Although it happened quite a few months back, I thought it might be good to post it here for the benefit of others. I saw on paper an advertisement ( sometime at the beginning of year ) regarding the 'Golden Voice' DVD player which claims to be able to record karaoke and allow on screen selection of songs.
This interest me because I know that :-
1) No DVD player in the market can record karaoke from DVD and
2) to have on screen song selection will require a computer to be connected
I was looking high and low to have a player that can record karaoke and selection of song for playback like in Karaoke lounge. But I do not want to have a Computer attached. I thought this is exactly what I want and immediately call up to make enquiry.
There was this guy ( sounds very Ah Beng ) who pick up the phone and I started asking question. I only need to verify the above two points and his answer was:-
1) 'Can, who say cannot...'
2) 'No need Computer, you can come down and see it yourself..'
I am not convinced because there was no logical explanation at all. So I told him I still cannot understand how it works and he said, 'I already tell you a lot. You come down and take a look.' with a very impatient voice.
I must say that there is nothing wrong with the shop, but the attitude of the salesman is a big problem. That ended our conversation and I never visited his shop.
This is one of my favourite Indonesia Restaurant. The best dish is the Beef Rendan. I can't find any better Rendan than this. It is so tender, a little sweet and hot but not spicy. Of course, besides this, there are many other nice dishes as well. If you like Indonesian food, you must give this a try.
I was told that many youngsters make their own products especially hand bags, T-Shirt, necklace and ear rings etc to sell it on the net, but never do I know that the no. of online blogstore is more than I can imagine.
I really admire these youngsters. They are really creative. They can really do somethings which we adults can never think of doing. I would have thought of how to collect money, how to deliver and how to avoid false transaction etc when selling things online. But the younsters seems to do it without any fear. They don't really border about the appearance of their blogstore ( but many have good design too ). They simply sell anything they can create.
The main criteria for these blogstore seems to be cheap and creative. I wonder are they doing it for fun or for profit? Are their customers mainly students? May be this is what our government wants, ie, Entrepreneur.
Whatever it is, time has changed and the way to do things change too. All the best to all the online blogstore owners and keep up with the good works.
Located inside the mall, it is quite a convenient place for lunch/dinner before or after shopping. There are more than 100 different types of dishes for selection. Previously, the serving was quite small, it was catered for one person. Now the serving is meant for 2 person and the price has increased.
For 4 person or more, you will be able to try out many types of dishes serving in small portion. Most dishes range from $6.00 to $15.00 and you can choose as many as you like unlike the traditional 10-course chinese food.
Tasted Vietnamese food in HCMC at Pho 2000, I thought of trying it locally just for comparision. Have no idea where is Pho 2000 but saw this restaurant when I was driving along East Coast road.
The frontage was'nt attractive, interior is normal. The spring roll is not as tasty as HCMC but the Sliced Beef noodle (Kway Teow) is nice. The waiter/waitress are young but friendly and service oriented. We were served with the wrong type of beef but they changed it without any question.
Is quite a nice place for dinner but the parking lot is limited.
I do encounter the same in HCMC. A taxi with a meter that runs super fast. However,
even if it is double the normal meter reading, it only cost me another few dollars.
Although this is not a pleasant experience, we should not let this driver
damage the reputation of HCM. I believe the same thing happen in China or any other
places too. I remembered it happen to me many years back in Paris too.
It is true that there is nothing much to see in HCM. It is like our 1970. The best thing
in HCMC is probably the seafood. It is cheap and good. Shopping is nothing compare
to Singapore except for local products and immitation.
There are only a few places for sight seeing . Although it is not very fantastic, it does
give you an idea of how the Vietnamese people survive through many years of war.
The only thing I hate is the tiring journey. It is few hours drive for each destination.
One last thing, never stay in expensive Hotel if you are on holidays.
Yet another caution for the businessman. A year ago, I received a sizable order from Chong Ching without much efforts. Recently, I was asked to quote by a company from Yun Nan for a product which is easily available in China.
Doing business in Singapore is so tough and yet receiving order from China is so easy. The customer in Singapore behave like King and the customer from China is over polite.
While I like the environment and the facilities of Laguna, I am rather disappointed for the following:-
1) Too many small tournament were held at Laguna on weekends. It deprives the member's privileage to play on the weekends. Besides, the slow play make the game very un-enjoyable.
2) The flight schedule is not strictly followed. Many members turn up late at the tee-off point and disturb the entire schedule. The Starters are too friendly to everyone and that makes their jobs difficult too.

Laguna classic coursed is close for renovation for 9 months. It is supposed to be a world class golf course when it is completed.
This can be very proud for the member. However, meanwhile, the member has to tolerate the inconvenience for 9 months because the no. of players did not reduce despite the fact that half the course is closed. In addition to this, the weather for the past few months have been bad and golfers can hardly complete the game most of the time. In order to maximise the usage, the management impose a new rule that all flight must be of 4 person on weekend. We do agree to this rule but we think that it should be the club's responsibility to pair us up. Most golfer has no problem getting two person but not 4 especially the non-member green fee is so expensive.
It seems that the member is being penalised for the club's upgrading work.
The recent advertisement on Channel 5 regarding the Quit Smoking campaign is rather disgusting. Personally, I do not quite agree such a terrible scene should be shown on the national TV.
It does not scare the smokers. Instead, it frighten the non smoker and the young children. The similar picture has been shown on the cigarette box for donkey years, what different does it make.
While quit smoking campaign is neccessary, having to show such an ad on TV simply means our experts have run out of ideas on how to effectively stop people from smoking.
This is quite tasty. The main attraction is actually the crispy pork chop cut into small pieces. I believe this must be a special recipe of his own. Another complimentary dish is the vegetable 'Kolei Chai' and fried 'Hor Pau Dan'. There are various type of curry ( at least 7 types ) mixed together and pour onto the rice.
I hate the amount of curry they pour onto the rice. No matter how you remind the store owner, it will still be wet and messy.
What to do, it will not be nice if it is not messy! I would have rated this 5-star 6 months ago. Now, I will reduce it to 4 because the standard somehow drop as compared to previous months.
