Din Tai Fung at Tampines Mall had the initial long queues... They still have them but Saturday dinnertimes only.

I've been here twice but I seriously don't know why I went the second time after the first experience.

After hearing so much about this place from my colleagues, my friends and I head down to the place. It was a weekday afternoon so it was quite empty. We had some fried rice, the widely acclaimed crystal buns and the crystal buns with crabmeat.

The fried rice was a little oily but tasted normal. The crystal buns are alright too, but a tad too flimsy so we couldn't drink that much soup cos it spilled. The highlight was the crabmeat ones. There were 10 and I ate 2.... both had crab shells. Well if you want to think positively, they are pretty fresh in that sense... but seriously when you only eat 2 out of 10 and both have your teeth crunching down on the shells? BLAH. And the waitress didn't do anything when we told her about it.

The second time I went it was with my family. We ordered some crystal buns and some noodles and rice. All went fine. One crystal bun was already broken when it arrived but they changed it immediately. So that was ok.

They don't have much variety. And the crystal buns are the only exceptional items. If the crab shell incident didn't happen I'll probably give it 4 stars.

Parking can be a headache at Tampines Mall though.

If you like Crystal Jade's 小笼包, I'm sure you'll like 鼎泰豐's too. Feels like heaven as the soup seeps out from within with every bite!

I tried their noodles too, which is really nice.
色 - The noodles looks really appetizing and they come nicely arranged.
香 - Smells great when the bowl was served!
味 - And the taste is of course nothing but great. The noodles are smooth and the soup just perfect.

You HAVE to drop by this branch to try out their 小笼包!

Kenny Rogers is the place we usually dine when we're at Suntec or Marina area. Cause we just love their sides!

Usual orders would be the quarter chicken with 2 sides and the BBQ Chicken pita with 2 sides.

Used to love their corn muffins but think I've grown out of it. *lol*

And our usual 4 sides cause they are just too good to resists... Macaroni cheese, long beans, pasta salad and either the boiled corn or the steamed cauliflower.

Overall a nice place for dinner.

(Now I'm craving for their Macaroni cheese! -________-")

The place looks so bright and cheerful and welcoming now! Kenny Rogers has changed their image and I'm loving it! Go check it out!

The Centr@l Mall is a new shopping mall and not every shop is ready for business just yet. In my opinion, its not quite a mall for shoppers who wants to shop around and just enjoy a shopping experience kind of place.

However if you're looking for good food, that's one place you can try. Many nice places to eat at the "backside" or "otherside" of the mall, which is pretty hidden to me and my friend when we were there the first time. I only discovered them the second time I was there. Maybe due to the design of the building structure. At once glance, from the entrance via the bus-stop/mrt station, the mall seems pretty sad. (You'll see only a few shops , the rest are kind of "hidden" at the back of these front shops.)

One shop which I thought was worth mentioning here will be Gobi. Their cute little cakes aka chocolates are the perfect gift for the sweet tooth girlfriend. They can be located at Level 1, opp Starbucks. (Web: http://www.gobi.com.sg/)

If you are around Plaza Singapura and need a place to rest, chill, chat, have a drink, have a snack or food, go to the "hidden" cafe inside Made With Love, at level 3, next to OP.

They have lots of yummy food which I love! The photo attached is my latest fav - Spud with Sausages. This also comes with vegeterian diet version, which I saw Elaine eating it the other day I was there. Looks very yummy too! However, this yummy spud will only last for an hour or so and than you'll be hungry again. (This is what Malee, the cafe guy, will tell you too if you ask him.) Or if you can't take this or wants abit more of that, just let him know! He'll surely cook up something that will suit your unique taste! The cafe people never fails to perk one up with their food.

Another one that you can't miss is their Roast Chicken Ciabatta served with chips. This one will sure fill one hungry tummy and last for at least 4 hours or more. Healthy (beside the chips) and yummy!

There's also this very colorful decorated chocolate cake, Pari Pari or for some who call it the "Fairies Cupcake". I've yet tried it myself, but it sure looks sinfully delicious! When heated nicely, its one cake that chocolate lovers cannot miss!

If my review aren't enough to wet your appetite, ask Malee! (At table scraps of course!)

Honestly, I'm a mini fan of Kenny Rogers and I have no idea why.

Suntec is a really central area to go. Very accessible by MRT and bus and with plenty of shopping space I would say this is a good restaurant to seek.

The ambience is cosy. The seats are a little run-down upon inspection but the overall look's alright.

