i went once.
Muffysaid: Agreed. So far, it seem that only Marina outlet seem to be the worst branch. Their Siglap & Tampines outlet were much better 17 Mar 2009 at 12:22 am

The paus there is seriously nice! but one must watch his or her wallet, as they are quite expensive.
If you are going down to have a try at its paus, i should recommend its char siew pau and its siew mai. They are really great! if you are those big eaters, maybe you should try the luo mai kai and fan choy. they are irresistible!
One thing you should really take note is that do not buy it at the end of the day. I bought it like a couple of times, but it does not turn out as well as it is.
Overall, it is a shop that is really worth its food! if you compare it with the restaurants, of course!
Comfort taxis. Quite a service they have. I seldom take taxis, but most of the taxis i took is comfort cabs. it is not a surprise though, since comfort cabs are having most of the market share.
The service of comfort cabs are quite good, apart from some cabbies being rude to the passengers. There was once i took a comfort cab. The cabby is quite polite, and he talked to me about his life as a taxi driver while driving. Although it might be quite dangerous to multi task while on the road, having that 20 extra years of experience and driving at a smooth pace is not to be reckoned with.
All in all, comfort taxis are quite comfy after all. Just hope that u are lucky and not get a errant or rude one! black sheeps are all but few around, but they are still available out there.
Vivocity is a really nice place for a couple to go to. It seems as though the place is created specially for couples, as they have a platform at the third storey for couples to say their sweet nothings at one another while facing the sea, which is currently marred by the construction of the Integrated Resort.
Vivocity is also a very good place for families to shop around as well, as there is a hypermart and also a super huge bookstore called Page One. both are very good places for families to shop together, and to foster better family bonding too.
vivocity is also a very good place for friends to hang out too. apart from having a tip top almost brand new cinema where friends can watch a movie together, they can also hang out and chit chat up at the amphitheatre on the third floor.
Vivocity is a very nice place for persons of all ages to hang out. If u got bored, u can also walk across to Harbourfront centre to shop too! what a shopping paradise!
Rating: 4/5 (nice place! 1 star less so that they can continue providing better service and not be complacent about it!)
Candy empire. It reminds me of the sweet shop just across the streets where i live in the past. This shop sells literally candy, and of course a girl's most favourite treat, chocolates!
All those delectable treats are quite expensive though, but some of them are only sold there, such as the jelly beans from the jelly bean factory. I will never fail to buy one bottle every time i went to vivocity.
The chocolates there are quite nice too! and there is a whole range of variety present in the shop. you can find anything from common chocs you can find in the supermarket to gourmet chocs that costs 20 over dollars for a packet of it. trust me, its expensive, but worth it if you are a chocolate fan.
Overall, Candy empire is a shop you can go to with the average service of a typical shop. If you want delectable treats, candy empire is quite a nice place to go to. Warning: do not get addicted to buying too much chocs and sweets. your wallet will decay faster then your teeth do. trust me.
Rating: 4/5 (a nice place to go to, if you know wad to buy and wad not to buy)
