This is quite a large shop and sells a wide range spectacles. It is usually tended by only a middle-aged man, who is the owner.
Although it is not situated in a prime location still the prices are almost the same as those shops with higher rentals. It sells a fair range of good quality spectacle frames like Grease, Chrmante, etc.So a frame could easily cost over $100 and more. The service is similar to those at other shops, where the sale person will take a variety of frames to let you try. Nothing exceptional good or poor about the service quality here.
When it came to collection time, I felt the service could be improved. The shopkeeper didn't check well to see if the frame fits me although he was willing to make any adjustments when I remonstrated.
Situated just a few doors away from Royal World of Sports, you wonder how these two close rivals survive. Well, World of Sports survive the fierce competition by selling lesser known brands of sports goods. You can't find a wide range of Reebok, Nike, New Balance, Pumas goods here. Although I think they stock a small variety of Addia (or was it Nike?) here.
The lesser-known brands are generally cheaper, you should be able to find a sport shoes from $30 onwards. It also sells a wide variety of slippers.
A book and stationery shop situated favourably near the main entrance of NUH. This is a shop you can't miss if you are entering from the main entrance.
Although a bookshop, in reality the book collection is meagre, rather there are a small collection of magazines. Its main focus is stationery, cards and small gift items like jewellery boxes. Usually it has a offer corner where old items are sold for a dollar or two. Most of the stationery are reasonably priced comparable to Popular. They are fairly ordinary. But from time to time, you may find some pretty and unique items that are also affordable. For example, I once picked up a pretty pocket mirror for $3.50.
This outlet is located right next to the washroom and it near UOB.
Sasa sell a variety of cosmetics, perfumes, skincare products and beauty instruments like brushes, clipper, etc. At also sells little known brand from Korea, HK and Taiwan if I am not wrong. Some of the brands sold here can't really be found in other major shops like Watson or Guardian Pharmacy. They are cheap as well. For example, their nail polish could cost as little as $1.95 to $2.50.
It also offers some interesting products like bird nest mask, temporary hair dye. However it it does sell usual brand like Ginvera, Banana Boat Sunblock. Unlike Watson and Guardian Pharmacy it offers high-end skincare products like SK-II as well as branded perfumes.
Quite a small outlet compared to the other outlet at Ngee Ann City. But it offers the usual well-known brand like Reebok, Nike, Pumas, Addia...
Usually past seasons shoes are sold at a discount. But still expect to fork out $65 onwards even with the discounts. Digressing a little, although Reebok, Nike are top brands for sports apparel yet their quality could be a disappointment. Often I find the soles of their sport shoes to come loose after a year or so, and I don't even wear them daily.
Coming back to the main issue, the service at this outlet is good. I tried on 5 pairs of shoes and the salesman politely obliged in taking them out for me to try, and I wasn't even purchasing an expensive pair.
Besides shoes, you can find the usual stuffs like apparel , bottles, bags.
