Giordano a fashion store that offers causal women & men clothings like jeans, t-shirts,shirts, jackets, socks, etc. A pair of jeans could set you back by $50-60. But as most of the clothings are made for Asian, you should find a good & comfortable fit. Unfortuantely, I notice of late, the dyes of many of its t-shirts run in the 1st wash. I wonder what sort of dyes are being used.
It offers good service, most of its staff are well-treated & will greet you or smile at you the moment you step into the shop.
Usually it has some form of sale, for eg, 3 t-shirts at 15. Joining as a member also entitle one to further discount.
The largest shopping centre in Orchard Road. Home to Takashimaya Dept Store, the only outlet in S'pore.
It offers many upmarket brands from Gucci, Prada, LV, Christian Dior, Burberry, Larry Jewellery, etc. This is one place you must visit if you are into branded goods. The other is Paragon.
The less well heeled could also find mid-range brand like Zara, Guess, G2000, Giordano,British India, etc.
It also has a wide range of eateries like Crystal Jade, to small eating booths in the Takashimaya FoodCourt in B2.
Breadtalk has a chain of outlets throughout the island, and is probably the only bread & pastry store with such as a strong presence. It is a great rival of Crystal Jade Bread, as both sells almost sells the type of bread, pastry and cakes at competitive prices, from $1 onwards
Breadtalk unique aspect is its open- concept kitchen, and innovative names of items. My favorite is the red-bean bun, honey cakes, and sausages buns.
In the past, it has a coconut bun called White House but unfortunately it is discontinued.
For the selective consumers, the outlet at Paragon offers healthier, classy choices. Eg Green tea bun
The self -service, fast-food restaurant, with limited seats has various branches in major shopping centres.
It sells a variety of Japanese style satay, barbecued on the spot, including chicken skin, chicken balls, eel, pork with asparagus, etc. Most are dipped into a sweet-tasting sauce. My favourite is the pork with asparagus. Prices from about $1.00 -2.80.
Service is fast, except during peak-hours when you may have to queue. Each stick is packed in silver-foiled paper bag so no fear of sauce leaking. Rice can be bought separately and comes in a paper box.
I also like the blend of Jasmine tea with rose buds. Decor quite nice. Svs not bad. But my friend used to buy takeaways a few times every week, and became friendly with the waitressess. When New Year came, they teased my friend for red packets, and seemed unhappy when she didn't give any. Price is almost the same or slightly less than Crystal, but food is definitely worse but still edible. Most of the dishes are not to my taste as they use a Shanghai? style of cooking. The dim sum, and xiaolongbao are mostly edible but still less nice than Crystal. However they offer a nutritious brown rice with carrots, garlic, etc. It is good and can't be found in most other places. Very affordable too.
