This outlet is larger than other Mr Bean outlets, and even have a counter specially for its Soya Bean Ice-Cream.
I like its plain Soya Bean Milk @ only about $1. I have never tried all its other favours but I think it is really enterprising and creative to come up a whole range of varieties. But just its plain favored one is nice enough, I drink it almost everyday when I am in the vicinity, and I never tire of it. You have a choice of warm or chilled.
As for its Red Bean Pancake, the filling is nice neither too cloy nor too bland, but I don't really like its pancake. Either the texture or taste doesn't appeal to my palate.
I will definitely continue to patron Mr Bean due to the healthy benefits of Soya Bean and its wonderful taste.
A Spanish label selling Ladies apparel, handbags and accessories. Its collections emphasise the use of bright colours and elaborate, fanciful designs. Hence it is more suited for those in their teens and twenties. It designs are causal but stylish. Neither formal nor meant for office wear.
It is just next to Naf Naf in Takashimaya. It has another branch in Vivio City.
Although many girls will likely fall in love with this label, but its prices are not cheap. A dress could cost $200 odd. A skirt could set you back by $175. However those looking for a steal could try their luck during the sale where they are 30-50% discount. Do come early as small sizes are sold fast.
This is a French label selling ladies wear. Its collection are stylish, feminine and causal suitable for young ladies from mid- teen to the twenties. Prices start from around over $100 for a dress.
It occupies a space in Takashimaya Ladies Section, near the entry. So it is really easily located. Besides this branch, it also has another outlet in Raffles City.
The designs are pretty but I think the label might be slightly over-priced. Some of the designs might be overly revealing too, like a see-through silk dress. And its dresses might not have an inside linen.
But on the whole, I think the designs are stylish and conservative enough to be well-received by Singaporeans.
This is a large outlet like many of its other branches, but I hate the seatings at the open atrium, where shoppers at the above floor could watch you dine. However there are quite alot of seats inside the restaurant too. Unfortunately, there are also the perpetual stream of diners during peak hours, so you could be assigned a table in the open atrium.
That day, besides having my favourite Xiaolongbao & fried rice, I decide to try its Deep-fried prawn dumpling at $6.50 for 6 pieces. It also have deep-fried wanton at $6, I think this is slightly cheaper than at Crystal? The deep-fried dumpling comes with sweet sauce, and is crispy, non-greasy and nice. In short, I won't mind trying it again.
I also like the fact that the waiters are always walking around with the teapot to fill any empty glasses.
When it comes to payment, they do not accept Nets.
Crystal Jade is really becoming more materialistic, even a glass of water costs $0.30 now. Its food portion seem to have become smaller too even if the price remains the same.
It is also totally lacking in ambience & decor. Throughout the years it never seemed to have revamped the place. The plates used are always the same old white ones. In terms of decor, I think the Soup Restaurant & Din Tai Feng certainly surpass Crystal.
But yet despite all its drawbacks, it is the only Chinese restaurant chain that offers Hong Kong Dim Sum & Chinese dishes, that most will find palatable. Its pricing is fairly reasonable for a restaurant, its causal atmosphere too, maybe an advantage for those preferring causal Chinese dining.
Recently its menu has undergone some revamp, apart from its usual dishes, it has also come up with set meals for 2 or more people. Also its also has combo sets where 2 dishes are sold together for a lower total price. For example it now has Peking Duck along with another dish, going at about $50. Furthermore there are also some new dishes like sliced ablone with mushroom & etc, cooked in a claypot, sold at $18.

Its Dim Sum are also worth trying.