It's a self service thing but the servers are always on hand to help you with your trays. It can be really heavy at times.

It's mostly chicken but they also have some fish fillet. They have chicken fillet for those who can't be bothered to operate on those bones. There's also the Chicken Soup in a bread bowl thingy which is very filling and delicious!

I rarely order the chicken as I eat very little. But I love the sides. I prefer the rice, the vegetables and the mashed potatoes. Sometimes I can caught up with the cheese macaroni.

2 plates are generally enough for 3 people. So it's possible for 3 to eat below $20 which is very reasonable. Drinks come in a big cup but are non-refillable. I don't think you would want to get them refilled anyway.

    Great place. :)

    1417. Victoria’s Secret

I'm sure many men and women have heard of Victoria's Secret before.

It's a US store which sells mainly lingerie. It's not available in any store in SG. For your info, if any shop sells it in SG, it's illegal and the shop may face legal action as VS does not allow any shop to sell its stuff in Asia.

That aside, its online store has a wide variety of lingerie and sleepwear. Not to mention it has many sexy tops and dresses for you to choose from. They also have a comprehensive size chart which you can have a good gauge of your size from. The cutting of the clothing is not very big so it's fine.

The staff are very helpful when you ask for assistance, whether through email or phone.

When it's sale time, the prices of the items can be so low that it's worth it even with the hefty shipping costs.

The whole thing would be a good experience if not for one incident. I had clicked on a top which should have costed $20, but in the shopping cart it sneakily appeared at $25. And no matter how I clicked it didn't change. For those not too careful they would have then paid an extra $5 for that item.

This is located at the Tampines Store along Tampines Ave 10. You can take a free shuttle there from Tampines/Bedok MRT station. Parking is free and plentiful. You can even park at Giant which is opposite Ikea.

It's very crowded during weekends and weekday mealtimes. There are quite a number of people even during weekday off-peak hours. So be prepared!

Some of the most popular food here is the Swedish Meatballs and the chicken wings as mentioned by the other reviewers. However the Meatballs are made of beef which I don't eat. The only one time I did have it... It was quite dry. I guess it was because it was near the bottom of the tray and had been there quite long already. But the cranberry sauce that came with it was tasty. I personally feel that the chicken wings are also a tad dry but much healthier than the ones you find at Hawker Centres. It's less oily but dry because of the same reason.

I usually take the Salmon and chips. I like the fries as they are the fat kind. The salmon is alright, just that the sauce can be a tad thick occasionally. The kids' burger meal is quite tasteless. The burger is just two dry buns sandwiching the meat. Without any sauce it's quite hard to swallow.

However i like the system there. The self service system so that you can "tailor" things the way you like them. I also clear my own cutlery although that is not too successful with Singaporeans.

It's usually $15 for a meal for two adults plus drinks. Of cos if you are an Ikea Member you get the free drinks thingy which is great.

Relatively good place to rest and relax before heading the the rest of Ikea. :)

I loveee going to Ikea ever since like 10 years ago when I moved to my current home at Sengkang. I was super excited when they opened at Tampines! (Just a 5 mins drive from my place!)

I go there pretty often nowadays just to grab a bite. I love their Fresh Water Shrimp. Cheap and fresh. And on Tuesdays or Wednesday, their Fish & Chips (sometimes with Sambal chilli) is my favourite too!

I know many recommended their Meatballs, but I've never tried it. Last time cause I don't eat beef, but now when I start eating beef, I can't eat pork. So never am I going to try their famous meatballs. (Maybe one day they will change to all beef or combine beef and chicken?)

Oh ya! Their chicken wings! How can I forget! Juicy and yummmmmy!! I know its unhealthy and fattening, but how can I resists??

No where to go, go Ikea Tampines! Best part is, parking is free!!

    1420. Organic Cafe Xperience

Chanced upon this tiny cosy cafe at the basement of Century Square when I was there with my mum last week. Since mum is currently on a healthy diet, we decided to give this organic cafe a try.

Can't remember the actual name of the dish but its grilled cod fillet with brown rice. (Not on the main menu. Its a $9.90 promotion menu or something.) But just look for it lah! Cause its super yummy! I'm not a fish person (that's why I ordered the spicy beef spaghetti which was also very good) but I enjoyed eating my mum's dish!

Another must try is their yogurt. They've many toppings to choose from, we had the mango one. Nice.

If I'm not wrong, they also have an outlet at Velocity.
