I bought a few pieces from Snowlights before. What is so special about this blogshop is that its designs are very unique compared to what you will normally find in department stores. For example, many of its jewellery are adorned with cute charms, flowers and the likes on top of crystals and pearls. For most jewellery in department stores, you will find either crystal, pearls or the use of coloured stones like those in Chomel, but rarely the use of rocking horse charms, flowers and etc.
Well I wanted to have a look at a cheap sofa that I saw in one of Courts advertisement.
But the furniture here is limited compared to the outlet at Bukit Timah. Of course, there were still 5-6 sofa sets, beds, a few bedroom sets, dining tables. Still I find the furniture here to be lacking, and those that were displayed are the more expensive ones.
So probably if you wish to purchase those discounted furniture featured in their advertisements, it will be wiser to visit Courts Bukit Timah.
Besides furniture this outlet also sells electronic products, PC and laptops.
This is a Taiwan fashion brand that has been established for years. It occupies a space in the ladies section of Takashimaya Department store.
It sell ladies apparel and some accessory. The collection is very feminine and most suited for girls in their late teens to twenties. The clothes are usually flowery and sweet sometimes excessively so. The fabrics used could be full of flowery designs or sequins could be used. Hence it is not suited for office wear.
The price could be a little steep, most dresses cost $140- $180. During sales, discounts of up to 15% could be given. But my impression is that even during sales the discounts are seldom 30% or more, as in some other labels.
Mu sells ladies apparel designed by a local designer. It occupies a space in the department store besides Chaber. Apart from this outlet, it also has another at Bishan.
Although it is by a local designer, yet I find the apparel comparable to some more well-established brands like Espirit. Similar to Espirit, Mu clothings are suitable for girl in their late teens to early thirties. Its collection emphasise simplicity but stylish designs. Its stylish aspect is brought out by the clever folds, twists and cutting of the apparel. The simple designs mean it is suitable for office wear as well. However apparels for cocktail parties and clubbing are also available, as some of its collection use satin and shiny fabric.
When it comes to the price it is reasonable as many of its tops are in the range of $30- $60. A dress could cost about $100- $150. But for this price range, the fabric used are pretty good, though not of top quality.
Hence I think this is a local designer worth patroning as its collection are trendy yet affordable.
It occupies just a counter in the canteen on the ground floor. It faces the seating area so you don't even have to walk into the canteen itself to patron this store.
It sells all the usual desserts and cakes you will find in other outlets. However the slices of cakes sold are fewer, and I suspect may have been kept for a longer time. This is because I saw some strange spots/colours on some of the cakes sold, which maybe a sign that the cakes are going bad.
During the mid-autumn festival, mooncakes are also sold in this outlet.
The prices are also fairly affordable.
